Mowgli my unit heats it's own water and keeps it at a constant temp

Mine heats out of control. At 45 minutes mine needs cooling.

I'm sure it's beneficial if it's controlled heat at say 125F as suggested in this thread.
If I let mine run OOC it gets too hot to keep a finger in.
That kind of heat will kill the nic and send the motor to a premature grave scrapheap.

Once again ECF shows me something I just gotta have. I ordered this one today NEW PRO Large 60W Ultrasonic Ultrasound Cleaner Jewelry | eBay and should have it soon. I started DIY for the cost savings just hoping to make something I could live with but I've actually been very happy with my mixes, just not the waiting.

Thanks to all who made up my mind (too many to mention by name) I'm sure I'll be very happy with this. It's not that deep but I use 4 30mil glass bottles and that gets by about a month. Mixing juice once a month instead of staggering the bottles every week to keep em steeped is priceless, once again thanks!

That's my story exactly. Vaping is waaaaaaay cheaper (and more enjoyable) than smoking. I went the DIY route to see how low could my vaping cost go. I was ready to settle with whatever it was I came up with as long as it was vapable. To my surprise the juices I made were quite good. But waiting around for weeks was a complete drag. Tried the UC and problem solved, game over.

I would like to use a little badwidth to say how much I appreciate the contributors to this thread. In a lot of places I see the elitists talking down and blowing off questions that they themselves probably asked at one point. Not here though, not in this thread, and that makes a whole lot of difference to me.

In some other threads I have seen comments that made me want a little 'face to face' time with the responder. Again, thank all of you for not being that way.

Never tried heat yet, but will give it a go tomarow. But one thing i found for bigger batches i order is i use a metal drip tip that will fit in a 50-60mil bottle(aluminium for the small bottles) and use it to agitate the juice every day, works awesome. I use a heavier and bigger chromeish drip tip for 120Mil bottles. It really gets the stuff nice and bubbly after only a minute. Takes a week to be ready.

Just a couple thoughts for ya that i have tried. Cant do anything on your level until probably christmas. :)

Thank YOU! :)

I've had the damn blasted thing collecting so much dust over the last 4 years on the bathroom counter!

(I bought it to clean the old atties & cartos at the time... grand kids said if I ever needed to could use it to clean my TEETH!) :D

I'll resurrect it now for my DIY steeping stuff! :)

(Ahem... I better clean it first!
)

Thanks Again! :)

Here is my take on Speed Steeping....

I have tried a number of things to quick steep juice.
I may have cut it down to about 2 to 3 weeks time.... but,, nothing is a proper substitute for time.
Proper Steeping I have found just can't be hastened.

So what have you tried? And have you ever tried UC steeping. I'm just wondering because that's a pretty broad statement you made there.

Excellent video Bobalex. Truly a class act. Please keep them coming.
I saw dannyv's post on ultrasonic steeping last week and didn't know the originator of the idea until I found these threads on it. Great idea. I have been DIY'ing my own juice for about a month now and except for my root beer mix all the others have been disappointing to say the least. I picked up the HF 2.5 liter ultrasonic cleaner today http://www.harborfreight.com/25-liter-ultrasonic-cleaner-95563.html and have been speed steeping the sample batches I made last night. I am totally stoked about being able to have some vapable juice today instead of having to wait weeks on end to know exactly how the mix tastes.

Great thread everybody. Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge.

This is the one I ended up buying:
NEW 2 5L Stainless Steel Commercial Ultrasonic Cleaner W Timer Heater Jewelry | eBay

It's pretty awesome and worth the cash IMHO... but I use it for other stuff too
Just wanted to thank you for posting that seller. A closer look shows The GB928 1L(another you recommended) is $9 cheaper from that seller than the GB928 that interested me another member posted(can't recall who) Looks like a nicely powered unit without heat which I decided I don't really need once adding heated water to begin with. The other seller states it has 1400ml capacity which is closer to 1.5L? Only wished it was bigger but it seems like the best option for the price I have found thanks to everyone here.
Huge thanks to bobalex for everything and getting me into a 3 part thread that made me read more pages in a single sitting than anything else since the insano FT thread :D

So...I spent the weekend making some juices and speed steeping them in the Ultrasonic I picked up on saturday. Although I wasn't making any tobacco flavors, I did taste a notable difference in the quality of my mixes. I went from icky to sweet in about an hour. The water does heat on it's own from the ultrasonic waves. The heater is good for bring the water to temp faster and I turned the heater off once it was hot. I also tried to keep the cycles rolling throughout the hour. I worked out to about 8 cycles ate the 480 second setting. Ultimately, I think the flavors really set in to the mixes on the next day after steeping. It sort of like left over chili. It always tastes better the second day.

There was also a lot of discussion about how to keep the bottles from floating around and keeping the tops from unscrewing. I have a 500ml beaker I picked up at wallyworld in the kitchen utensil section of the housewares department for mixing juice and found this little baby worked perfect for holding about 5 - 6ml sample bottles. I filled the breaker with water to the same level as the water in the ultrasonic so that the agitation passed through the beaker seamlessly. The dip in the lid for of the ultrasonic used for the handle fit perfectly into the top of the beaker and kept it from sliding around the tank while it was working.

I suggest to use 1 dram Glass vials.
Buy on eBay for cheapest price and super fast delivery.
I found that using plastic bottles takes way more time to UC.
Also you can easily clean glass...not so if plastic.
Glass is the key for really fast steeping.
Cheers
That's a pretty small vial at 3.5ml, you'd better get a lot of them.:p
