Well Danny, thanks for your Blog and all! I finally pulled the trigger on the jo4less you recommended a couple pages back. I have a bunch of tobaccos to test soon so we will see which one arrives 1st.

I like those Boston rounds as well but the smallest I have at this time are 30ml. I need to get some smaller one but shipping is more than the bottles most of the time. Looking at some vials like what RTS and wizzard ship there flavors in also, but most have metal caps and I would prefer phenolic/plastic.
Thanks again, anxious to try this thing out.
I use my empty 30ml flavoring bottles. I also use the "Blue" 30 ml bottles from RTS.

It's been posted before that a 10 minute break after 30 minutes "on" will rest the transducer. The next time I DIY I'll do that. All the previous batches I've made I just kept turning it on over and over again. Every 8 minutes. Now that I've read that's a bad thing ... I'll give the UC a rest.

When you DIY'd before ... how long did the juice have to steep before it reached vape-ability?

This same recipe is good after about a week. The flavor is much better and it turns yellow. My UC has 60 minute cycles so I can just let it run the entire time without having to keep turning it back on.

All TFA. I did 6% Blueberry Extra, 6% Strawberry, 6% Peach, and 2% cotton candy

Those flavors require little to no steeping so the UC is not really going to help you there. That mix you can mix and vape straight away.

Some advice: Please taste your mixes before steeping so you have a baseline to compare how it changes and do a little research on how flavors react to steeping. Learn which flavors require little to no steeping and which flavors need long steeping times otherwise your going to be disappointed about the steeping results. There's no sense in steeping if the mix does not require steeping.

Very nice. I doubt you'll need to run the heater the UC waves will generate plenty of heat. Just monitor the water temperature as it runs. If it goes above 120F stop the cycle and let the water cool down. To hot is no good. You may find that you may have to run 30 minute cycles at a time if the water gets to hot.

Nice x 3 :)

I looked and could not find the run time but maybe I missed it. Just to clarify since this seems like the deal of the century: you have the unit ? and can confirm a max run time of 90 minutes?

Of course, if someone else thinks this thread advocates snake oil they don't care. /LOL /joke :)

Thank You for the advice! I'll keep your tips in mind once I receive the unit.

I'll probably run a test run to see how it goes... maybe the 30 minutes as you've suggested.

I am assuming that it's okay to use glass bottles in this unit. I have several 30 ml Boston Round type in both blue glass and brown. I use them to store my juices in rather than the plastic bottles that are shipped with my NET-based juices.

Now that you asked the question... I can't find the cotton-picking link that stated it's time settings. I found it earlier this morning when I was researching this cleaner. ADD kickin' in again! LOL!

:2cool:

Once I receive the unit I'll post more information. ;)

Not only OK but highly recommended.

Thanks. Please do post your review after you have beat the hell out of the unit. I'm a tad cautious at this point since the UC I purchased from Amazon advertised 60 minutes run time but it's only 30 minutes.

Even though this thread might be called "snake oil" with a little AP that won't stop us from performing some due diligence. LOL So, I sent my questions direct to the ebay seller and they responded in a timely manner and here it is word for word:

Dear Customer,
Thanks for your interest in our items. This ultrasonic machine does have a Heating Capacity - 0 To 176 Degrees Fahrenheit, but it does not come with a dryer function. The maximum run time is 90 minutes, but the manufacturer recommends to use it up to 60 minutes at the time.
Best regards,

Monica B

What the hell is a "dryer" ? Referenced above. ?

SeniorBoy - Thanks for your diligence to do a follow up for me... it's appreciated. Looks like I'll just do 4 - 1 hour cycles with a rest period in-between them.

I don't know what a dryer is either for this unit unless it's similar to a dryer that is a forced-air type that blow lukewarm air through the unit. I also think there are some higher temp dryers for use with medical/surgical instruments and such.

I am supposed to receive this unit the day after Christmas... c'mon Santa!

Thanks for all these ultrasonic steeping threads. I figured I'd show off what I got/did tonight.

Steeping.jpg

I was impatient to get the steeping going, so I wrote on the cork. I figure the next time I steep, I'll just stick color coded sewing pins on the top. I'm not sure how long, or great it is to use cork, but if I'm worried, I suppose I could line the bottom of the cork with plastic wrap when I put them on.

Anyhow, thanks again. Also, I scored my 59 minute unit for $5 at Goodwill - I don't even think it was ever used.
