All my ingredients arrived today so I've got a 30ml batch steeping. I'll post the results after at least a week of steeping. If this doesn't work I guess I'll just have to buy the ready made stuff!

Good luck Pete ,I have the last of the ingredients coming this weekend so I will be mixing a batch too, not sure I'm going with 6% sweetener though.

First batch after 2 hr. hot bath - cap off overnight, it is a nicely dark orangey color, pleasant scent, I have vaped some today at work with a micro coiled 1.8 ohm EVOD at 7 watts, and it is not overpowering my half dead taste buds. Has more of a throat hit as I crank up the wattage. Dripping some in a Ego-W this eve...

Made a new batch at 30ml. - did a slight mod, took off 1% of the sweet cream and added 2% of TFA Bavarian Cream to it..
It bathing in hot water now.

I'm a bit confused on this. you said you followed the recipe exactly but I see 3.5% of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream in yours. Forgive me if I'm mis-quoting you here as my head is still spinning reading all these threads!

Right, I had to use what was on hand, so it's off a bit. I have now fully steeped this juice and on a standalone basis this is a little strong and off just a bit. Hard to describe. The missus has been mixing this juice with several other "simple" juices with brilliant results. This juice as an additive brings so-so juices to life in a big way. In that regard, I have to say it's outstanding. If mixing a vanilla custard to a fruit, for example, sounds like your ticket, then this may be the ticket. Tried with Strawberry and Peaches and very, very good. YMMV. As a standalone, this is very close and I hope someone can "complete" the recipe. Very close. Good luck!

I haven't vaped "Stevo's" for maybe three weeks, but tried it again today and it was excellent. Starting low and staying around 6 watts, far lower than I normally vape at (7 - 7.5 watts), I have to say this was darn good, and certainly better than most of the store bought custard's I have bought over my vaping career. Quite a pleasant surprise. I had a slight variation using vanilla bean ice cream (post 122), and the strong flavors like the custard and eggnog all mellowed, and it's quite a tasty treat, and just what I was looking for. Stevo, hat's off to you! So, somewhere between 4 and 5 weeks this thing came into it's own. I didn't think it was going to quite get there, and then today, really good. Excellent recipe. I don't think my variation was enough to do the trick, I think it was the long steep time. I'm sure I do the same with less time by backing off the flavoring a bit, but I'm just glad I have something I can make again, and a lifetime to tweak it now. Thanks Stevo!

you could try ecigexpress.. RTS check out is driving me nuts right now..

They are having problems at the moment! They had to install some new software to comply with the state laws (NC),and are having a hard time getting it to work right! Kinda like Obama Care web/site! Maybe the same programmers are working for RTS?:glare:

I just tried a bit of the mix I made, which is exactly as shown in the main recipe for this thread. It's only steeped a couple of days but I can clearly tell that, for me at least, there is way too much sweetener in it. I used the 6% which sounded like a lot in the first place but I wanted to try it as it was intended to be mixed. I seriously can't imagine how anyone could handle vaping anything that sugary. Made a second batch with no sweetener and mixed the two together so that it only has 3% sweetener in it. I'll try it in a few more days but if I was starting from scratch I wouldn't use more than 2%, tops!
Just my two cents!

I made my first batch at 2% sweetener.
Last batch I made was 1.5%.
Made 60ml.
Figured I could add more if needed.
But it seems good.
It really hits it's peak around 4-5 weeks steeping.
I like it so much I ordered a 4oz bottle of cap vanilla custard.
Gonna make 120ml minimum from here on out.
I really rifle through this stuff!

I still have lots of "store bought" vanilla custards to finish before DIYing this one
But ... it's on the top of the recipe pile, and I sure appreciate you guys working out all the tweaks that are needed.

Note: I think all the problems ordering from RTS have been solved now.
The biggest problem was trying to order using IE at the time.
I used FF with no problem.
The sale has been extended through the 24th because of it, so you still have time.

This is what I'm mixing now. I add a little caramel to the mix but it's not needed at all. Dropped the sweetener down to 0.5%. Tastes pretty good!

Boy ... that sounds good.
I've tried some bummer recipes lately, and it's time to make one that puts a smile on my face.
Besides, I get to try the Vienna Cream for the first time.
I've looked at it several times and wondered if I would ever find a need for it.
This recipe may just empty the bottle
Thanks moocho

Two quick things to add. The Vienna Cream, that's my secret DIY weapon for almost all my mixes. It just can't help but make a recipe better in my book Now as far as all of the Vanilla Custard recipes in this thread go, they are good, but not great IMO. Still not as good as most of the better VC's I've tried. I don't know, they're just missing something. I have learned one thing though, I just don't care for Sucralose as a sweetener. If I use more than a drop or two per 10ml it tastes like I'm vaping sugar! Anyhow, thanks to the OP and others who have contributed to this quest. If I ever find the Holy Grail VC recipe I'll be back!

Thanks for the tip on the Vienna Cream ... I'll put it to the test on a few of my "lacking" recipes.

On the Sucralose, I dilute it in a 30ml bottle of straight PG. That calms it down.
Then, if the juice just has to be sweetened, I can add a drop.
There are a few juices that I add a tiny amount to .. most are good on their own

Liquid Splenda has been a staple in my kitchen for over 40 years, and just 1 drop is too sweet for a 8oz mug of coffee.
But ... It's great for replacing sugar in all my sugar-free recipes.
So .. I knew better than to just add it by it's self to the juice ... maybe if I make a quart

Are you still with us today ????????????????

With the sales, I hit HDV, ECX, and a few other too.
I guess we all got "loaded" for New Years.

Wizard's prices on their nic, are as good as you can find, so it wasn't too much of a loss (other than shipping)
I have a problem just finding it it stock !

As far as Stevo's VC, I could almost use it as a "base" in all my recipes.
Great Stuff
