Yes this process really was a surprise. I mean.. I keep reading stories (your stories) of quitting and I was like.. naw... how can that be? I was giving myself much longer than the few weeks I've started this. I know.. right? only a few weeks of doing this. My son reminded me this morning that I was approaching a week without smelling bad. While my other son says you smell like an air freshener... The things kids say! I guess I rather smell like an air freshener than smoke. Now I have a vision in my head of being one of those cardboard air fresheners that we once dangled from our rear view mirror in our cars.

But yet.. here I am.. in two weeks of starting this process.. cigarettes being a thing of the past. It is just astounding! amazing! Like some secret weapon that needs to be shouted from the rooftops.

You bet I will tell my friends about this. I am meeting with a very good friend of mine this weekend and she has no idea I quit. she's a pretty heavy smoker herself. So we will see how that goes. I've definitely had people come to me asking about vaping, there does seem to be a interest in it here in AZ!

The same thing happened to me too. Actually when I started vaping I didn't expect 100% success; even if I cut down my smoking a little I'd be happy. I'm still marveling over how almost effortlessly I made the transition. And the other thing I marvel over as well is how much more I like vaping than smoking. It hasn't been a chore or job or anything to give up the analogs. In fact my very first vape inhale i wanted to sing halleluja! Analogs hold no power over me at all like they used to for years.

Exactly! Cigs be gone! out of here! woot!

Much the same as my story after 40 years of smoking. I lit one up the afternoon of my first day and discovered it just wasn't any better than vaping. I remember my wife looking strangely at me the evening of the first day. She asked me what was wrong...because I guess I was looking all befuddled. I said I just couldn't believe this was working. Her starter kit came 4 days later.

Congrats Nova and everyone else sharing their stories on the thread

It really is incredible. I'm an accidental quitter and I never dreamed it would be so easy to quit, let alone quitting by accident. I've also shared my experience and aided in 2 more accidental quitters putting their analogs down. Who could have ever dreamed setting aside cigs would be this easy for some?

And if you are reading this and struggling somewhat, keep moving forward, only focus on the analogs you haven't smoked, and congratulate yourself on that. Cutting down is not at all easy and getting to single figure cigs per day is a huge accomplish to be proud of.

If you remember my comment from another thread, you're part of a set of quadruplets now :)
BTW your son's air fresher comment cracked me up. Thanks for sharing

I know exactly what you are talking about!!
It's been 2.5 years for me....and I still cannot believe it was so easy.

Everyone, who is a doubter.....listen up....it works...it's easy...and you wont' regret it!!

And when you give up the analogs, pay it forward and tell one person how easy it was!
Naw...tell the world!!

I just started vaping today! I had half a pack of cigarettes on me when I got home with my shiny new SVD, you know, just in case. That was at dinner time. It's now close to midnight and the pack of cigarettes is crushed up in the garbage. I'm done with smoking forever. Thanks E-Cigarettes!

:w00t: Woot! I love when people know after such a short time that they are done with analogs forever. Welcome!

Welcome! Oddly I still carry my open pack of cigarettes around with me. I'm not really sure why, but I'm not fully ready to let it go even though i don't smoke them . I'm guessing its still the anxiety of being out. Eventually I will throw them away. But big congrats! It's a big step into a really fun adventure.
