I would smoke 6 to 8 cigarettes with 3 cups of coffee every morning. It's weird, but I don't miss the cigarettes in the morning. It's the evening cig that I am having trouble with. I now have 1 in the evening either after dinner or before I go to bed at night and that is really all I want. I opened a pack two weeks ago this Tuesday and still have 6 left in the pack. I figure that one or two a day is much better than 30. You're doing great and don't beat yourself up over that one cig. Do what makes you comfortable or it won't work at all.

when i wake up i want a real cigarette and usually have one. vaping is fine for the rest of the day but for some reason i still crave a traditional cig in the morning. if i dont have one i tend to vape the living ..... out of my ecig and am still not satisfied. fortunately the rest of the day is not like this. thoughts?

For goodness sake smoke it and don't overthink it. There's a multitude of people who have been vaping for a few years that still have a couple a day. Some in the morning, some after meals and some in the evening as a ritual with a glass of wine or a drink. The rest of the time they vape instead. Compared to a pack or two a day if one is all it takes to get going so be it. There's apparently more danger in not having it in the morning if you're going to wind up buying a pack later and having a few out of it. That could easily lead you back a lot quicker.

I agree with what's already been said. Couple of options (to summarize):

1. Have that one cigarette and realize it's way better than a pack(+). Continue to do that until you just don't want it anymore.

2. Up your nic strength in the morning.

3. Try WTA.

4. Try snus. I can get General Snus from a local speedway gas station. It's Swedish snus (I'm pretty sure). I agree that the camel and marlborough snus doesn't compare. Too sweet.

I didn't see this mentioned... You say that you are waiting on pre-filled carts to arrive. What setup are you using? It's possible that better gear (maybe VV) could deliver more satisfaction than what you are currently using.

i'm using 18mg menthol "green smart living". was $19.99 for the kit and it $12.99 for 5 cart replacement. decent product and decent price. once i get my order in the mail, i should be fine because i'll always have a full charge and they're 24mg and they'll likely be better aside from those two aspects.

Definitely invest in a better PV would be my advice. Those little guys are great for giving you some idea of whether or not vaping is a viable option, but as with any vice, the tendency is to escalate. I'd bet money in a year you'll have some PV the size of a milk jug with an extra foot of tanks on the end.

Then again in all fairness, that first cig is pretty hard to get over. You can do it though.

$12.99 for 5 pack of prefilled cartos is freaking insane if you ask me...I am not sure what kind of device that is but if it is a 510 device and your dead set on prefilled cartos (for what ever reason) you can get prefilled cartos from liquidxpress for $7.50 a box of 5 which is like half the price...if your not dead set on prefilleds though go with a box of empty ones that usually sell for $6-8 for a box of 5 and a bottle of juice and fill them your self...you can usually fill them several times over for what your paying for that 5 pack.

That being said its your money and your device but that is my friendly advice.

im not saying the price is good. its just available locally until my package arrives. it's better than paying $8 for one disposable that doesn't even last as long as one cart replacement.

maybe, maybe not. i have only been smoking about a half a pack a day for a year. prior to that a few cigs a day for 6 months. prior to that not a single cigarette in 7 years. so im not super deep into cigarettes, i just want to stop before it gets worse. for me, 2 volt batteries should probably suffice. one can be in use and one can be charging. i may go for the bigger badder stuff later but i also may not.

im currently using 1.8%. i am awaiting the arrival of 15 carts of 2.4% in the mail.

If I was vaping 18mg I'd have my ecig in my mouth incessantly and no way I ever would have switched from Analogs to E-Cigs. You need to order a 36mg+ liquid to get you up in the morning.
heathersheavenlyvapes dot com sells 36mg liquid and has a tremendous selection.

If that doesn't work than you can always buy stronger nicotine base from Wizard Labs or RTS. They sell up to 100mg base and you can spike your liquid higher.
Disclaimer: Read about how to handle higher strength bases in the DIY forum. Be careful when experimenting, if you don't have a high tolerance to nicotine you could get sick or worse.

Vaping at measly strengths is recommended by almost everyone in the forums. I will be politically incorrect and make the statement that vaping at 50mg first thing in the morning it'll both put hair on your chest and take away any residual craving for a cigarette. Disclaimer: Read about how to handle higher strength bases in the DIY forum. Be careful when experimenting, if you don't have a high tolerance to nicotine you could get sick or worse.

Let me qualify this so I don't get tons of people coming down on me and censored by the moderators. This is a choice that is available to you. I do not recommend you vape at 50mg. Do so at your own risk and by disregarding all the people who will tell you not to do it.

On the other hand if Vaping at a higher level in the morning keeps you off of the analogs, it's a no brainer which is the better choice.

50 or 100 might be a little much for me but i would certainly be willing to try out the 36's. 24 was the highest available from the place i got em from so im hoping those will do the trick. if they don't i'll grab some 36mg. thanks for your input.

I know that everyone is different, but for me it wasn't all about the nic strength. Even before vaping I would be chewing on nic gum or wearing the patch and know that I had enough nic in me but still wanted to smoke. Towards the end I would smoke my face off, and still want to smoke.
The same was true when I started vaping - I would know that my nic level was where I wanted it but still wanted to smoke. Gradually I enjoyed vaping more and more and was able to skip the smokes in the a.m. a couple days in a row and that taught me that I could.

I really don't care anymore why this is (I think it has a lot to do with all of the other chemicals in cigs), I just think that there is more to it than just the nic. For those who are interested, here is an interesting read about this:
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibition Dramatically Increases the Motivation to Self-Administer Nicotine in Rats

"it has been shown in several species that nicotine has relatively weak reinforcing properties compared with other addictive drugs. Such a weak reinforcing property cannot explain by itself the intense addictive properties of tobacco smoking, the difficulty most smokers experience in attempting to quit, and the high relapse rates after quitting."
