This is a great thread for me. I just started vaping again after a 2yr break. I never gave up the cigs completely last time. And after a week I still haven't this time. I'm down to half a pack, but beating myself up over it. Going to just try to keep cutting down. It's encouraging to see that other vapors have gone throught the same problems. It's easy to read this forum and get the impression that everyone gave up cigs after their first day vaping.

just got the 24mg and they feel perfect. 18mg just wasnt cutting it, even though i smoked lights and i wasnt a heavy smoker. so ya i think it better to start high and move down if needed.

Congratulations so far! You were smoking 10 per day so you do not need 24mg all day long. You definitely need something extra in the morning. Remind yourself to hit the Vape in the morning, as much as you can, before that smoke. Never let the smoke come first.

Try someting different like a Twist or Volt, if you can. I also found tobacco flavors reminded me of cigarettes. Then I couldn't stand tobacco flavors, then they were OK! All in the space of a month! Lol Don't expect the same thing to work the same everyday. Try different approaches. Keep some 24mg handy for when strong urges hit.

You beat 9 out of 10 smokes! That's Great. The other will drop when you are ready!

I've seen the number one reason why Newbies fail is that they start on e-liquid that is too weak.
If I'm an alcoholic and used to 7 scotches a day. Than you give me 3 sips of beer every hour to replace my scotch. Do you think I'm going to switch to beer? 12mg-18mg is almost laughable for a Marlboro Red Smoker.

I agree, and I recommended earlier in the thread the OP move up in strength. As far as 36 mg, there's no magic number, and I'm sorry if I made it sound that way, but the higher the nic level the more dangerous it is. I've read that somewhere around 36 is where it begins to get that way (but I'm really not an expert). I daresay 36 would make a non-smoker quite ill.

I'm glad the 24mg worked for you. Less is better so no need to go higher. I think that it's better to progress upwards gradually like you did and find the level that's right. For me under 36 never really left me satisfied but that's me and the Vapers like me.

Everyone is different and reacts to Vaping in a different way.

No need to be sorry, All's good.

My feeling is that the 36mg is the maximum that you could put a non-smoker on and not risk injury. When mass marketing the retailers have to worry about lawsuits so they probably found any higher than 36mg and it would create legal liabilities. Some only go as high as 24mg for that reason.

maybe, maybe not. i have only been smoking about a half a pack a day for a year. prior to that a few cigs a day for 6 months. prior to that not a single cigarette in 7 years. so im not super deep into cigarettes, i just want to stop before it gets worse. for me, 2 volt batteries should probably suffice. one can be in use and one can be charging. i may go for the bigger badder stuff later but i also may not.

To each his own. Honestly if you've only smoked regularly for a year, your lungs are probably fairly virgin. I know stressing out makes me want a cig, lol. So chill, you're fine. You'll drop that 1st cig of the day when you're ready.

MY good e-cig kit wasnt even in yet as of this morning(it came in after I got home from work) so I was using a weak disposable e-cig, and I was in a hurry, so instead of immediately going outside to smoke as soon as I got out of bed, I took some drags off my disposable e-cig, and got in the shower and didnt even think about needing a ciggy....

As long as you get nicotine from some source, like an e-cig, that should definitely help curb your appetite for smoking real cigs.
You will have to use a little will power, but as long as you are getting nicotine, the rest is all psychological....

still havent had one today and probably wont. my gf will have cigs when i get home though she'll give me s**t if i have one since i told her once i had a good setup i wouldnt be using them at all.

So you are where all this stress is coming from! Stop doing this to yourself. There is no time limit on this. If you don't enjoy it then it will become something to avoid.

If I need a cigarette, I will have one. It may be bad for my health; but it might save someone else's life! (If you know what I mean) Lol
