Ok - thanks to all the info and this forum and youtube I made a decision to go with the Volt.

I am a pack a day, Marlboro Gold, smoker and don't know what strength to start with. The Pro Starter Pack comes with two lithium batteries and I thought I would get one manual and one auto but have no idea about the Flavor & strength. The 1.8 is high and the 2.4 is very high.

Any suggestions to get me started
Thanks
Overwhelmed but getting there

Welcome Overwhelmed. The decision to go with the Vlot is fine. Many use it and have nothing but praise for it. As for your nic level that's a bit harder for anyone but yourself to discern. Generally speaking the 24mg is where many start. Your body will tell you very quickly if it is too strong or not strong enough. Good luck!

Go with 18mg because when you start you won't wana put it down when you find the flavor that suits you. Avoid tobacco flavored at the start they don't taste anything like tobacco. After a few weeks-1minth you might try and revisit tobacco type flavors even tho they are not the tobacco you remember they are quite good(some)

Welcome to the ECF Overwhelmed :)
There's a ton of stuff to learn but you're on the right track.
Don't be discouraged if you have a setback (or 2) while you sort out what your body needs.
Once you get the right setup and juices you'll be on your way.
At one point all of us were where you are right now so don't be shy with any questions
Best of luck to you :)

1 PAD very strong analogs 40+ yrs. Started on 36 mg and am now down to 20 mg, 10 mg in the evening cuz 20 interfered with sleep. I would get 24 mg and 18 mg. Juice can always be mixed DOWN to a lower level of nicotine (with PG and/ or vg easily and cheaply purchased at the pharmacy) but never up unless you have flavorless nic juice. Blank cartomizers are prolly the easiest way to start. Buy juice and re fill the cartomizers. Manual batteries are less prone to damage from juice and put YOU in control of the vape as you can hold the button that activates the heating coil and vaporizes the juice down longer.

Hi All
I smoked a pack of hand rolling tobacco (25g) Old Holborn Blue every 2 days .
I started of at 18mg. After about 2 months I had reduced it to 16mg and now to 12mg.
I started with and still prefer tobacco flavors in general but not exclusively . I also like Coffee , Caramel and chocolate flavors (sometimes mixed with Tobacco).

I suggest try something between 18 and 24mg initially and see if this fulfills your craving. You can always reduce it later.
Personally I would suggest a tobacco flavour initially. Try and see.
Buy only small quantities of different flavours initially to experiment and see what you personally like.

Just as vaping is a very personal prog so is your choice of flavors. I HATED menthol but Vets told me new vapers enjoy menthol in their juice and they were absolutely right. You can find your fave juice and buy menthol drops separately- gives a nice mellow taste and a mallow "kick". My fave juices are Tobacco- RY4, TA, Black Perique and DKTab. Tough enuff to reaserch a PV but even tougher to find a juice IMHO.

was a pack a day smoker for 18 years prior to vaping. initially switched using 24mg juice, but actually found that i was vaping so much that it was too strong. got the nicotine high for the first time in years, not entirely pleasant :)

switched to a couple of 16-18mg juices and have been chain-vaping all day every day since. no cravings, no unpleasantries, just pleasure.

I agree with ian . After starting and getting off the analogues on tends to drop the nic level one vapes.
As time goes on you tend to vape more and so you need to lessen the nic content.

Buy more. Buy all types of flavors, buy extra, buy blanks, buy juice. Buy extra batteries, buy an extra charger, entertain a 510 pass through and buy adapters for it to use ur 808 carts. Madvapes is a good place to start.

Edit: dont forget to account for shipping time. Don't be left "out" of supplies you regret it trust me, I made that mistake

I was PAD Mbro Special Blend 100 smoker, and smoked full flavor 100s for most of 25 years. I went right for the 18mg, and it has been fine. My wife was a committed ultralight 100 smoker at about a half PAD, and it works for her as well. 6mg didn't work for either of us.

As you can see, it's hard to say what will work and what won't.

Good luck

Welcome to ECF and Information Overload. I would get a bottle or 2 of 24mg and also 18mg. IMHO, you're going to find 18mg suitable to keep you off cigs but the 24mg will come in handy when a bad craving hits. As for good juices, taste is subjective (I hate saying that but it's true) so just search around and read the juice review section. If something looks appealing, try it. Only YOU will know what you like and what you don't like. Also, no eliquid is going to taste like a burning cig. Yes, there are some that are close but there isn't a "dead-on" match to it.
