I actually like the smell of a freshly lit cigarette, especially outdoors. And if an attractive woman is smoking it -- oh my!

But I also understand that calling them disparaging names such as "stinkies" is a psychological defense mechanism for some people...

Cigarettes don't have a very pleasant odor. But "Cigarettes" they are. "Stinkies" unnecessarily editorializes and is so juvenile. Call cigarettes what they are.
Man, what a politically correct world this has become when someone decides that calling a cigarette a "stinkie" is juvenile. Whose feelings are getting hurt? Big tobacco?

I've always been challenged to understand why some folks on a vaping forum call a cigarette an "analog". Where did that come from? Does that mean I should call my e-cigarette a "digital"?

Just my :2c:

Some vapes are, and some vapes aren't. One with a DNA board in it? Yep, definitely digital. But a mech with nothing more than a switch and a battery, nah...

I never did use that word. Just seems silly somehow.

I generally call them cigs. I don't feel anger or hate or anything like that towards them, enjoyed them for a long time really. They were my friends. I tend to blame me rather than the cigs.

Cigarette smell can vary quite a bit. One factor I seem to have noticed that is detremental is the humidity level.

I've always thought a better name would be 'burnies' but then someone called Bernard would probably chime in with 'what' ?.
As long as people know what the term means it serves a purpose. I always read 'stinky' as 'cigarette' anyway so i'm pretty ambivalent towards the word :pervy:

I am with you. I cannot stand PC nonsense. It has gotten way out of control.

Freshly lit Marlboro red at the park smells so good to me.

Speaking of smells, I was in a tobacconists the other day. I didn't want to leave. When the time came, I left with a heavy heart and some snuff.

Cigarette smoke can be a bit of a treat; smoky clothes, less so.

In the UK, people sometimes refer to ciggies as "fags". I guess it's quick to say.

I have never called them an analog and also not sure when that term popped up....it might have been here that I first heard it...
Yeah, but where did the "analog" term come from?
