Strange side effects of switching to Provari

I realized today that my vaping habits changed when getting a Provari.

I feel like I've been vaping for a while. Over 2 years now, and ecigs were very different back then. Started with cig-a-likes, then eGo in every variety, finally APVs and I've owned 4 of them and tried 80% of them. I resisted the Provari for so long. Too expensive, I said. It's overkill I thought. It's just a battery, it can't possibly be any better than the majority of the stuff out there.

I was so wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. Can't say it enough. Wrong. But once I switched, I now realize, HOW I vape changed. Owning a Provari has some interesting side effects:

I started enjoying vaping a little bit more. It become much more of a hobby then satisfying a nicotine craving. I joined this forum, a place I have only ever gone to look for answers to questions. I've started striking up conversations with other Provari owners online and in the real world. I haven't been on a forum in 10 years. I barely knew they still existed! Yet here I am. 3-4 times daily! I made a signature (with help), I joined a folding @ home group and then gave the site $24!For no reason, except to see what all of you are up to because we use the same battery! Mind blowing. Also, thank you, because you guys are great and helped steer me toward getting the right Provari stuff, which leads me to...

I also went a little nuts buying everything I could for it. How can you put a $12 tank on a $160 battery? You can't. You can actually, with an adapter, so yes I bought one of those too. But you feel guilty. My Provari deserves a better tank, right?! Well I had to have 3 of those Cirrus tanks, because 3 is better than 1 (almost always). Then I needed cartos. Of course the next shop I went to had a shorty double heat treated pyrex carto tank (drool)...so why not one of those too!? Oh and short cartos to go with them. Cheap batteries? Not in my Provari! All new AW cells, 350's and while I'm here, how about 490's...sure! Oh, I need an extension cap for that? Awesome, throw that in too. I can't charge those in my crappy charger, I need a $50 charger with overcharge protection. Drip tips? Why do I need 5 of them? I only use one at a time. But I bought 5. And of course they match the Provari. Cleaning kit, check. LUBE! I bought lube for the threads of my Provari. Yes, approved joint compound, for an ecig. Double mind blown.

Perhaps the best side effect is that after using the Provari Mini for a little bit, I found that I was using it so much more than my last APV that I had to go from 18mg juice to 6mg. It didn't take long, a week or two. I used to vape 18mg all day (I thought) but I love the Mini so much that it rarely leaves my hand or sight. Which means it gets hit 2-3x more than any other battery I have used. I loved smoking. I was a 2 pack a day guy. I used to use 24mg juice. 6mg used to be like 0 to me. Now all the juices I'm ordering are 6mg. Why? Because I can't put it down! It makes every hit taste better somehow, magically. It feels better in my hand. I'm vaping 2-3x more, I had to drop the nicotine just to stay on my feet. Why am I dizzy? I'm not usually dizzy. Oh, I vaped 3+ ml of 18mg juice today! That's funny, it was like 1.0-1.6ml before...

The last side effect is not a great one. Now I look down on most everything else. Don't get me wrong...some of that custom mechanical stuff is downright beautiful. It's art, I get it and I respect it. It's just not for me. The Provari Mini has completely redefined the bar for me. I feel bad judging people for not using a Provari, but I can't help it. I feel bad for them. I want them to enjoy vaping as much as I do. But then I don't, because what if everyone used a Provari and then somehow mine would be less special? GASP! Which is totally silly, but terrifying because it really is just that special! For the 3rd or 4th time now in only this thread...mind blown. (exploding sound)

Until you use one, and I mean more than just try it once in a shop but use it for a week or two and hold it and love it and maybe name it george...then you simply have no idea that anyone can feel that way about a battery.

When I get one, I will not be naming it "George".
Just sayin'

I have my mini now for one week.
It has changed my habits too.
I can't put the thing down.
Tomorrow I am going to buy an extension cap, bigger batteries and a decent charger.

I already went a bit crazy on carto tanks so I am kinda set on those (yeah right)

I still have my 2 twists. Maybe I will give them away to the next person who tells me they wanna quit.

I tell myself I am done. Why would I need a second VV? Why would anyone? But does anyone only have 1 Provari? Anyone? Beuller?

Another side effect is hanging out with members of the ProVarinati who are all excited about getting new toys. I'm content with my ProVarii, but I wanted something to get excited about too. I just bought another Phidias.

It really wasn't such a bad idea. I love my Phiddy and fono hardly makes any, since it's a hobby. He's also been experimenting with other kinds of circuitry lately and it occurred to me that he might not make any of the simple bottom-feeders anymore - actually, I'm not sure if he has made any in over a year. She might very well be the last of her kind.

As I say to all new Provari owners, now you know what mere words can not explain. You must hold one, vape one, and own one before you can truly understand.

Bad,
You should also warn us that one Provari can be lonely thing. Mine keeps whispering to me saying it wants a companion. I'm trying to resist but I keep hearing 'I'd really like some company' and 'remember, you always need a backup on your backup' or 'the red is sooo pretty!' I haven't found a way to make it stop!

Wait a minute here, are you talking about the Provari or the Trojan Twister?

I can relate to the behavior change. With my eGo, I was nursing on it more for nic needs. I would crave it all day mostly directly because of hunger for nicotine. With the Provari, I get more sentimental about the entire vapor experience. I actually respect the device and enjoy it as a ritual, more than a habit.

I don't have this constant feeling that I "need" it to keep my nic levels up. Instead, I can handle waiting longer between vapes because I know that when I return to it I will get fulfillment.

I hope I explained that well.

tl;dr - I don't feel like a e-juice crackhead with my Provari

Did you match your nails to the tank? If so GREAT JOB! :)

Got mine last night!
I don't have the heart to cover him in the wrap just yet, he's just so pretty!
And I can't put him down! Must hold him all the time, the weight is taking some getting used to but I can't get over how amazing this thing feels!
