Been having a bad couple of weeks were i have been back on the death sticks. Costing a fortune smoking 35 a day. What makes it worse is I've got a great little collection of vapes and decent setup going to waste now. Any advice to get away from them. It's them first few on the morning with a cup of coffee what's the worst then it's like well I've had a few now and continue to smoke throughout the day. And the cycle repeats

Sorry to hear your having a hard time. If your using a low Nic level maybe you should up your juice's nic level and see if that helps. Also I've bought a few cheap tanks so I can switch flavors when I want, this way I don't get burned out before I can switch flavors.

I know this is kind of a lame idea but just throw the smokes away. When I first quit I almost vaped nonstop but at least it was better than smoke.

The easiest way to say this is you have to exercise some willpower. Try it a little at a time. Pick one activity that you associate with smoking and replace it with vaping. Such as driving a car or after a meal. Pretty soon it will be second nature.

You can also try keeping your cigs in your car forcing you to go out there instead of mindlessly grabbing for them but keep your vapegear handy at all times.

Ditto to what everyone else said.
What worked for me was cutting down gradually over a week or two. 20+ cigs a day, down to 10 a day after a weeks vaping. Then 3 cigs a day for the last 2 days - 1 after each meal. You just need to keep telling yourself how well you're doing and come on here for some support when you feel like smoking :D

I agree with all of the above but might add smoking a brand of ciggs you don't like, to further Your mind into not liking them. Also remember there is many many other things in ciggs vaping only replaces nicotine your body needs to get use not having all those other nasty chemicals , stay strong vape on. and come here often for encouragement and support

I agree with some of the others..
when you want a cig, vape for a while first. then if you want the cig, have it. this "delay" tactic worked for me. soon my first cig of the day was at 1 in the afternoon. and so on until the first cig of the day was right before bed :) I did not rush, stress, beat myself up about quitting cigs. and when I had a cig I did not feel guilty :)

oh and here is a support thread for people who don't quit instantly :)

I found quitting very easy to do by using the higher nic for the first 3 weeks. 2.4

Make sure you have plenty available and don't worry about how much you vape. And do remember that it does take a bit
longer for the nic to get into your system with the vaping vs. analogs. Sit and relax with vaping for a few minutes of some 2.4 and wait just a few minutes. Within 3-5 minutes the urge to have an analog should pass. It can be tough but if you make a simple decision to vape first, analog second, it may help.

    Good luck!!

Chain vape on a higher nic level before getting a cig. I had cravings at first but knew that it was withdrawals and they typically will last only a few minutes for most/some people. So I didn't deny myself a cig but just made myself vape first, then the urge was gone. The morning coffee was the worst for me. btw remember everyone is different.

That first one over coffee is the hardest, IMHO. What did it for me was cleaning the smell and residue out of my house and, putting that emergency, in case vaping didn't work pack in the freezer, all ashtrays gone, in the trash Lighter is a drawer, in the back, hard to get to. PV handy, filled and ready to go first thing in the morning and waiting right beside the coffee maker.

Great, now if you really want to smoke you have to 1. fill a glass with water to use as an ashtray. 2. Use a plate or bowl you eat from as one. 3. Go outside. And you sill need to dig out a lighter, get those frozen coffin nails out of the freezer and - Oh you haven't done all that yet, and your coffee is ready - just have a vape you'll be fine. :)

I started with tobacco flavored cartomizers, before I switched to an atomizer (with a tobacco/caramel/vanilla juice). Nic level is tricky; I needed more nic than I expected, but otherwise, my transition was flawless.

You mentioned that you smoke about 35 analogs a day; what is the nicotine level of the juice you are vaping?

My B+M guy started me out on 36mg Marlboro. The first day I was dizzy as hell. I stuck with it till it got too harsh and started adding fruit flavors to smooth it out. The more I vaped the worse smokes tasted. I still don't have any interest in the tobacco flavors. Gradually I reduced the nic level. It took me a year to get to zero. I still vape flavors with low nic, but I can't really tell the difference.

I agree with all the suggestions on here, they are great! When I got my starter kit and juice, I was advised to start with 12mg. Did that for a few days while still smoking analogs and felt it wasn't enough. Went to a B&M, got some 18mg and within a day I was completely done with cigarettes. I just recently came back down to a 12mg because the 18mg was too harsh on my throat. But still analog free! Maybe a temporary increase in nic is all you need. Stay strong and you'll be smoke free soon! You've already done the best thing by purchasing the gear...don't give up now :)
