Sorry, for the mistyped title. "absorption"

I don't know if this has been discussed already, but here it is anyways.

Nicotine absorption from electronic cigarette use: comparison between first and new-generation devices.

Dr. Farsalinos Study:
Nicotine absorption from electronic cigarette use: comparison between first and new-generation devices : Scientific Reports : Nature Publishing Group

This article states that 50mg nicotine is the closest to a Real cigarette!
So I guess 24mg would be comparable to a Light cigarette or Ultra light?

This is some interesting information.

It's pretty weird to think about though when I consider my own vaping experiences. I've experienced some nic od symptoms before, when puffing on my pv while trying to fix something (using 18mg). I can't imagine getting an absorption amount comparable with a cigarette & not feeling sick because of it.

It makes me wonder if one of the things added to cigarettes is something that allows absorption of more nicotine without od affects.

50mg seems really really high. I started out at 36mg & it didn't take very long for that level to be waaaaay too high for me.

Without a doubt, lord know's how many chemicals and what they do to us. BUT I will say this is what still gets me, I need the quick nic absorption. I have tried 18mg nic but prefer 9 or 12, 18 just gets me sometimes.

I just don't buy the results or else I don't think they're comprehensive. I started on 24mg after 25 years of 2.5 packs a day of a brand containing 19mg per pack. I vaped (and continue to vape) in pretty much exactly the same manner and duration as I smoked, and I usually do 6-7ml of juice in a day. The 24mg at that rate was way too high and made me nauseous in the same manner as binge smoking Camel unfiltered.

There has to be something wrong with this study. No way could we vape 50 mg! Obviously, blood nic levels aren't comparable, or don't tell the whole story. Did you notice that this researcher used another study by a different researcher for the blood results?

best regards, larry mac

Actually there are a few people right here on this forum that vape 50mg regularly.

I'm glad to see the study, thanks OP. I'd seen Dr. Farsalinos bring it up in an interview, but hadn't seen the study itself.

I too wish new vapers worried less about too much nicotine, and more about too little. Only your body alone can tell you each of these things, but it's understandably confusing at first.

I'm still using a moderate amount (20-24mg) in a Kayfun/dripper, two months smoke free, and don't feel any ill effects. I don't really foresee my body telling me to bump it down, unless I get into considerably higher-wattage vaping. But, time will tell! (While smoking, I also drank coffee at every waking moment; I just like "lots", I guess)

And believe it or not, we can vape 50mg. Someone on the forums vapes 50mg at 50+ watts. More power to him!

In fact a couple years back, someone on the forum vaped 100mg nic. They described it as harsh, and they couldn't chain vape it. Unlike ingestion or whatever other method, when vaping your body will let you know long before you reach the point of danger.
