$937, lol. I made the shims from a scrap cut from a disposable pie tin, probably thick aluminum. I worked/stretched the scrap flat and shiny with the rounded top of my deodorant stick and then cut a couple strips. Only takes a couple minutes.

The strips are hard enough to hold shape while bending to fit around the ridge for the magnet slot. After they are placed assemble switch (but not rice pin or screw) and give it a couple twists till it turns easy and goes up/down without sticking. This seats the shims, then the pin and screw are placed.

Both buttons feel about the same, no crunch, no wobble.

Don't mind me asking but why do you need shims?

Thanks Eric. Which one performs the best, and what how did you make you shims? The listing has ended now, but on the up side someone else is listing a genuine SX for $937, what a bargin.

Lol.
When I see listings like this, (insanely high price for an average item) I suspect its a disguised shady money transfer.

Then again it could just be some choad who thinks his Stingray is valuable.

To fix a crunchy button because the parts do not fit as tight as they should.
Are those crunchy buttons spring or magnetic? I had a crunchy button on the spring loaded Nemesis.. Use magnetic buttons ever since..lol

Would you say the thickness was comparable to a soft drink can?

SX uses magnets. Magnets or springs makes no difference, its the clearance tolerance of the post that runs from the bottom button into the top assembly that causes the wobble. Hence the shims, which fill the gap between them.

It wasn't that thick, but if you place the metal on a hard surface and rub it with a rounded object (screwdriver handle will work) the metal will get as thin as you want. This is what I meant when I mentioned stretching the metal in my earlier post.

In my tablet docs they look right side up, oh well.

Love the side button on the Poldiac, that is a nice mod. The GP is a clone, but the button is very nice, pinkie fires easily. The other two took fiddling through my parts bin to get right, made by Vape 7 with button top batteries in mind and a solid top pin, so flush fitting will take having extra pins on hand.

The 18650 Vape 7 is supposed to have a titanium tube and it does feel light. These have nice recessed magnetic switches that feel nice.
