Gone AWOL
I wouldn't consider the site overly difficult to navigate and I've always found what I was looking for fairly quickly, but a few times I have found myself searching 2-3 categories before finding the right ones. I like the drilled down approach, but I find some of the categories confusing. Personally, I would separate the atomizers and accessories. If I want an atomizer I wouldn't want browse through lanyards and such to find them. I also agree that a mod or apv section would be helpful. There are also spots where categories are drilled down 2-3 layers when I think 1-2 would be sufficient. As an example, I know that for most products once you click on it you get the various options, colors etc, but I don't necessarily expect to find the accessories there as well. While reading this thread I looked for tank cartomizers. I saw the tank category and assumed if I clicked it it would pull up various colored/size tanks. I didn't expect the cartomizers there as well and would have expected them as a separate category one tier higher. On another note, I am also not a fan of branding. This isn't a knock against Gotvapes in any way. I don't care for any vendor branding products. In an industry struggling with inconsistency and knockoffs you can't tell if one product is the same as another just because they look same. Throw various names for the same item into the mix and it only confuses things further. As an example, I recall searching for a very long time as a newer vaper trying to determine if a ce4 and phoenix bottom coil were the same thing. I had seen I positive review of the ce4, but didn't know if the phoenix was the same product so I ended up ordering from a site that did call them ce4's. This of course is only my opinion, but hopefully there is some feedback in there you might find useful Danno.

Ummm, I would like to see:

  • The cartomizers and clearomizers have their own catagory.-with links to associated items.
  • Keep all the MODS in one category-with links to associated items, especially batteries
  • Have all the Kits in their category-with links to associated items.
  • RBA category or "Advanced/RBA's" (start carrying wick and Kanthal):)
  • All the accessories in their own category.

well I have been gotvapes site many times and just noticed the links on the top of the page..thought the only 1's were on the side...the only thing I would like to see is bold tabs (like on folders) across the top of page ..MODs, Kits/batteries, clearo/atom etc.. oh and I think all the flavors and juices can go under 1 link instead of 2...

Sounds pretty good to me, I have no issue with the site as is. But that doesn't mean it can't still be better (it can, but will take a decent amount of reworking everything). I also 2nd carrying more things for more advanced users

OK, well sorry if my original comment was overly rude. I guess if I said it more politely, no one would have noticed it?

One more comment I will make and then I am done -

I know some people have commented that they like the pictures on the site. However, one thing that I notice is that when clicking on a main category from the left, you are generally presented with pictures of many sub category items. The pictures are kind of small and having the pictures makes the text describing the items small. For my older eyes, the pictures often are too small to visually identify what the category is exactly and I end up having to really squint at the text and read through it all to find what I am looking for.

Now sometimes that isn't a problem for generic items, say Atomizers and Accesories - I can see the battery very clearly and there is no question what that category is without reading. But look at eCig Kits and accessories. Man I can't tell what most of that stuff is without reading the text which I don't find easy to read.

So in addition to organization, to me the other issue is layout - Fonts/Colors are not easy to read and the pictures don't help a lot. Maybe if I had better eyes or if the pics and text were about 3 times larger I wouldn't have made my original comment.

It all comes down to simplification is your friend when it comes to the impression that you make on a commerce website. Easy to read, easy to see pictures and easy to navigate. When you search find the items you are searching on top, not page 2 etc.

Well, good luck. Sorry if I ruffled any feathers, but I really believe that there is room for improvement that would be reflected in additional customers and sales.

I've never had any problems navigating your site but incase this thread moves you to do some updates I thought I would throw out some ideas.

*front page in both the banner and the product showcase you have product shown you no longer sell

*batteries I would list sub-categories Leave the main battery page the same but have the left look like this:

batteries
-----510/stick
-----ego
-----bolt/mechanical
-----apv

----forum wont let me tab to indent

* in cartos the ego clearomizer line picture would look better if you took a picture of all the products in that category together so customers would know there is more than stardust in that category

* I like the tank and advanced page but it would be cool if there was a picture with several or the rba devices in the banner on the home page

* apparel section could use a few new t-shirts. You have some very creative customers, maybe next time you throw a contest like the easter-egg contest you could do t-shirt designs.

Thanks Wally - good thing to point out. Actually if you first click the magnifying glass icon next to the search icon you can refine your search and actually uncheck the box where it says "Seach product descriptions" and do other refinements of your search.

It may not be a bad idea to do a Camtasia video demo on how to navigate (explaining the logic behind it) and how to maximize your search results (in twelve easy steps! jk)...

As the wizard would have said, "Well, why didn't you say that." (dunno where I was going with that, something from the wizard of Oz)
Anyway Danno, I think you would be better served if title only was the default search for that box. And get rid of the magnifier (or at the very least have a hover popup for advanced search) and just call it advanced search for any other options, including descriptions. That's gotta be the biggest turn off for a new visitor if they put in search term and get 200 items in return. Sure what they are looking for is probably in the listing but they're getting peeved at each new page to look through.

As a newbie, there are a couple of things that I would find to be easier. On ecf there is a sub section for clearomizers, I found them on your site but it was in a subsectionof the ones listed on the left. But it would be great to have a catagory that says clearomizers. As a newbie these terms are very confusing, and having clearly seperate sections helps.

A big complaint for me is that dimensions are almost never listed, this is for almost all sites. For me Size Matters (it's a girl thing....but this time I want it to be small). I ordered a Provari, the warranty appeals to me (I kill everything) but so does the size. I want a small vv mod. I have been looking for a backup, again small and I can't see me likening the box mod's. Finding dimentions is very frustrating, and to me that should be in every description. I got a cheap lava tube v1 off kijiji, but it is so big I don't even want it as my backup. I have been looking for a small vv for my backup, and I am so frustrated that it is difficult to find dimentions.

Bad or Danno, I spent my days as a senior executive for internet companies. Specifically in online advertising, web search, and business development. I started early back when AltaVista was the biggest search engine online and AOL was an infant. I worked for search engines and specialized in converting traffic into clicks and sales. I was well paid for it also.

I gotta say, for the average user the site is difficult to navigate. For me I can find anything even on the hardest sites. And at times I have to dig deeper on your site when I really shouldnt have to. Plus, it is cluttered but thats easily fixed.

If you want, PM me and Ill make some notes on what you can do to make the site more user friendly and convert sales. As well as ideas on how you can track your conversions. Wont even charge ya a dime. Just because I feel like being useful. I wont go into any more here so PM me if you want some help with it.

You might already know this but the battery used in the device gives a good idea of the dimensions. The numbers represent the size of the battery for instance an 18650 is about 18 mm width 65 mm length. Once you know how long the battery is you can guesstimate the full length and the width shouldn't be too much greater than the batteries width.

Once I purchased one yes. Maybe it's just me,but I don't think that I should go and have to search the size of the battery and then try to guess what size the pv is. To me it a spec that should be included. For some size is a deal breaker. I am one of those people, I am a woman, and have very small hands. I am outside a lot in what can be very low temp's ( we hit -40C every year, and sometimes for a long time). Size helps determine what is workable for a person.

Maybe I'm wrong, the industry I work in this always a concern. I just found it frustrating to look at so many, and not see a width x length dimention. It actually pushed me towards a provari.
