I sent the author my latest list of published research, asking whether the the president of the local chapter of the American Lung Association was fibbing when he said "There is no scientific evidence that these products help people kick their habit” or just too busy to go to PubMed and look up the research.

I also suggested some "fun with investigative journalism" including some pointed questions the reporter could ask the FDA. Of course, I included the correct answers and provided references.

These groups really walk around with blinders on. I read your comment and as usual great job!! we are lucky to have you on our side!!
You probably read some of the other comments....some really good stuff, this quote stood out to me for some reason.."It seems as if the anti tobacco groups are really ANTI NICOTINE groups lately. Harm reductions works and should be embraced by these people"

Some promising quotes from the article though ...

But although some public-health groups are worried about the growing popularity of e-cigarettes, Arizona Department of Health Services Director Will Humble does not share those concerns.

Humble said that smokers may need a variety of nicotine-replacement options to kick the habit, including tobacco-free e-cigarettes.

“My attitude is, whatever works,” Humble said. “It is the tobacco that is killing people.”

Glynn, of the American Cancer Society, said that the public-health community needs to keep an open mind about e-cigarettes.

“Our Number 1 goal, our mission, is to make (tobacco) cigarettes obsolete,” Weiss said.

Agreed, especially coming from Glynn of the American Cancer Society!!
Though, I am getting tired of seeing the same old FDA study....In one analysis of cartridges from two e-cigarette samples, the FDA found one sample with diethylene glycol, a chemical used in antifreeze. Other samples contained carcinogens. This is just getting beat to death.

Greetz 2coils.

If you review the trend on e-cig articles ... the ship is gradually turning.

The BS is slowly abating, since it's only the FDA, their mouthpiece puppet associations and interest groups that are squawking. Until 'Joe Citizen' takes up picket signs, not much too be concerned about. Only very gullible and easily frightened people plugged into the matrix so to speak swallow all the FDA & BP crap hook, line and sinker.

Things looking up instead of down. Good indicators ... not what is, but where it's going.

Elaine, if there was a right person for the job, you are it. I don't know how this is going to play in the long run, but without you and the efforts of CASAA, the situation would be much worse. Hopefully our numbers have grown to a level that the vendors will be in a position to challenge any misdirection the FDA promulgates.

I wouldn't expect a response, retraction, or follow up article from this so-called journalist. One of the features of the internet is that one does not need to do any research and cross reference any sources. All you need to do is find something online that falls in line with what you already believe to be the truth, jump in that camp, and then yell at everyone else to get off your lawn. It's sad that journalism appears to be following this trend as well and that real investigative reporting is all but gone now.

... If the FDA goes overboard with regulation I truely think vapers are going to go bonkers. ....

If the FDA goes Overboard on the Regulations, I think Lorillard’s Business is going to go Bonkers.

And Everyone else’s is going to get Pushed Out and Shut Down.

Im not so sure about that....too too many vapers, I dont think they are going to go down quietly!!

So where are you going to get your Nicotine from, beside someone like Lorillard/Blu, if they Restrict Internet Sales and if County and City Business Licenses Prohibit Mass Sales of “Tobacco Products”?

I do think the Blu and Njoy models are in a good place as far as regulation. I read Njoy has 40% of the market. They will "REALLY" benefit if the cigalikes are the only to survive! And Im sure BLU is fine with that too. We all know its the small vendor selling e liquid that is in trouble.

Isn’t this why Blu is doing an Exponential Expansion?

To fill the Void when all the “Kitchen” e-Liquid makers are gone.

I am in full agreement! My point is... I like the response we are getting from fellow vapers. From everything I see they are already speaking up!
