Yes, they are expensive. In machining, it all comes down to the steps, tool changes and time involved. With the super six, there are alot of machining steps that others don't have. The fishmouth, the 30 degree vent holes, the grooves, knurling, button, all require tool changes and often unchucking and rechucking of them from the lathe to the mill. The caps are one of the more unique (and time consuming)caps found on the market as the
threads are integral and machined into the cap itself, not the 2 dollar pre made press in adapters that many
mods use. (and not that there is really any wrong with those, but it just comes down to cost).
I look at the Super6 as the Lexus or Rolex of PV's, something that you are definitely proud to own. It's a great conversation piece
I am looking into a simpler, less expensive version that eliminates all the more complex machining steps, but that is a ways off, so stay tuned.
