I am simply curious how the vapors out there, who use devices like Blu, njoy, Vuse etc feel about the ties to and financial aspects of vaping, but also supporting putting money in BT pockets. I am not downing a single soul who wants to vape and am more than happy people switch regardless of device, I am just curious as to what some of you guys think about purchasing from those kinds of manufacturers?

We put money in BT's coffers every day, smoking or not. They own so many other companies: Kraft, Nabisco, brewing companies, financial services, insurance companies, hotels and real estate, to name a few. It would be a real challenge to avoid them totally.

I agree, I mean me personally I try not to support certain areas of industry but it is almost impossible.

I think ::cough:: it's important to support big ::cough:: ::cough:: tobacco. There are a ::cough:: ::cough:: lot of jobs provided by Big Tobacco ::cough::::cough::::cough:: and they generate a huge amo::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough::unt of taxes that benefit all Americans. Big Tobacco has never ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough::::cough::let us down by have their product explode on us so they wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwill (sorry, felt a shooting pain in my left arm) make sure the batteries are safe and ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: if they've learned nothing ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: from their lost lawsuits, it that the chemicals will have to be ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: safe. Hang on, I have to go plug in my oxygen. ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough:: ::cough::

I think its great really! Think about it like this. A new vaper goes out and buys a Blu and thinks to him/herself "wow this is really great, I think I like this". As some time goes on they have totally quit smoking Newports and made the switch to the Blu, but they start to wonder if there is more vapor and flavor to be had. They hop onto the internet and come across, say, ECF Forum and learn about this whole big world that is vaping and decide they want some sub-ohm vape clouds of there own. They buy an ego kit and slowly move along until they are rocking a .2 coil in a mephisto on an authentic panzer blowing huge clouds and making youtube videos to try and get others like themselves to do the same. So now in turn lorilard (company that makes blu and newport) has taken a customer who would have probably been with them for life and turned them out on vaping and because of that will more than likely never see another dime of there money.
I love it, BT is in effect opening the doors to there customers and escorting them right out. :D

It's a nice thought, and it makes a little sense. Just gotta keep hoping BT keeps on putting out barely mediocre products like Blu and Vuse, and our stuff and our entrepreneurs (here and in China) creating and vending the good stuff are quite easy to be found, JUST beneath the surface.

Ha, I like it!

It would be great if it worked that way all the time. Only thing is, I know some people who tried those and hated them and won't even try a better setup. I think a lot of reading at ECF would help a whole bunch of people. But, alas, it seems there are multitudes who don't even know we exist, even people who already vape!

I just really hope that some of the current e-cig manufacturers continue on with their own products, BT keeps making plays, buying companies, and attempting to buy out a lof of electronic cigarette companies. They have really only aquired the starters for now like blu but who knows. I keep thinking in my head things like "Kanger! Now proudly brought to you by RJ Reynolds" or some other such thing ya know?

Well I gave them my comments, and I hope everyone else in this thread has, or is going to comment before the 8th.
I don't think they'll do much, and it'll take them quite a while to do what they will. Congress isn't the only part of our government that is almost completely frozen and broken.

Big Tobacco companies are a double edge sword.

On one side they have the advertising power to get e-cigs on national TV ads for increased exposure for smokers to see that there is an alternative to smoking.

One the other hand they make a pretty lousy product, causing some novices to believe that e-cigs suck and they go back to smoking. Or, some will do some research to find better products and finally get off of the smokes.

A big fear amongst a few people in the know is that the FDA will in some way turn over the regulation of e-cigs over to Big Tobacco. Or at least go with regulations which will favor Big Tobacco to monopolize the e-cig trade. Big Tobacco would love to see bottled e-liquid be banned and only sold in pre-filled, child-resistant, cartridges. Offer only tobacco and menthol flavors, no candy/fruit/desert flavors because we all know those flavors attract children to use them.

Big Tobacco has been buying out the e-cig liquid nicotine suppliers to create a monopoly of nicotine suppliers. There is nothing fair going on when it comes to the tobacco companies. They are in the business to make money and they are cut throat businessmen, and if they can gain the majority of market share they could care less about the declining tobacco cigarette sales. Those are already being targeted and consumed by Third World Countries to get yet another generation hooked on the stinkies.

Big Tobacco is not our friend.
