Im still getting a burnt taste. Ohms at .7 is this why?? Also if i tear it down and clean it. Build a coil again, wil i damage the
kayfun if i do a dry burn to adjust any hot spots?
I am using 1/16th ceramic right now, one single piece, 4 wraps of 30 awg kanthal. Comes in at 1.5 ohms. Vapes great at 3.5 watts. Laid in the 's' shape.
My last build was with ecowool I have all sizes now but started out with the 1mm stuff. I made the double loop method, I trim my wick so that it reaches the top of the chamber. Pulled the loops until they were in the right place then trimmed off the long ends. Then I add some
eliquid to it all and gently nudge the loops down to reach the bottom of the chamber. Add more
juice and then test burn. If all is good I close her up and fill through the fill hole. (I have never had any problems with the fill hole)
If I get a slow starter I will cover the air hole and do a quick suck....this pulls the juice into the chamber. Once you vape it a while it will keep filling itself.
I don't find any benefit to ultra low ohm coils with a silica build to be honest. I vape fruits mostly. 11 watts is about the highest I will go on silica. Stainless steel is another ball of wax, I will vape ss at much higher wattage due to the heatsink effect.
The flavor that I get from the Kayfun is outstanding. As I am drawing the white peach flavor collects under my tongue and is yummy. I have just about every rebuild able out there but the Kayfun is the best on flavor.
It won't hurt to do a dry burn but you will have to empty the tank first. I would try the primer suck first though as silica does swell when wet.
