Yeah the little glass tank goes pretty quick. I usually fill them at night and by the end of work the next day its usually just about empty. I'm just worried about the bigger glass section getting broken, I already broke and replaced one of the little glass tanks and now keep it its own pocket.

Yup. No broken tanks here, yet. Just a matter of time. Busted glass on several of my SOV kits on KFLs. Hopefully somebody can throw a caliper on the long mode glass and send it to spectrum tanks. They told me the same tubing in different lengths is not a big deal.

Hello,

This thread has now reached well over 3000 posts......

I was wondering is the advice given by Qorax on the first post still the definite guide?? There is just sooo much plus all those other links I don't know how to start!!

- Also is his this applicable to an Infinite clone?

- Can I go without the alcohol bath and use dish washer or something?

Thanks

You can't go wrong with Qorax's first post. It's a great guide but you'll have to experiment for yourself to see what works for you.

It should be applicable to most clones including the Infinite. I would recommend the Tobeco version. It's cheaper and one of the better clones.

I break it down to 41 parts (maybe not the coil screws) and wash it for 5-10 mins with dish washing liquid in hot tap water.

Good luck!

Don't you guys ever leave north America? :D

Nah, 20 years in the Navy was enough world traveling for me. It really would be easier to tell you where I haven't been than where I have.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

I finally got the juice flowing enough to satisfy my vaping style. So far, the flavor has remained excellent. Next will be a custom Centerpost and Positive Block to free up the airflow a little.

I wicked it typical Kayfun style and it worked perfectly with straight VG. (3mm coil, Rayon with tails thinned just enough to match the size of juice slots and the length trimmed just to the deck) My slightly thinner Boba's doesn't leak, even if I lay it on it's side over night.

enlarged Deck Air Slots:
DeckJuiceSlots6.jpg

I widened the groove below the deck by .5mm, which included moving the surface that shuts off the juice flow, so now it takes approximately 3.5 turns to close my JC. You can also see the new Deck Air Slots in this picture
DeckJuiceSlots7.jpg

I posted these a while back, but here's another shot of the slots I machined into the Evaporation Chamber. I'm really not sure if these are needed, but they look pretty cool, plus, they increased my juice capacity!

Eventually I'll condense all of my modifications into one post...if I ever finish it:facepalm:

I wouldn't have wasted so much time on this thing, but nothing I have taste as good, and I have a lot of toppers! Plus, I really like the top-fill/JC
Bneat I too have problems with VG as I vape mainly 99% VG. Are your modifications strictly for VG or is it because you are going very high in watts as well?

Probably a combination of things. My ADV is Boba's Bounty, which is really high VG, and I vape it at about 30-35watts. Plus, I'm a lazy Lung-hitter, so I don't create much vacuum.

Wow! I'm impressed. I can't believe how huge those vertical juice channels look now.

How did you manage to move the surface that shuts off the juice flow? Did you machine that down on the body, or take some away from the inner surface of the evaporation chamber? You're definitely the first I've heard of going to this extent to modify the KF4.
It really puts those who just dremelled out juice channels and drilled the centre post and air intake on their KF3.1's to shame!

What's the coil BTW? Dual twisted 30g?

Hello!
(posted here rather than 'clone thread' by accident, then edited out,
but... now re-edit to put back up having had a reply to it before deleting. Not sure if appropriate to post my Kayfun V4 excitement here 'cause it's a Tebeco?? I'll take back down if you like )

24pf9zd.jpg

Stopped in last week after catching up on the thread in anticipation of my Tobeco Kayfun V4 arriving.
1st RBA, so super excited.
Can't wait to quit spending big $$ on stock coils that taste like funk after 3 days.

Broke everything down, but left all the orings in place.
A mild smell of machine oil, but pretty clean.
Gave it 2 washes in hot water and dish soap using a toothbrush and qtips for a light scrub.
1st wash, the water smelled like machine oil. 2nd wash, not.
Poked through all the holes to make sure everything was clear. It was.
Dried it all off and got ready for my first build ever.

Figured I wanted to try first:
28ga, 2.4mm ID, 10/9 wraps, 1.8 ohms.
Came out ok. Everything is smaller than I had pictured in my head.
Guess I got an extra wrap on there as it came out at: 2.0 ohms
Fired it and cleaned it up with needle nose pliers.
Like 1.5mm above airhole.

Then ready for first ever wick.
Organic Japanese cotton.
Figured about 3/16" wide strip.
This took a few more tries than the wrap.
1st try, I had pulled the 'faces' off the cotton. Too hard to manage/handle. No thanks.
2nd try, full piece, cut the cotton against rather than WITH the grain.
3rd try, cut the wicks too short.
4th try, worth proceeding.
Put the chiminey ring on, and then lightly fluffed and lightly pushed the wick down.
Not the prettiest.
I had a hard time getting the tails pointing down without 'stuffing' it in.
I can see how the 'paste the wick to the sides' method seems popular.
Seemed a little light on the cotton used down the deck,
but pretty good, if not a tad tight inside the coil.
Primed it up, fired just fine..........VAPE TIME!

I modified the deck on a machine called a Surface Grinder (think crank shaft, cam shaft, etc.) it could've been done in a lathe, but a surface grinder is more accurate and gives a much better surface finish.

And yeah, that's 2x twisted 30awg Ni200

I would only suggest one thing...
Use a 2.8mm ID, same gauge wire, with only 5-6 wraps...
You'll get a 1.3-1.5 ohm coil, and the larger diameter will work better for the larger amount of airflow available to the coil in a KF4...even a clone.
2.4mm coils work fine, sure, but they work better on a Kayfun Lite airflow system.

Hey folks, thought I would give a quick update on where I'm at with the KF4. In short - it's been treating me very well. I've been running 70vg POET juice for about a week, and there are no dry hits. I think one big difference has been the 2.4 mm coil I'm using. Someone in this thread suggested it, and they were spot on.

My happy list:
- zero spit back / wet hits
- top fill has been really nice to have, easiest tank I have to fill now
- no whistle whatsoever
- love the flush fit with P3 connector
- flavor is of course superb

Things that could still be better:
- easy to use airflow adjustment
- adjustable liquid control

My list for improvements is rather small at this point. I was a troubled kfl+ v2 user and never quite found my happy place with it, but the KF4 has won me over. It's not my favorite because I hold a sweet spot in my heart for the GT's, but that said I've been spending more time with the KF4 than anything else lately. It's really a stellar tank when dialed in.

Nice capthook, and congrats on your first build. Have your legs run out the bottom next time. No big deal. just easier to work with it that way. Enjoy your vape!

Thanks! Guess that's why I had trouble getting my coil positioned.

Looks just fine to me!
I would only suggest one thing...
Use a 2.8mm ID, same gauge wire, with only 5-6 wraps...

I've seen your previous posts on the flavor boost with the 2.8mm ID and plan to try it for sure.
However, I find the airflow wide open a bit airy for me. Running like 1/2 air. Was actually pleased to see how tight it would go.
But too tight, need to up the wattage or it starts to gurgle a little.
