Well that explains my confusion, I thought you were posting about the Insider. I do see where they make one with a smaller air outlet (Insider) but it appears to be permanent for MTL Insider. My Insider is styled, I thought maybe I was missing something.
Thanks for clearing that up for me.
You can get a special upgrade kit for the original to convert the insider to MTL (true MTL). Not my cup of tea but people swear by it :)

B.M. Try this link...choice of black or gold/nugget in the dna60.

SXK Billet Box V4 DNA60 Vape Full kits-$109 and Freeshipping|legendgadget

They're a really good supplier originally suggested by @BillW50 and the price is good although I think the FT option saves you another few € since they dropped the price....good luck.
Thanks.Yeah, that is where i was going to order my black one from before Ft had the 20% off sale a while back, after the discount,it was a good deal cheaper through Ft.I did think of ordering the gold color next, since it seems as easy to find as the black, but i'm not a big fan of that color,so i don't think i'd be too happy with that one.The one i want,SXK calls bronze,it is almost impossible to find though, although i will know soon if the place i found actually still has it,if they do,it will definitely be my next one,i really like the color on it.
Here is the color i want, this one has been discontinued, but has good pics of the color.
$139.90 SXK BB 60W Styled VW APV Mod w/ SXK Insider RBA Kit - 5ml / 1*18650 / aluminum alloy + carbon fiber / DNA 60 chip at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
If the place i found doesn't have it,i will definitely be saving up a bit and getting an authentic in that color.

My bad....I thought the gold was the one you are referring to. I like that colour too. If you never get your hands on one there is still a solution. You can get them cerakoted in any colour and design :) Good luck.

EDIT: If you can't get your hands on one let me know sa I know somewhere that has them in stock....a bit more expensive though.

Yeah cerakote or powder coating are definitely both options i have thought about,i will have one in that color one way or another haha.
You may know the same place i found then,as they are more expensive than most. The place i found is $90 for the 70 watt version, but since they are the only place i have seen it,i guess i wouldn't mind the price too much haha.

Thanks @Fredman1 and @charlie1465, if I get around to rebuilding it again I will definitely go with that method.

As for now, it's back to the untoppable EUC Ceramic.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the source i'm looking at is the version without the USB input. Must be the first run I suppose. The website has both runs listed separately and the second one doesn't have that colour...so watch out for that if it bothers you :)

I think what you're probably finding out here is that you can't use ribbon wire in the vapeshell. Any other gauges available?
I think I can use ribbon successfully. Just have to experiment some on the size and resistance. I'll play with it again today.

Yep agreed....maybe try the Ni80 wire I suggested to you recently...seriously good flavour.
Yeah I have a stash of different wires including Ni80, 200, Ti etc, but keep going back to 316L and 430. I get the crispest flavor from them.
I've been to most of the exotic shaped ones to, but the ribbon gives me the same as they do, with less effort and cost. What I like about ribbon is it heats up and cools down in a flash, and the cotton makes full and positive contact in the coil. Less spat and more vapor and flavor.
In some attys its a bit tricky to fit because the wire twists when tightened in the coil, but I have to live with that.

I have various DNA mods, they all to TC just fine. It might be because I don't use 316/317, I use SS 430 or anything with a decent TCR figure. Most of my mods just sit and watch me vape my 2 SXK Billet boxes.
I wouldn't think that having the thermal's fined tuned will make much of a difference.
Edit: I was going to upload a snippet of my thermal setting but mine are default settings.
Escribe doesn't offer thermal settings due to the charger being stand alone, or not onboard at all.

Can anyone get their DNA 60 to do Temp control properly?
I've tried SS coils in everything I have, but the temp control just don't function.
When I received it, I tried calibrating it, but the DNA60 is the only DNA that don't have case thermals on Escribe.
Yep....TC on mine is working fine....what's the problem with yours?

WoW Charlie its working now. First time its worked for me since I got it. I made up a 3.5mm flat coil for the Vapeshell and popped it in just now...and its working.
It always threw me the "OFF" signal with the others.

Yeah i'm confockulated now. Was happily vaping away on TC with the Vapeshell. Decided while the going is good i'll try the Insider again. Same problem...it gives the "OFF" signal when fired. I then tried the Kanger and the same thing happens. All has SS coils in, and works perfectly when in Watt mode....

Your cold resistance is not stable on those RBAs and that's kicking the DNA out of TC mode. They are either not making a solid contact between the ground and the 510 pin, have loose legs or there isn't solid contact between all the RBA pieces (My styled Exocet is that way).

That's exactly what I figured. How do I know when it is stable? Power mode don't tell anything...unless something is drastically wrong.
I removed the cotton from the Insider and checked and tightened the post and bottom screw before I tried it again.
Also, does you EUC coil work in TC? Mine don't.

You'll need to unscrew the 510 key fire the mod and screw the key back down again to reset the resistance. Then do a very quick pulse in wattage mode to set the resistance, switch to a SS profile and try it again to see if it goes to OFF mode. I have a couple of SS profiles set up as sometimes it will take a bit to switch out of the OFF mode.

I also have a wattage profile set up at 5W for bumping up coil resistance if I want to add 0.02 ohms to a coil (for those builds that seem to hit temp protect too quickly). I bump the coil resistance up in the 5W profile then lock the resistance, it will retain that locked resistance when switching back to a TC profile.

On my SXK Insider the screws were too short and the heads of the screws would bottom out on the top of the post causing the wire to not be secured well. I took a Dremel to the tops of the posts and took a little off. Now no problem with my Insider.
I clean the threads of the key and mod each time I'm in there. I also polish the positive pin of the mod when needed.
I check the post screws every time I'm in there (when I don't forget)
