Nope. I would be kinda upset too. Especially now that the M Class is like $10 difference..

I'm just waiting till they restart shipping on the BLK/SLV SLV/BLK ones to see if it's really fixed before I grab one
(they halted shipments cause of the black paint issue and having to replace so many that were having issues already) So I'm trying to wait patiently...

Not sure if I can lol

I got my blk/slv last week. I heard something about paint chipping, but mine seems pretty solid. IDK?

mine is still immaculate but thats probably because I treat it like a newborn child - in fact I dropped one of those once so maybe i am even more careful with this...lol.

I've had mine a week and the paint is very bad. Do they warranty these?

I just wish they would hurry up and come out with a sleeve. I think I have the new black finish and it seems to be holding up fine.
You can always put a skin on it, Jwraps will do them for sx, I'm just holding off cause for that price I shouldn't have to wrap it in bubble wrap or cover it to not worry about the paint lol

There is a new tank out there that seems to be designed for Temperature Control. It is from smok and is called the Smok Temperature Control tank TCT. MadVapes has them in stock for $27.49 but not many others seem to have it at this time since it is so new. I am predicting that we will be seeing many such tanks coming out with them being designed around TC due to the popularity of TC mods coming out. Their coils are .15 ohms so they are being built higher to ensure they will work on a DNA device, but they will also work fine on the SXM. The price is right but I would like to see some reviews before I take a plunge at it to use on the SXM. I just wonder if there is anything specific in the design of the tank in regards to TC outside of the coil itself.

Smok Temperature Control Tank TCT

The TCT (Temperature Control Tank) from Smok is identical in size and shape to the VCT Pro in every way. Where it differs, however, is the included coils. These coils are built with Ni200 Nickel, which allows the use of the temperature control function on mods that support it. By default, the TCT also comes with green O-rings to differentiate it from the VCT Pro. However, it will come with replacement O-ring sets in red and black too.

The TCT is the next evolution of the VCT and sub-ohm tanks all-around! This tank is designed specifically for temperature-controlled devices, with the recommended temperature range being 400F - 600F. This tank uses a new coil: The "TCT N2" coil. Inside, these have dual vertical coils made out of Nickel. Wicking material is 100% organic cotton. The side of each coil has 2 huge rectangular openings for fantastic wicking, even with the thickest liquids. This tank is capable of holding up to 5mL of liquid due to the extended center post and new coil design.

Each side of the base of the tank has 2 extended airflow slots for massive airflow and vapor production. The included glass drip tip also has adjustable airflow, which allows this tank to have an extremely open draw, much like an RDA! The top cap has heat fins to effectively dissipate the increased heat this tank generates and keep you drip tip cool. If you're a dripper looking for an alternate tank for when you're on the go, or if you haven't been satisfied with previous sub-ohm tanks, this is the tank for you.

The Smok TCT is the first true cloud-chasing temperature-control atomizer!

VCT Pro coils and TCT coils are interchangeable.

Not that I know of.

You're asking about hardware upgrade, right? Throwing the new chip in?

Hardware or firmware. I'm guessing the 350j won't drop in an s class? They look about the same? But I know the m class is slightly taller vs the s class. I have not done any digging myself, just thought I'd ask. I figured that question had to have been asked before and someone would know right off the bat.

And I remember when the first yihi sx350 (or whichever number it was) chip came out (the 35w then 50w?), I think Alexander Mundy hacked the firmware? He made it say something or added pictures or icons... Something... Of course I have no clue what thread it was in now... So I was also curious if there were any s class firmware "hacks" too. (obviously I've got an s class coming) :)

The SXmini M is slightly taller but I believe the board dimensions to be the same based on the dimensional drawings on Varitube.com website. I would suspect they beefed up the 510 connector to be more ni200 friendly than on the original SXmini S class 510 connection was which I'm guessing is the reason for the additional height. As for the hacks yes I've seen some out there, I wouldn't link them though. You know if you brick it the first day you own the brick. Lol That's obviously a void warranty if it's ever found out.

That new tank is the same set up as their improved VCT Pro, and that tank does work great. I've been using it for 2wks and I'm happy to find out that the new nickel coils DO work in the Pro..

Only downfall to the whole unit (great looks & design) is the drip tip wobbles, but that's an easy fix with dental floss..
As a regular tank it's nice, (almost as good as my starre ver1, but looks better) will be interesting to see how their coils work..

It's not really designed for temp control, it's just an existing tank with a nickel coil. I think the GCT is more of a "designed for temperature control" tank since I don't believe there is a non-nickel version. Though there's nothing really different about it designwise, AFAIK, it just comes default with Ni200 coils.

For the record the illustration showing the green ringed tank being different must be an error. To my knowledge the tank comes with all 3 oring sets.

YiHi just told me they are not alloud to tell me any technical questions. Here is what they said.

Dear Richard,

I have checked with our engineer. But Really sorry that this is refer to our technical. So we cannot tell you about. Hope your understanding.

Kind regards!

lol ... typical yihi

Wait, are you guys saying you can crank the power up and the SX M will overshoot the temperature you have set by a significant amount?...surely not

maybe I should watch one of the many videos floating around

Pretty much. They cover that deficiency up by saying "for professional users only" so if someone complains they have an out.

So I had some time..........so I pulled out a perfectly working build.......just so I could see what the 0.065 fanboys were on about..........

Quad twisted 30g spaced on a 3mm mandrel, 8 wraps came to 0.069 ohms........

Now the temp is stabilizing at 180C (356F) and I'm having to push 30J to compensate for the increased ramp up time.

But the vape is remarkably similar compared to my last build..............below

Twisted 32 Ni200, 12 spaced wraps on 3mm. Came in at 0.31, and yes, I pulsed the coils in wattage mode at 10 watts. I've had problems before with hot spots and I wanted to check, but there were none.

Wicked with KGD, used the double insertion method, did the whole hairdresser thing. Topped off with Orange sherbet, Cashmire Century.

Running at 20J 180C (360F), but it doesn't go over 140C (284F), so I agree, it's probably hotter than it's reading.

I think the moral to this story is...................this device is very flexible and forgiving!

Providing your an experienced vaper, and you know how to tailor the settings to your coil (and your coil is at least reasonable), you could probably get away with anything!

My experience entirely. To my mind, the 0.065 thing is overhyped (at the risk of starting ww2 again..). Bottom line is that sx is flexible. 0.065 may be 'optimum' but it works well with setups way out of that zone and seems to be well calibrated for such activity (as it should be).
