I tried my Subtank Mini and that calibrated and worked just fine at .075 so I then tried my Delta II which calibrated at .055 and is working just fine also. I am running the yet to be released v2.21 firmware.

So I am not sure what is going with your setup but it is not a limitation of the v2.21 firmware as I have just confirmed with a .055 build which is close to the bottom end of the Yihi SXM specifications.
I have no idea what is going on with my two upgraded units then. I have now taken the "upgraded" units back to v1.4 and both no fire the 0.063 and the 0.8 units fine....they just won't fire on 2.21 no matter what I do. If it was only one device with 2.21 that wouldn't fire the lower ohms I'd think it was a hardware problem. When two devices with 2.21 won't fire lower ohms....but do fire lower ohms when I go back to v 1.4??? don't know what to say....
except maybe there is more than one 2.21 version out there.....? Any chance you could send me the upgrade file you used? PM me if you are willing. I'd appreciate it.

Duane,

After the update to V2.21 did you re-sync your atty resistance? Failing to do this is the only problem I have heard of that causes an apparent problem.

Most of the posts I have seen like yours as soon as someone reminds them they need to do the two button lock the resistance thing they post back - Duh! - it works great now.
Yep..sure did...on each time I made a change...and I was sure to do it with cold attys.

And interestingly...each of the units read EXACTLY the same resistance for any one atty..so we know that the SX Mini m class is VERY accurate in doing that :)

I'm mostly always in joule mode, leaving the device overnight and grabbing it first thing in the morning I've never seen this. I've not read this before either so if you can find the details please post them, I'd like to read what they state.
I seem to recall reading about this somewhere (this thread?), but found that if the mod sat unused in joules mode for a while (a couple of hours, overnight, etc...), it would report "Dry Coil" even with 5ml in the tank.

Are you saying the.063Ω will still not fire on the two devices you updated even after reverting to ver 1.4?

Also are you resetting the device after the update? And then Syncing the resistance? I see you said you were syncing just making sure you doing it after reset.

Couple links with some helpful info if you haven't read them yet.

after reverting to 1.4 they both work just FINE......clearly a software issue...but some folks haven't seen the problem I have with the 2.21 file they have....
so I'm wondering if YiHi has been sending files on the fly as they develop them...and I have a funky version and others have a better version.
That's the only thing I can think of that would cause what I'm seeing.
Does that make any sense?

If you mean ...remove the battery....reinsert.....start unit....set resistance.....then yes, that's the sequence I'm using.
Unless my dumb mind hasn't picked up on some other "reset" procedure.

Yea what your saying makes sense. But from what I've seen what's been distributed has been the same version that those of us received back on Tuesday.

Is this the version you have? SXmini-Test Version-M_SXmini_Logo-120W_20150526-1849_V2.21

George just sent me his original file so I overwrote the file I had. Not sure what that was. I'm going to install Georges new file and see what happens.

Hmm, can't find it anywhere. I will chalk it up as a middle of the night foggy brained memory. No idea what could have caused it, but I did experience it more than once with v1.4. I haven't put it down long enough since updating to 2.1 to see if it is still happening. I doubt it, but will take notes if it happens again.

Great, at least it's working as expected. Where did you get the original file you were using? And do you still have the original compressed file to be able to see what version it was in comparison to what George sent you?

I'm thinking that with all this software flying willy-nilly around the web, it might behoove YiHi to post the MD5 checksums on their site. Although I guess that wouldn't help with unreleased software unless, as mentioned earlier, they post those too and clearly label the files beta or stable (or sumpin' like 'at).

We may have learned a valued lesson today... "Don't take files from strangers", you never know what you might be getting.

That's always a good idea Jim... but I am such a sucker to have the latest and greatest that sometimes I go out on a limb.

Bimini,

MD5 check sum... the original I received from tech support didn't have a check sum and wasn't even zipped just a raw binary. Talk about trying to shoot a foot off that would be a great way to do it. Ugh!

I got it from the dropbox that some nice gentleman listed as a source but I'm pretty sure that was the same file George sent to him also. I haven't a clue what could have happened and I don't have the original zipped file. I was so damned mad about the whole thing I deleted it and emptied my recycle bin. I'm half convinced this was all about me breaking my morning ritual...I "never" do anything until I've had my morning coffee......until this morning. :)

It's now on all three units and all three work perfectly. WHEW

I love it when a plan comes together - but the next time DON'T skip your morning coffee or at least warn the rest of us that you are running on an empty tank so we can pretend to be off-line.
