Many thanks for all replies. Its up and running on 24g Ti in Ti mode 0.25 Ohm 220J 490F its good but prefer warmer vape, using Lemo 2.
Now for the Magma! going for Ti 26 dual.

Burnie,

It is a catch-22 with a single coil and TC the vape is by design going to be cool(er). You can turn the TC way up and get your warmer vape but then you lose the benefits of TC.

That said Dual coils may get you where you want to go and keep the TC in the safe range. The more coils running more power may pick up the warmth you want without the temperature going into the 600 degree F range.

Can you have your cake and eat it too...

Well I bit the bullet and bought the 40W Eleaf iStick Temp Control Express Kit 2600mah. With the 5% coupon (5OFFNOW) and $5.80 for insured USPS first class shipping the total only came out to $34.29. I know the device is no SXM, but I wanted to have a 2nd TC mod to use and have as a spare. Hard to beat a TC mode and tank that isn't too bad either for such a price. :w00t:

You'll surely like it. Little different in how it is in temp limiting compared to the Sxmini m as it's 40w pretty much instant then drops off to maintain the temp. If you like powerful or powerfu+ modes you'll like it. I was considering getting one just for a beater at the lake, mowing or whenever I may lose or drop it but ended up doing a pre-order on a VTBox200 for $120 on gearbest. Hoping the VT isn't for Very Troublesome. :) Probably a month out before I see it, so I have to wait to see how this turns out. Never ordered from them before.

I bought from them before and they have good service. You can't beat $34.29 for a TC mod that works so why not for a beater like you said.

I was out on vacations for 3 weeks, came back and found 600+ new posts. Thought of jumping to the last one and take it from there, so glad I didn't. The reading in the last 3 days was great, excellent information as usual. Funny sometimes (specially sunday posts, couple of you guys seems to get very bored at home). Love to see those engineers occasionally jump in here trying to destroy our dear SXMini, they get a beat and leave with the tail between the legs.
Back to topic: haven't tried Ti yet, will have to wait for a while to buy it, just coming from vacations makes my wife very suspicious of any unexplained internet order. I can still try my local B&M, but doubt they'll carry it. Patience, in a week there's another vape contest I will win, guess what the 1st price is...
So, correct me if I'm wrong, if Ti wire in Ti mode doesn't give me the vaping I want, Ti wire in Ni mode will still deliver?

Yep, you can use Ti in Ni mode, just the temperate setting needs to be a lot lower.

I'm not having much luck with that. I have a stm with rba that I've been vaping on the Ti setting at 550. Even at 325 on the Ni setting the flavor isn't there. If I turn it up, it burns :-(

Not sure what you are doing wrong, but it could be a connection problem. I usually vape Ti at around 260~280 in Nickel mode.

+1 to Yozhik :thumb:
No issues with running Ti in the Ni200 Profile (@20J & 285*F).
Since I finally listened to those here more Wise and cranking up the Temp to around 480* F, am running it in the Ti Profile with great success as well (at 20-22.5J depending on RTA).

Strangely enough,,, I own 3 STM's and have yet to build on one. Just run the OCC 0.5 kanthals on my 2 Kanger SubBoxes and a Ni200 OCC on the other Tank for TC when doing rebuilds & Tweaking on the EK & L2 Coils or Wicking (my Hole-Card Tank). Gonna pull the Trigger on a EK Clone by WoToFo this weekend so then the L2 will move to "Hole-Tank" Duty freeing up the 3rd STM for building. Then make that one my new Juice Flavor Tester as it is easy to disassemble, clean and refill.
On that Subject,,,, REALLY digging on these Mech Sauce Liquids . Amazing Flavor & Combos and at $5 for a 30ml (4 Bottles was $24.95 shipped) a Sweet Deal and Return in my Book. Tried the Empress Milk V2 in the Ti built EK. Pretty good right out the Vape Mail and after 3 days Aging, the 2nd Tank-full is much better than the first. Imagine it will be Nirvana after week to 10 days. Gonna load the L2 up with the Waterhog Flavor this morning and take it for a spin. Big hopes as luv me some Melon Juice and have yet to find one that is Outstanding.
This just might be The One. Enough typing,,,, time to Lock & Load the Melon Cannon and throw some Clouds down Range. Fire In The Hole!

On Sundays, we ain't "bored",,,,
We are Inspired ;)

Best of Luck in that "Free Ti Contest"
I feel assured you are definitely gonna win

Well hadn't been here for a while thought maybe YiHi came up with an update. but no go. We are on vacation and my wife ended up in the hospital. Some kind of internal bleeding had to have 2 units of blood and they are trying to find out where it is coming from. Makes for a nice vacation. I was hoping she would get out today but sounds like tomorrow at the earliest. Well take care.

Total confusion.
SX mini fired my Dual coil Tank for a couple of weeks without issue. Lock was .07 and the vape was very pleasing.
Last night I swapped the battery as usual, then the SX started throwing DRY COIL warnings.........even if primed and dripping out the air flow holes.

Tried resetting with battery removal, tried tank re-seat. Same results.
Same issues today.

*Now, after letting it sit a while, I re-locked the SX mini M.
Now reading .101ohm???
I first thought one coil may be loose, but that would be .143ohm and likely fluctuate.

Darn thing is vaping like the first time around, 400 degrees / 30

Any Ideas, thoughts or concerns?

What Atty?
Known for having Spopadic Poisitive Contact Pin Issues? (SX Mini M, especially in Ti Profile, is VERY unforgiving with a lack of good Pos Contact)
Wet Pos Contact?
Possible loose Coil Connections?

Orchid and no sporadic actions at all. Tank worked great daily for weeks.
Still works great, but base line has changed.
Once locked at new resistance reading - working beautifully again.
.03 change.

I will check and re-wick once this tank is empty.

I have a theory that the residue from e-liquid left on the coil has an influence somewhat like the Kondo effect. In essence, my conjecture is that the presence of magnetic polarization (particularly from Oxygen atoms) in the residue affects the flow of electrons in the wire, thereby increasing the resistance. However, I definitely lack the expertise in physics and chemistry to prove if this is the case. ;)

And why I recoil/rewick often...

ETA: I made my statement on the basis of observation and experience, mainly taste and watching resistance under TC/TP/TL. Then I looked up the Kondo effect.

Now I am sure I was right. ;) :)
