I think you'll get far better results with the NiFe30, even with this update, the low TCR of 316L makes it about the worst possible wire you can use and still be "TC capable", in terms of accuracy. 430 is IMHO the best choice for available stainless wire.

Agreed about SS.

But you "must" try NiFe 48/52 from Zivipf. Two weeks delivery from Germany.

Yeah it does. I can't believe I tried for 2 hours before giving up! In the past though it would always catch when turned counterclockwise.
My first SXM had messed up threads when I bought it.
I know the shop owner and he let me exchange it last week.
We tested the cap and mod and it was definitely the brass threads that were crap so he should have no problem returning it since it's in like new condition.

I got the replacement home and lo and behold the threads seemed sketchy.
I looked at it under a mag glass and there was a piece of debris between the shell and the brass tube.
I pushed the debris on in and pushed the tube back to approximately round and no problem again.
yay me.

It doesn't take much to modify brass. Check with a mag glass to see if it's out of round.

I just ordered the 26 and 25guage to try. So why is this better? Hehe, I don't know why I ordered it but I want to try some different Ni200. Is this an improvment over the 26g Ni200 hard?

Cheers!

How does the NiFe last. Also is it fairly sturdy, can it be dry burned or can you wash it under water. Is it better then Ti. I'm reasonably happy with Ti much more then nickel. I wonder if they'll get it in the US any where. The only problem I have had with Germany is the way the put the address on, the idiots at USPS have problems with it.

Which wire brings out the flavor of your juice the best? When I first started with nickel I was amazed and then I tried Ti even better.

"We" have concluded this is a fool's errand, resulting in a conclusion, or claim, that can be neither verified nor falsified, at least not "scientifically".

Here @HolmanGT you are correct, I believe. An answer qualifies as "pie in the sky". (Lucy in the Sky with Dia-minds, not diamonds.)

I'm not sure through all the pages if anyone has posted this so if they have my apologizes. I found these caps at Elevated Vape Accessories LLC for $15 and it makes battery changes a walk in the park and the fit and machining on the three I picked up are outstanding. No need for tools or a coin. Have four vent holes and each line you see is a cutout that allows you an excellent grip on the cap. Great addition to the SX Mini

Also what guage is the best of the NiFe52 for a tank? And what type coil spaced or contact I would assume spaced but you know what assuming does. I see the TCR is .00403 and a 5wrap 3mm coil is .2ohms with 26awg spaced. They have also done some upgrading of Wire Wizard. So the resistance is a little lower then Ti. Sounds pretty interesting better get all this stuff on the TC beyond thread. But considerably higher then Ni. The Bloke is still missing .

It's a great addition to the SX Mini and the guy doing the distribution, Nathan is a real good guy. I had a question and left a voice mail and he called back in 30 minutes.

You'll be surprised by how damn light they are when you get it. My picture sucked, really my camera but they look a ton better then the picture.

I think it would be safe to treat it in a similar manner as you currently do with Ti. So choose and build it like you would do with Ti.

I'm trying a ss coil with the new firmware. If I set tcr to 100 or 90 the the indicated temperature don't rise above 70 degrees Celsius but the smoke production is awesome. I need to set the tcr to 55 to show 200 degrees. But my ss 316L should have a tcr of 100. Any advice?

With the old firmware I was able to set a power without modify the memory if I click 5 times the button. Now it's like modify the memory and I lose my preset. I don't like this

Thanks I'm going to preorder some 26 from Etsy. Can't wait to try it. It sounds better to me then SS. Sounds like all the good points of nickel and titanium. I remember The Bloke said it was the best wire around.

Hmm me thinks the guy at Unkamen is realizing the profit in vaping wire. Heres a stupid question why do they call it Kanthal NiFe52.What is the wire itself like to coil and to clean. Or is cleaning not possible.

Kanthal is the company name
Nifethal is their brand name
NiFe is a nickel-iron alloy
52 is the percentage of nickel

When most people talk Kanthal in vaping, they are referring to the iron-chromium-aluminium alloy brand name A-1
