Well I know one thing I have never felt cheated at the price of the SXMM. Been the best except for the Provari. Provari has no TC and I only vape TC now. But my Provari's are amazing also. I have one from the first batch like 4 years ago and works like new. The dna's I don't really have an urge to buy one. I bought one of the first DNA40's and never did work right for me since then I'm just not interested. That's just me alot of people like the DNA40 and they have made some improvements since I got mine. I would rather buy another M then a DNA200 for the same price. I love the SX. My S seems every bit as good as a Provari except for it looks like the wreck of the Hesperus.

I appreciate what you are saying. I have not used a Provari (tube mods aren't my style) but they are no doubt a quality piece nor (after research) did I feel the desire to get a SX mini. My first run Darwin is about as old as your Provari and I still use it and also used/use DNA 12, 20, 30,40,25 and 200's. All work without a single failure. My point is that one only needs to find what works for them. What floats my boat may not float yours. Which device is the best is really a subjective observation and like "belly buttons" each vaper has one (opinion). If a SX works for somebody then that is great but by the same token if a DNA200 works for another that is great also. Demonizing of either is unproductive IMO but a civil discussion of them is helpful for many reasons.

Yeah my experience with the DNA that I didn't care for was the minimum resistance was pretty high and I remember I was just starting out in fact my first attempt at TC. The coils i had to wrap were pretty big and sloppy plus at that time the didn't have resistance lock and I was having problems making my coils last 3 or 4 days. Pretty poor first experience. That's what turned me off about them when I got the SX it was a real easy coil to build and they lasted what seemed like forever comparitively. So wasn't a fair comparison. I forget what the min was at the time on the DNA seems like .1 or higher which made for quite a few wraps and I had never done spaced coils. I sold it to a guy that had some experience and he wrapped a coil and used it for 3 weeks no problemo. It was more then likely my inexperience with TC and the softness of nickel all being new.

I don't feel bad about the price I paid for my SXMM either, its still one of my favorite mods, and I'm hoping it will last several more years. I also don't feel bad that they cost very little to manufacture.

Legs,

I told you I would let you know what I thought of the RX200.

The build quality is fantastic the battery door magnets are so strong I have trouble pulling it off, and it vapes like a champ. Ni200 single coil, 0.14 ohms 25 watts 450 TP (never hits TP)

they certainly seem to be setting the bar higher for cheaper mods

cant wait for mine to arrive

I hope I didn't burst anyones bubble. I was reading the ML thread and the guys there thought that the M was an aluminum mod and YiHi changed over to the zinc alloy for the ML. I don't think any of them had owned an M or the problems they had with the finish because of the zinc alloy case. I think I set them straight about the M being nearly the same as the ML except for the software.

@HolmanGT how is it with Ti. I want to get a couple of emergency TC mods just in case I outlive what I have in my arsenal now. I have been so impressed with the performance of the SX's I don't want to get something that isn't going to give me the same vape. Temperature offsetting is no big thing cause I did that till YiHi came out with 2.32. Then they were right on but I started using the Ti with NI200 mode at 290F. That is how I fell in love with Ti. Of all the wires I've tried I have settled on Ti as the best for me.

I wonder is the M started out as aluminum and later changed to zinc because some vendors say zinc and some say aluminum. The first post of this thread says aluminum.

I don't think so I have one of the first and it was zinc. Like I said though it doesn't take away from the mod. They seem to be tough my first one I got in April and still working like new, actually better then new with the upgrades. I just wanted you guys to know that the zinc is not a new thing. I have no complaints other then the finish and the battery cap but from what I have heard the Elev8 battery caps work perfectly. I don't know if they have come out with one for the ML or no. I have no problems with 2 of mine but 1 is a PITA, I've always been really careful with my battery caps because they are easy to get cross threaded. My 2 new ones that I have just put away I have no experience with the threads because I haven't used them other then to set them up for how I vape strictly with Ti.

Ok @HolmanGT You've almost got me talked into one of these RX200. The only thing I care about is how it does on Ti because I have decided that is the one I am going to use. I am very happy with the wire and the coil I use and can duplicate it consistently. That would sure be a lot cheaper then a couple more M's. I could get 3 of those for 1 M. What is the problem with getting the batteries in and out that keeps tearing the skins on them.

I've used the Reuleaux RX 200 for a week now with Titanium coils exclusively and it's worked perfectly with the Titanium TC setting. I'm comparing to the DNA 200 and SXMs and I see little or no difference in vape quality. The battery door is held on by an extremely strong set of magnets that are stronger than anything else I've ever experienced on a mod. As far as tearing of the battery skins I haven't seen any problem. The only thing I can guess is that folks who have the problem haven't taken care to depress the battery springs fully when they install or remove batteries. Those springs are fairly strong to keep the batteries tight in place so if one were careless I suppose there could be some scraping of the skin against the connector.

All in all I think the Reuleaux RX 200 is the best value in vaping right now.

Thanks Duane, I was just about to tell 2Legs to ask you about TI. ;) I don't know about TI yet but for the money it preforms pretty darn well and like you say for the price you can't beat it. I won't even mention the battery life which is measured in days for me. :)

I really think you are going to be pleased with it Quantum. :thumb:

I nearly added a dna200 Reuleaux into my basket earlier too as they are in stock with a local vender

As my RX200 is coming from FT it would at least be here this week .... where the FT delivery who knows

Should have paid the extra £10gbp and ordered local but I like a bargain ... one of my M classes got air lifted from The States with a £30gbp saving

The battery tearing is only applicable to the DNA200 version, the battery sled is slightly different on that one because its a sort of manual reverse battery protection. With the rx200 version the board has reverse battery protection, so they were able to make the sled different.

This is the battery sled on the DNA200 version:

Those little white ridges are what people can snag their batteries on if they aren't careful.

The rx200 version doesn't have those ridges.
