My Kayfun V4s are amazing and I have so many tanks but all I use is the V4s (with S kits). They are just so reliable. I am using authentic and they work so well with the SX Mini's. But they are mouth to lung. At least that is how I use them. Lung inhail I would use a sub tank mini but all my sub tanks leak so they sit there just watching the V4s with their drip tips sticking out.

One tip I found is if you can get a few V4 decks, and some cheap bellcaps from ebay. You can prime a coil with wich and juice and just sit the cheap bellcap on top of the deck. Then you have the perfect deck ready to fit when deeded. Just what you need when traveling. I make six decks and that will last me a week. Such a civilised way of doing things. Thinking about my first holiday and vaping without stinkies.

If you do go clones. You could try and contact the vendor and get a few decks so they all fit your set-up. I don't want to say what I spent on V4s. I just wanted simple that works. Kayfun works well for me. I have not found anything that tastes as good or as reliable.

Take care all

hi guys.. been on gt2 for about 2 tanks now, tried a new build just. so went thru the coils build, tested on ohm meter and everything is fine. set it on the mini m, waited a while and did the up/down reset. but somehow the coil does not register and jumps all over the place.. from 0.1 to everything up to 0.25... finally got a right reading of 0.07. happy yes, buy when I fire the mod it gives a dry coil reading! damn! unscrew atty check everything again, back to the ohm meter and other mod(dna40), all reading is correct, wick is nice and wet.
so I screw it back on the mini m again, but it will not register the resistance again no matter what.. again jumping from 0.0 to 0.25...

any ideas?

Something to think about if you're going to put a wrap on your SX Mini M. Should you wish to take it off this could happen. It's not mine btw but I saw this posted elsewhere and wanted to give you guys a heads up.

Something else I would like to know. For the guys that are rebuilding the Kanger OCC heads with nickel, what are you doing? I tried one, and noticed real fast that I was getting hot legs. I have rebuilt a few with standard kanthal, and although they did work alright, it was never as good as the original design. I assume it is due to the fact that they use the NR wire for the legs in the standard OCC design. I have since just started rewicking them here and there.

When I rebuilt mine with nickel, I did like 5 or 6 wraps around a 2.5mm shaft using 28 gauge. Wicked it, wet it, put it together, and could see the legs light up orange. They did that a few times, and then I could no longer see them lighting up, but I assume they are still getting hotter. The vape just wasn't there.

For the people using them this way, what are your secrets?

I have seen this, a bit, lately. Was willing to live with it 'til I had time to disassemble and clean the K4,

What I have been doing to clear the problem is SYSTEM OFF. Restarts without the problem.

Everything I use is juice hungry, for sure. I use the Lemo Drop, ST Mini, Atlantis, and of course numerous drippers. I usually go through 15ml to 20ml a day, sometimes more depending on what I am doing, or not doing. I think, since I am looking for something to use with nickel and temp, I will just order the Lemo2 and try that one out for a few.
I've been using the Lemo 2. No real issues. My experiences have been that trapping 28gauge nickel is bit of challenge. I don't wrap around the screw because it goes against the principle of spaced coils. Also the tank is a juice guzzler in temp mode.
Readings have been consistent. 8 wraps around 3mm and holds steady @.08. I vape Max VG custard flavors and have no wicking issues. The flavor is great and vapor is massive with the airflow open about 25%.
Hope you enjoy yours.

.....

I think temp mode and/or Nickel is a guzzler, and I'm sure the 24ga I've been running the past week isn't helping that cause .... probably should account for new toy syndrome which probably has me vaping a lot more too...

I'm thinking running lower gauge wire is the way to go in TC. I have been trying dual strands of 30 gauge and have found the vape to be much better then using single wire. My latest is parallel 30 gauge 3 mm 6/7 wrap 0.069 ohms. 25J at 420F on my Kayfun. Nice warm vape with good vapor production. I think i will be getting some 26 gauge.
My reasoning is that with thicker wire maybe the reistance doesn't fluctuate as rapidly with temperature change and there is more thermal mass to heat the wick. Just my uneducated guess. I'm sure the EEs and peanut gallery will correct me if I'm way off base:-x. Anyway.... whatever the reason I am finding it to be a better experince.

Right behind you...
What's funny is I found my "enlightenment" moment using DNA40 devices when I started using thin, single strand Ni200 (30 and 32ga) and resistances over 0.2 ohms, which reduced the effect of resistance fluctuations and refinement. Once I started building that way, things got a lot better, more consistent, less headaches.

The SX350J is the opposite of that...it wants lower and thicker. I know, that's what she said.

That's why I had gotten 30 gauge to start with. I had read so much about the DNA 40 chip and these huge coils. Not the case with the 350J chip.

That shouldn't happen, but if you're skinning your device to cover scratches that are already there...
I'm waiting to hear back from my local B&M shop on replacing mine but will only do that if I can exchange it in person. Either way, I'm ordering a custom wrap.....
I read that in some of the Facebook groups people have contacted Yihi about the paint peeling/chipping problem. From what I understand they sent photos and the mod ID number and got this reply.

I just confirmed my local shop - they claim the contacted yihi and they are not doing a recall.. perhaps if you write yihi (I already did that as well) they might take care of it.... i'm going the sticker route because I'm going to use this thing till it's dead, deceased and no longer functioning or obsolete (whichever comes 1st).

Well I put my new coil in 5 wrap 29awg tempered came in at .08. Vapes great good enough for me. When I get some 26awg I will worry about the .065. I am just happy I can wrap a coil and put it on and it works great. .065 .08 whatever seems to be holding temp very well. 3mm by the way. Plus it tastes great. I used the 29 just to see if it really was any easier then regular and I think for the money temco is just fine on these. You don't have to wrap a perfect 14 wrap coil to get it to work at all like the DNA. I love it now I have my tank ready for #2 should be here within the hour.

They also told me that the ones they are replacing are the ones that first came out and the paint chips off with your fingernail. That's it.

It goes against the principles to wrap around the screws? LMAO, you should actually try it..... My Lemo never tasted so good!
