You should have seen Rip Trippers first review. It was only up for about 15 min before he pulled it down. He had juice all over the device, his hands etc.. was pretty funny. He appended it and uploaded the next day because he had been filling it incorrectly for a couple weeks.
Couple of weeks..... I watch that dudes reviews, strictly for the Entertainment value. He's a good builder (not the Petri) but outside of ideas for builds I trust his reviews about 2% of the time

So varitube responded to me after I sent the pics to them. This is what they said.

" We're YiHi's authorized repair center and we will correct it."

I'm iffy about them doing this, thoughts?
you're between a rock and a wall. Personally, I doubt the fix is anything overwhelming difficult. Ita probably something that could be done very easily yourself if you were willing to risk the warranty coverage (I wouldn't do it because I lime warranties)
however if they fixed it, you wouldn't have that voided . The only real issue is do you want to be without it for a few days.

Well it sounds like your options are limited. Probably wouldn't have been a problem if you had just put it back in the box as soon as you got it rather than using it. Unfortunately it looks like your going to have to decide if it bothers you enough to send in and have repaired or live with it as is. I feel your pain. :(
Ya he just said he will correct it the same day he gets it. Its 5 min to open it up, the chip is screwed in and there is play in the holes.

Kinda want to open it up myself and do it, but don't want to lose my warranty if case something goes wrong.

Yup, you are correct. Another stupid thing is I have to pay another $7-10 to ship it back to them.

I understand. The problem I have is sometimes when I fix something or try make it better I end up breaking it worse than it was to begin with. Which is why I never would even suggest it to someone else. :) But I do imagine it to be a pretty simple fix.

Well I changed my coil went back to 7 wrap 28awg and even though I am still using it in my break in method I can taste the difference from the 5 wrap. I think if you are using 28 you need to be at .08-.09 to get really good flavor. When the 26 gets here I will go 7 wraps and have close to the .065 and I'm sure it will taste great. I also noticed at .068 which is what I had with the 5 wrap it really ate through the battery quicker then at .08

Update: my SX started to hit the 420°F more and more over course of vaping the 12th, 13th and 14th tank. Flavor was still OK, not even a hint of scratchy hits, but I knew it was time to replace it. Remarkable: after washing the wick, there was no discoloration. None. That's after 40 ml.

There was some gunk though, especially between the wraps, and I guess that's what played a role in the resistance creep. Or... maybe because it formed a thin layer over the wire, it generated more heat quicker? Is that possible?

Anyway, replaced both coil and wick with an identical build. Well almost, as this time it comes out to 0.079 instead of 0.071. Said a little prayer to the vape gods, and they seem to have heard me, as the new build vapes just as good.

PS: I'm ignoring the pictures of those black faced Minis. I don't see them. I don't want them. Aaargh! ;)

I would assume that I could at least open it up and look around, without them knowing right?

That's on you dude, some cell.phones have a tab that snap when you open the case, that way if you try and claim an insurance damage they can tell pretty easy. Not saying yihi did that but full disclosure.

I totally hear you on that, and I know that is the case with some devices. LOL damn, why did I have to notice it. Its not even that bad, I just know its there. I asked him if he would refund me overnight shipping, so I could get it back before the weekend. He said no, lol.

Bet 26 @ .09Ω - .1Ω would be even better :) might take a little to heat up though let us know...

Oh and I'm using RiPs wire straightening method but I just use it for about 4sec. Had a problem when I did it for 10 like kanthal and gave me a hot spot on the coil burned right though. I still am using my coil master and stretching and getting perfectly spaced coils every time I always wrap about 4 extra coils and then pull 2 off of each end works great for us coil challenged people.

You can always buy a second one as backup and send that one back when the second arrives

What it really comes down to is I shouldn't have to send my brand new device back in to be worked on. Varitube should send all defective devices back to YIHI for them to fix and get their QC correct. I don't think I am going to ship it back. Basically what I am doing is paying for the device "new" then getting it refurbished.

Plus when a new mod comes out in 2-6 months thats better than this, Ill just sell this one and buy it.

When I first started building coils last year I came across Dam718 screw method and I've been building using different sized machine screws every since. Makes for a nicely spaced coil without much hassle and once the coil is mounted just unscrew from the coil poke cotton through and juice.

What a great idea about using a machine screw for spaced coils.
