Well did some watching and the 26awg at 18J hits a max of about 370 so I've been reading other posts and I set it for 370. The 28awg set at 18J 410 has no problem hitting 410. I'm thinking I like the vape better on the 28awg at 18J 410. better flavor not so hot. Maybe I will stick to that. I'll vape one more tank and see.

Yep I agree. I had to try it cause so many were saying how good it was the 26. I don't know how much the temp is off using a .085 coil but tried the 28 at .065 and it didn't have the flavor that it does between .08-.09. So I think I have found my sweet spot. I did order 2 more Kanger STM the older style with the extra tank which I really like with Kanthal and Nickel. I am aquiring quite a few heads which I don't use very often but with 6 STM I have quite a few heads. I also got a box of the NI200 heads for them which I haven't tried on the SX only on the DNA and didn't care for them on that. In a pinch might be able to use them not the .5's though didn't care for those at all. I have gotten a way of rebuilding them down now so when I have some time and feel like it might do that.

Another question I have is with the 26awg build I get a lot of popping that I don't with the 28awg anyone else noticed that and could too much wicking cause that. I am pretty sure I got it wicked correctly just like I do with all the others.

more likely not a tight enough wick but other may disagree!!

Just curious about something which I'm sure there are a lot of other opinions. I have been using the Kanger STM on both of my M's and seem to work great. Thinking of getting another couple for different flavors, are any in that price range as good or better. Have heard the Lemo2 pros and cons. What do you guys think. Hows the airflow on the Lemo 2 comparitively and how hard is it to build comparitively. I am only interested in RTA's Oh also have any of you gotten the new STM with the different air flow.

The airflow and top fill are the big selling point: true for me.

Initially, I liked the Lemo 2, a lot, flavor stellar, vapor too. For MTL you can easily dial in your preference.

On the 40, just about perfect at 0.10-0.13...after the K4. On the SX, a bit finicky. I've had to modify the 510 with a grommet (twice for the SX, not the 40). 7 wraps, 26awg, would be excellent for SX ohms spec but going to the upper limit of 0.11-0.12 is likely smarter. Next build I will go with 8 wraps. Wicking at 0.7-0.8 is hit and miss.

Disregard the reviews by PB and RT...and especially SmM...

One thing about PB's is getting to see how the SX works on the scope but didn't understand why he did all his vaping at 40-50J. The 26awg goes through the juice and battery about twice as fast as the 28 and too hot for me. I might try 1 more wrap with the 28 again. The first one I built was 8 wraps at .1 and vaped really well taste wise and that is the most important part to me. I am a flavor chaser and have some good ones and thats what works for me. .09-.1 is perfect for me even if it is not the perfect .065. I guess it's what you like that is important here right?

Old habits die hard. Watching Grimm vaping on a 40 at +500F and 40 (or so) watts was painful.

To each....

I got my Sx Mini M Class Thursday. I got the black/silver. I was already on the fence about it. I already have a problem. I had some juice leak out of my Lemo 2  Some of the juice got onto the top part of the mod. I took a soft white cloth to wipe it off and looks like some paint come off with it :-x Now the bottom part is all shiny and fades to a nice dull finish up top. I am so mad right now I could just scream. Needless to say the device is going back to the vendor or yihi. If the fnish is no better then that I may just get a refund. When are we gonna get a sleeve for this thing. Also does the grey/silver have finish problems or is it the black versions?

Did you get the new version of the black? The new version is a real rough finish. I got one and it seems pretty durable. Feels completely different not even sure if a wrap will fit on them. They are already sold out. But they were the second batch. If you got the old version which it sound like, IDK who you got it from, but they are replaceable if the paint chips off. Love those Lemos

How do I tell if I have the older or newer ST Mini? I have one in a box (with an extra tank) that I just received from a co-op.

two slots in the AFC and should have a set of black replacement o-rings..
So is this the new or old? And what are the advantages?

Well did some watching and the 26awg at 18J hits a max of about 370 so I've been reading other posts and I set it for 370. The 28awg set at 18J 410 has no problem hitting 410. I'm thinking I like the vape better on the 28awg at 18J 410. better flavor not so hot. Maybe I will stick to that. I'll vape one more tank and see.
2leggs, I am using 20J when using 26ga due to the thicker wire. With 28ga I like 14J. Right now I am using about 80%VG and I am reaching my temp at 415F. My calculated resistance is at .070 ohms. With the thicker wire I am now setting the Joules first to 20J and the temperature real high, around 500 and see how high the temperature will settle in when firing it, and then I change it to that temperature.

My current wire is a twisted 26ga NI200 with 18ga Kanthal on my Lemo 2. The vape is just incredible in flavor and hugh cloud production. Since I changed the drip tip from the supplied massive tip to the tip from my original Lemo, the flavor is perfect. It used to take around 4 seconds to heat that coil up when I had it secured in the post holes, but I since cut them shorter and managed to wrap them around the screws and that brought down the resistance and also the ramp up time due to the long legs. Much better combination. No more long legs for me with NI200 or else the ramp up is just too much waiting time. :thumb:

I also was very disappointed with PB's review running his SXM at 50J. I think the most I found useful might be 24J and that is rare. I do 14J with 28ga and 20J with 26ga as my go to spot and adjust if needed depending on whether I am giving enough power to work with the coil in use, or want more or less warmth.

Using a very high Joules setting you will see your temperature bouncing all over the place as the SXM puts too much power to the coil to keep the TL at your set temperature. I have seen the bounce as high as 30F which makes for TL to not be effective at all.

Like several others have also said, the Powerful and Powerful+ modes don't seem to work properly when using TL. I find this to be more true when increasing the Joules. It is somewhat functional around 14J, but seems to defeat the purpose with higher Joules settings. So I recommend just using Standard or Soft mode until they revise their software to deal with those modes better in TL mode. It does work perfectly in wattage mode.

When adding juice to the Lemo 2 I have not had any leakage as long as I fill the tank when horizontal, close off the air intake, and use a fill nozzle that fits into the opening and goes down close to where it touches the chimney. I also ensure that I keep the nozzle to one side so there is room for air to escape. With 100% VG you just have to take it slow and ensure that it doesn't jell up on the opening preventing the air to escape otherwise it will run over for sure. With higher PG juice, it works very easily. The top fill is a very nice feature and one that will high on my list for future tanks.
