Heh. "Modified Bug" - They're not fixing it, just modifying it! ;)

Well it's nice they posted about the update and provided a bit more insight into what it will have. The additional power and two new functions will certainly be added value for some. I just wish we could see their development change log. Really curious which bugs their going to modify. :)

The honeymoon must be over. Everyone must be off enjoying their SXmini M. Thread's certainly slowing down.

My honeymoon with the device is certainly not over, but I know what you mean. I suppose it's a great thing that a thread dies down, and only occasionally, somebody needs a bit of support.

The update is nice, but I don't really go above 30W, so for me it's more about the bug fixes (power modes in Joules?) and perhaps some better power management. My paint (black) also starts to deteriorate, but I guess I'm going to address that with a wrap. When the black/black devices come available here, and the paint problem is proven fixed, I might even get a second one.

Me as well. I'll never push it that far but curious. Some have posted single battery will be up to 75 watts. I think it's going to take some pretty good batteries to get that though.

I see they posted on their Sxmini facebook page no change with using single battery.

Well I just accidently rebuilt both Kangers in about 30min. I just hand wrap them on my 3mm coil master give them a little squeeze and let them spring back, if not good enough stretch them and do it again. The coils for this beast are so easy. They don't have to be perfect 12-14 wrap like the DNA. I hit .087-.089 everytime 7 wraps 28awg. Perfect for me. When I say accidently it's cause I pulled the wrong one off then the one I was going to do so had to do both. I love nickel now, hated it about a month ago.

I don't have a dozen Subtanks like you but I do have 2. I've just went with keeping the RBA deck for nickle on the SXmini m so I always have one built ahead of time for juice changes and I use the OCC coils with kanthal in the SX350 v2. Still working on rebuilding the OCC heads, It seems when I rebuild one it doesn't wick as well as it did when new. Maybe stuffing it to tight, not sure but it's working out alright for the most part.

I'd say the theoretical max one might be able to get out of an 18650 battery is 100 Watts or so. That's assuming you have a battery that can support 30A continuous at the nominal voltage. 75W is probably a more usable limit. Personally, that's not something I'm interested in achieving. When I use Kanthal, I actually prefer a 1 to 2 ohm coil for use with higher strength e-liquids.

It is fine there is not going to be an update for single batteries users (yet), I am okay with that. The fact they can upgrade it and I don't have to go buy a new damn mod is well worth it.
It is a rare day I ever go above 24J anyway so it means little to me and wattage mode itself is rare for me these days.

About 86 watts with a 30a battery and 57 watts with a 20a battery, assuming 90% efficiency and a lowest battery charge of 3.2v.

Yeah, I just took the spec of the VTC5, looked at the nominal voltage and continuous max amperage and went with that as a potential maximum limit, but other factors may apply. In reality, what a Lion battery can do at more extreme limits is highly subjective and probably asking for trouble.
