Hey a friend of mine got some 30awg wire you guys that use it twisted how many wraps do you use 2 strands twisted and what size coil?
It's like a car, a driver can get from point a to b with a manual transmision but an automatic will be slightly easier and less involved for the driver.
OK guys, I guess I just don't get the whole TC thing......
I got my SX Mini about a week ago, and some Vapor Shark Atlantis coils for my Starre tank a few days ago. Besides the fact that I can draw on the TC atties indefinitely without it burning, I can't really notice a difference.
With all the fiddling I've been reading about in these threads about getting a TC coil to work correctly, I just don't understand what all the fuss is about? I mean, I can make a good Kanthal coil, have it mounted, wicked and vaping perfectly in about 5 minutes....why would I want to fuss with the nickel coils to get basically the same vape??
FWIW, I did try to build a TC coil on my Goliath with some old Ni200, 30awg I had laying around but the Goliath screws kept cutting the leads so I gave up.
I've been vaping for 6 years and building for most of that time and I've got it down to almost zero "fiddling" with Kanthal micro-coils...there just doesn't seem to be enough reward with the TC coils to merit all the fiddling to me. Tell me what I'm missing!![]()
However, for $200, the SXMini M Class is a kick-.... VW mod with the possibilities of future firmware updates for TP.
but i have to say i have never had a better vape than i get on my sx in TC mode and i never have to worry about getting that nasty burnt cotton taste again.
Fine tuning with temp limiting does allow you to get subtle flavor differences.

Given the current state of TP technology, I prefer a different automotive analogy. As has been discussed often in this thread, TP is best utilized as a governor not cruise control.
Nickel does not change the taste of my e-liquid (for the negative)And I'm sorry, but anyone who tells you Nickel does not change the taste of your e-liquid (for the negative) over Kanthal, is well flat out lying.

Yea I later said I should have used unicycle vs bicycle when Tchavei gave me a hard time.At any rate the "current state" is really subjective for so many reasons, the person's ability to build with different wire, different atty connections, static resistance, 510 connections, atty airflow, the coil itself, there's just so many variables that some will be overwhelmed and will have ongoing problems while others will be "crapping in high cotton" And yea it's limiting not controlling.
For me and IMO the "current state" of Temp limiting is an absolute significant advancement. I''m one that's "crapping in high cotton"with the SXmini M. Most notable to me recently sitting here vaping away vaping away reading forums, posting etc.. and all of a sudden GAHHHH Huge Dry Hit, I had forgotten I was vaping on my Kanthal box and ran out of juice because of my lack of attention. If the same thing had happened on the SXmini M "and it has", I would have received a weak hit at which point I'd have noticed I was out of juice. I know I need a second SXmini M so this doesn't happen anymore.

I don't necessarily think that nickel changes the taste of my vape for the negative but I do think it is different than kanthal. Of course every little thing I change (device/atomizer, airflow, power settings, wire type/wire diameter, coil configuration, etc.) changes the vape. The point I think is that we have a new technology that improves the potential safety and eventually the convenience of vaping and we will all learn to adjust all factors to our taste as we explore. Nothing wrong with that at all.Nickel does not change the taste of my e-liquid (for the negative)

LOL. You "forgot" you were using a different mod than he SXmini M? And why would you even be using it/kathal anyway if the Nickel TC is so great?
Come on..... Do you run out of fuel in your car often too? Drippers are one thing, but how hard is it to look inside your tank and see you are running out of juice and refill. Yes, Its a nice gimmicky option to have. but obviously -- as you just admitted to using a different device with kanthal -- not the reason to give up kanthal or other mods.
I'm always running the Delta 2 low on juice. You can't see your level well unless it's in bright light and it being black doesn't help. I don't worry about it on the Mini.![]()
Some posters you just have to /ignore as they will persist in providing the forum with inaccurate or false information then when questioned will only attack the one questioning.
Yes I use two devices daily, due to vapors tongue I switch flavors frequently, And no I don't look at my tank level persistently when I'm busy, not really that uncommon. Perhaps if you read a bit you'll see it's pretty common. And the reason I use kanthal in that device is because it's not temp limiting. Pretty simple.... And also why I stated I needed a second SXmini M.
If this sucks so badly for you, then why exactly are you posting in here? We're all enjoying the hell out of this technology.HAHAHAHA.... Can you tell me where you got this MAGIC nickel from then? I'd sure love a spool.![]()
Edit : I should add though that I can taste flavour notes with Ni that I was not getting with Kanthal
