Hey a friend of mine got some 30awg wire you guys that use it twisted how many wraps do you use 2 strands twisted and what size coil?

I twist 2 strands of 30, and i like between 5 and 7 wraps on 1/8" bit. Gets me from about 0.07-0.10. I stick to between 20 and 25J, and about 375F or so in my tanks. Hope this helps.

Hearing the "rattlesnake" is a GOOD thing. It means your device is hitting the set temperature and WORKING to keep your units at that set temperature. You have your joules set very high. Yes, that will get you to your temp faster -- and maybe needed with that long leg, but will also magnify that rattlesnake sound. Try lowering your joules to the point it ramps up quick enough for you. The lower the joules the less rapid the rattlesnake or heart beat will be.

I needed to set a higher joules to get the heat I wanted but was able to turn it down after I went back in and re-wicked the coil. The long leg had me a bit concerned but when I was attempting to re-build the stock Kanthal OCC heads the coils are made of non-resistance - resistance - non-resistance wire, and the legs (2) have to travel from the coil to the base of the OCC head which is a lot longer than the single leg that I have and that has me a bit confused. I have gotten to the point of making a nice looking coil but the understanding of nickel wire and it's properties have me out in left field.

Just got my Jwraps and I am not pleased. I figured they would be one piece around the body and not cover the silver and I thought the front panel would be silver like the device. Not sure how they will look. For some reason I thought they would be a little more professional and not all the same color. Looks to me like I wasted $37

I'm always running the Delta 2 low on juice. You can't see your level well unless it's in bright light and it being black doesn't help. I don't worry about it on the Mini. :)
I have done that many times with the limited view of the Delta II but I love the vape and have never had a burnt hit with the SXM. Only a weak flavor until I realize that I am drying the wick and the tank is completely empty. lol

I have noticed a taste difference with Ni and was not sure if it was just me so needed to prove it
Have two STM that I filled with same juice, one built with nickel the other kanthal
Vaped on the Ni and then switched to the kanthal and instantly noticed the kanthal was much better tasting

Its not all bad news though as followed Tony's lead a few pages back and now read the Ti safety thread from start to finish and I am sold
Looking forward to the clean taste am used to and still keeping the tc option alive
With the added bonus of pretty blue n gold coils ;)

Edit : I should add though that I can taste flavour notes with Ni that I was not getting with Kanthal
I am also getting new flavor notes and enjoying them. Even old juice that has been put away for emergency use is now usable and even enjoyable when I dial it in properly. I do notice that the NI200 I use will taste better after a build if I wash it off first before building. Maybe there is some chemicals or oils that are being used in the manufacturing process. With a good wash on the NI200 I really don't have a problem with taste.

Here's a link to some additonal data for coefficient of resistivity for titanium. This data is for "iodide titanium" which is likely the most pure form of titanium that we'll find data for (99.99% pure). The data is easier to digest and likely more precise than other data I've found but again it's not specifically for Grade 1 Commercially Pure Titanium. A cursory review of the paper (so far) suggests that much of the data are pretty applicable to those of us interested in the technical aspects of creating our own curves for an open source board/mod such as that which will be available pretty soon via Cloudmaker Tech.

The paper is primarily for titanium and thorium. The latter is decidedly NOT recommended for much of anything related to vaping since it's radioactive. :)

The applicable data for Ti are in the general range of page 26 +. There is also some good information on line fit/equations early in the paper.

I hope this helps.

I had a WHOA moment when I read thorium then I read your addendum :) (I'm a TIG Welder and use thoriated tungsten) I have enough problem accepting vaping with nickel. I haven't researched it but I don't believe it's a problem at all with the low temps of vaping. :) I won't do chromium though :)
I won't do chromium either but for a lot of reasons other than hexavalent chromium. That's the most popular No-No for Cr but I'm not sure it applies to vaping. In any case let's not do chromium coils together. :)

Quick Question....There is a guy/company on ebay selling a Pre Order for the new batch of SX Mini M Class for $149. That seems a little low. How can he sell them $50 cheaper then another vendor?
Preorders and group buys for the M-Class were around $168 (or maybe it was $158, I can't remember for sure) before its release, but I've never seen them go for that low.

If you find out it's legit, that's a stellar deal!!!

Ain't an authorized dealer.. If Yihi finds a company selling their devices under the "contracted price" they will not sell to that company again..

Could be just someone trying to unload the "original" versions with the messed up paint

Beware.. IMO What's sounds to good to be true, usually is lol

I saw that up on eBay, There are people saying that YiHi will not support warranty claims from non approved venders such as this, and yes the SX Mini has been cloned. I saw it posted somewhere if I find it again I'll post it.
