Seems there are a few genuine ones making an appearance globally I had a message from a battery specialist I know so grabbed some too. But for max vape time at low to medium amp pull on a regulated mod they may well of been superseded now.
Seeing 33000Js with HG4s and 30Qs a VTC5 is a good deal behind. Obviously if you max your M class at 50J or 60W then a VTC is good but I like others don't vape above 25J or 30W so even the 25Rs have proven themselves.

I just bought ten (10) VTC 5's. I compared them, "joules-wise", to the 25R's in a recent post (above). VERY SUBJECTIVELY at this point: the VTC 5's give a stronger more consistent vape with 4-6K more joules with the SX.
Seeing the reported joules output, here, I ordered four (4) Samsung (3000) today. I will certainly report the differences in both output/throughput and vape quality...again, very subjective, but REAL for me.
I had picked up a few pairs of the LG Hg2's and Sony VTC5's from Ginger Vaper. My thoughts on the two (and Samsung's new 30Q)
1st.... I am not a fan of the INR technology. While I change out my batteries every 6-months it is not really an issue for me, but the chemistry of such is that it will lose 40% of its ratings after 250-cycles (20A becomes 12A). So anyone planing on using them for longer, just a suggestion, but think twice. Although at like $7 or so a battery don't get why some like to milk them to the last drop.
I havent tested the Samsung 30Q, but it is only claimed to be 15A continuos. Was a deal breaker for me and why I chose the LG HG2 @ 20A.
I've now run a fun cycle with both the LG HG2 and Sony VTC5 in the sxmini. Vape was equivalent for me @ 30J/450F/Standard, but i achieved 33K Joules with the HG2 and 29K with the VTC5. Where the VTC5 shined, for me, was in my SMPL mech mod. Fully charged it hit like a have never seen before.
I'll be using the LG's in my sxmini and Boxer and Sony's for my mechs. Think the VTC5's are overkill for the mini and better off saving the money and getting the longer battery life.
