I wonder how much better Spider Silk is compared to Sweet Spot Ti and how much is hype. $1 a foot the way I go through wire could get real expensive depending on how long a coil lasts. I can't find anywhere what the resistance is per foot of Spider Silk, Sweet Spot is 1.2 ohms per foot. Then I wonder if Sweet Spot is any better then Unkamen. Guess I'll wait and see what others think. Just use nickel for a while I still have about 150' of that.

Go here: 50 feet for $10 USD

If all the hype about longevity with pure Ti is true, it shouldn't cost you more than around a $1 a month. Considering all my other vaping costs, this one is still right there along with Japanese cotton at the bottom.

I agree

Any coil can last months and months. The price is ridiculous.

I still have every spool I bought since I fell into this money pit. I don't even reach half a spool before the next great thing comes out. I used maybe 3 feet of titanium since I got it and at least one of my atties still uses the original Ti coil I did months ago.

Wire price is marginal unless you rebuild every day a handful of atties or are a build freak.

I had a parallel 32g kanthal coil last me 100 days and I rebuilt it in December only because I moved to TC.

Legs,

Ti Grade 1 is the same no matter who packages it. Albeit some is dirtier than other if you check out the link I posted that stuff is whisper clean. It is given an acid bath and washed before they send it out.

I wiped some with a paper towel today and it left NO marks I added acetone, no marks, lighter fluid, no marks and soap and water, no marks. it is just as clean as it can be and it is annealed so you don't have to deal with any springiness.

I just calculated it out on Steam Engine... For a 2.5mm coil with 6 wraps it is .246 ohms using 2.456 inches of wire. If you use a 3mm coil you will get .028 with 6 wraps.

Now if you go for dual coils, you could build 2 with 8 wraps on 3mm giving you .187 ohms, or with a 2.5mm with 9 wraps would give you .18 ohms.

All are assuming their default leg length of 2.5mm each which is on the shorter side.

My Zephyrus and Mutation X v4 just shipped so they will be good dual coil RBA and RDA for my testing with dual coils which seem like the way to go on the SXM which can handle the lower resistances.

Even at $1 a foot for the SpiderSilk Ti wire it should cost me less than dollar using 3.686" of wire plus about 6" of waste wire. I can afford that considering all the junk juice I have bought over the years.

Yeah it would be nice to have a coil that lasts like kanthal again. I have to do my nickel about every 10 days. Only thing with my hands I gotta use a piece about 8 inches long so I can get a hold of it good to place it but with 26 on the STM you don't have to worry about capturing it just put it in the slot between the screw and the post and your good to go. 28 is a little trickier.

:danger:Well it is going to come out soon enough on ECF, so I mind as well be the one to tell how to trick the SX into getting the 75J in Nickel mode? I don't know why you would want to. I only use 20-22J myself 98% of the time, but here it is while the bug lasts. Set it in titanium mode and use anything other than Eco. Adjust your Joules and lock it into one of your memory banks. Then go back to nickel mode and it will still be there and available for you to use in NI200 mode. Now go and blow out your batteries and your mod along with them!!!
Or maybe you shouldn't! :danger:

I was at my local vape shop and saw they had an SX Mini M Class in their case. I asked the woman how much she wanted for it. She popped off with 150.00. So now it has a new home. I just couldn't pass it up at that price. She said she was tired of looking at it. Glad I could resolve her issue.

Tapped from my LG G3

lol 9 atty's thats a lot to keep track of...I have a question, your Sub Tank Mini are any of them the new design? I have a Black STM coming with the new RBA Plus (holes on the side of the chimney) and was wondering if and how the wicking would differ from the original RBA? I'm thinking if you don't wick it correctly you would end up with flood city and e-juice everywhere.

Nice Score Halon! Heckuva nice Person to help a Woman in distress like that.

So, for a Buck a foot Spider Silk is thoroughly pre-cleaned and annealed. There's ya difference which may very well indeed be worth the Price to some and/or in certain situations. I type somewhat corrected.
Actually, if I didn't already have a few years Supply of both 28 & 26 ga (as others have pointed out) I just might have seen the Value in the Upcharge for that Service they add.
Thanks for the clarification.

Still no issues here with the Test Firmware in application. Humming along quite nicely.
Be interesting to see and use the Final Release Version once the Field Test is done and Feedback tweaks are made. Lemo 2 will be here Monday and anxious about throwing it on the SX with an @ .2 build and seeing how she purrs.

Happy Fourth to you All. Enjoy!

All of mine are the old style even the 5 extras I have. They all seem to work very well, I had a slight problem with a couple when using the 3mm coil but then I decided to wick them differently. I was getting too much KGD in there the way I was doing it so now I cut the wick to about the length to the edge of the RBA and wet it and stick it to the base leaving the juice ports clear then put the bottom part of the chimney on haven't had any more problems with the wick blocking the juice channels.

Don't believe the marketing hype. Both my mini tubs of the Spider Silk came practically dripping machine oil. The pre-clean'g is a farce. Getting it vape ready requires just as much effort as the cheaper stuff I got from Etsy.
