So I got my bad paint black/silver warranty replacement back today from Varitube (thanks Perry!). Battery cap is the smoothest of the three units I've had, it's actually tolerable, and the paint can't be scratched with a fingernail, a nice improvement. Came with firmware 1.4 but upgraded to 2.32 with no issues, and is of course vaping great.

But, the 510 connection seems a bit different. Atomizers that I'm certain fit flush with my last two units have a slight gap (about 1mm) on the new unit. There's no connection issues, resistance is dead on, it's just like the 510 threading isn't as deep, or the pin bottoms out earlier. Not a huge deal, just curious if anyone else has noticed this.

Good news is, that gap will stop "510 swirl" on the stainless "helipad". :)

Mine all sit solidly on the pad. The springs are very strong though. Is it possible you're just not reaching the full throw of the spring due to the firmness?

It's a hard stop when threading, and even Archimedes and his two appropriate objects can't make it go down further.

Hello all! Hope all is well with your wonderful M Class's :)

Anyway, just a quick question with the latest beta 3.2. For Ti wire. Micro or spaced coils? And why?

I have tried Ni 48 and it's ok but I am finding Ni 200 much more consitant and better taste. It's funny how both wires change the taste of your juice.

I should have some Ti tomorrow (Yaay) and just wondered what you guys were using for your coil wraps.

Cheers!

Wow PapaPro Ni200 has better taste! I have been vaping Ni200 since I got my 1st DNA40 in December 2014 I have bought many many types of Ni200 from almost every company I could find in USA, Germany, Etsy sellers, Japan, UK too many company's to even mention almost every AWG, twisted, harden, annealed, clapton, pre made coils my conclusion was I hated every wire I vaped! Once I found NiFe it was a complete game changer for TC I can use it any TC device. I can use temp offset in what has become an almost redundant evolv board and the DNA40, you can dry burn it, its easy to handle and coil, it has a great TCR and has for me better taste than Ti. :)

Ti is pain you really need to coil it under tension, Titanium oxide is not my friend :), I had to clear the house when I had a coil short and it went up like magnesium ribbon as bright as the sun with deadly white smoke! Dry burning is a massive pain please set to power mode and low wattage and turn the lights off to check for hot spots!

Way way way to much hassle and you want to try coiling the stuff on a boat in bad weather!

But seriously I am sure I got a message from someone today telling me they are vaping violin or guitar strings or something and its the best flavour ever! [emoji14]

My opinion counts for nothing its mine and mine only if you find Nife rubbish and NI200 works for you that's all well and good!

Vape on!;)

Well I can tell you what I use but different people use different Ti coils. I use a coilmaster I use 26awg Ti and I like the Crazy Wire but haven't tried too many others only Unkamen. The Crazy Wire according to The Bloke is actually about a 26.5awg so you get a little higher resistance on my coils about .03ohms. Anyway I wrap a 5 wrap 3mm contact coil on the coil master then I stretch it our just a little to get some spacing works really well. My coils come out about .28-.29ohms. Thats the only coil I have used and it works great others like other coils but I've always used spaced I tried contact but it tasted kind of dry or something but it was different and I didn't care for it. So there you go 5wrap 3mm 26awg spaced. You'll probably get as many different ones as you get answers. Right now though after someone told me how to use it I am really enjoying NiFe48 from Zivipf. I have 4 of my 7 STM's that I'm using with NiFe the other 3 with Ti

You know I really wanted to get a DNA200 but have decided against it, hell I have 5 M's and the only reason I wanted one is all the cool things you can do with it, like the custom themes but I just don't think it is as good as the YiHi chip. Too many problems that I have read about plus user unfriendly software to set it up. But I do think they would be fun to mess with I just love the SX.

You should get a DNA200. I still like my SXMini and use it daily but the DNA is so fun. I ran dual 26g Ni200 coils on a fishbone. Best flavor I've ever had. Couldn't fire on the sxm. It needed 90w. That's the highest I've gone. It was actually the first time I broke 60w.

Escribe is easy peazy!

Naw, 2legs doesn't need it. This is no way a jab at him, but he's a low wattage, small single coil vaper and based on what he's posted over the months, that's not likely to change. He knows what he likes and he's sticking with it, and as such, the DNA200 offers him nothing he doesn't already have with his fleet of SXMs. Worse, he'd lose portability, simplicity, and would be at higher risk of device failure.

Stick with the SX mate. I got a boxer dual 18650 DNA133 as I was fascinated with the escribe interface etc. Hardly use it now. Plugged in a bunch of profiles for Ti and NiFe48 and left it at that. Novelty wore off pretty quickly for me. And I still havent used it with more than 70 or 80W of preheat so even 133 is a bit watsd on me. Might ry some dual coil builds or claptons at some point I guess so maybe it will become more useful! I would also use a Mac-native version of escribe a lot more but dont see that happening any time soon.

If your into low watts you might want to check out the UK SS430. I've built/used 1.8ohm coils with my SX and other TCR adjustable mods. The SX and Boxer currently have 0.9ohm builds in TFV4's. (with silika rope wick) The smaller diameter Ti1 wire can also be used for barely subohm coils.

Earlier this week I logged over 40,000J on the Boxer in 'ECO' mode. :)
