Sun Vapers has suddenly and inexplicably pulled the Mini from their online store.

Sxmini Removed - Sun-Vapers.com

I sent a request for more information from Ed and the SV crew. I'll keep this thread updated with any news. Looks like they're a no-go for getting one of these, at least for now.

That is odd.. I make rounds daily to forums all over the world to check about the SXmini, and have heard of no issues beyond the one we are aware of, and was sorted out...

Ed @ SV is an up-front guy, and one helluva battery safety advocate.. I'm certain if this were issue related, he would have said something about it there for the folks who purchased one already. Perhaps price related? I could have sworn that I saw the price there go up once when I was browsing around..

So most of you think this mod is excellent? I haven't spent this kind of money on a mod yet. My mods are clones (some of which I've put authentic chips in) or inexpensive authentics like a Sigelei 100W and ipv1. I also have an istick, and its kind of crap yet I can live with it for the price.

I am a ProVape fan, and placed my purchase of the P3 on the backburner since I've been enjoying the SXmini if that tells you anything.. ;) I am OVERLY impressed with the build quality, accuracy (damn near dead-on to what is set), features, and performance. IMO, it's up in the the top of best devices for 2014. :)

EDIT: It's well worth going back and reading through this thread if you're interested in the device.. Lot's of good info here from folks who own one.

My thoughts exactly, Technonut. I've only known Ed to yank stuff due to quality control issues, and when there's a potential safety hazard involved he's always quick to offer an explanation stating such. Worst case scenario would be a manufacturer recall, or it could in fact be price related. You're correct, the original price at SV was $189.99 and jumped to $199.99 shortly after. I assumed it was a supply/demand thing, as I've seen them going for as much as $210 (shipping included) on other sites. In any case, I'll let everyone know when I hear back from SV.

roxynoodle: All I can tell you is that this little guy is easily my best purchase of the year. I've barely been using anything else since I got it, and I'm the sort of vaper who likes to have at least 3 or 4 devices in service at any given time. Everything else just seems... I don't know... a little crude and primitive by comparison.

I trashed mine :( long story, beware of dismantling one anyone know how to solder to steel? Anyhow it's toast and reading 'low resistance' with no wired connection to the board :( so on the look out for a SX350 Mini board which are almost impossible to buy I'm the UK and figure out how to fit a Varitube or FDV 510.

Ordered another and selling off 6 or so of my box mods. There maybe a question on the QCing but i like the mod so much I'll sort it;)

My fried SX mini sorry it wasn't personal :(

Sorry to hear about it... :( So, it happened when you attempted to remove the top cap? Hopefully, you will get it sorted, and have a backup when completed. I see you're running the Rose V2 / Stumpy kit.. Exactly what's on mine 90% of the time. ;) Damn good atty and vape.. I was in on the 1st run @ UKV, and liked it enough to purchase the V2.

Oh no, ZeroOhm!

Yeah, need more details please! At what point during the disassembly process did you brick it? How user-serviceable-friendly is it? Dirty toenail clippings inside or no?

As always, quick response from Mike at SV: He apologized for any inconvenience that removing the Mini from the catalog may have caused and offered to cut me a custom invoice and get a unit shipped out to me. He didn't offer a reason why, my guess is that they're simply reserving them for their B&M customers (or maybe they just want to keep The Precious all for themselves, hmmm? Nasty vaperses!).

Went ahead and took Mike up on his offer for a Mini in gray. But now I'm having serious reservations about cracking one of them open thanks to ZeroOhm's results.

Not sure if it's customary for J-Wraps to include two full sets when you order the dual-tone carbon fiber wrap for the Mini, but that's what they sent me. And so, I quickly decided to go with the ever-popular racing stripes look:

... which leaves me with another full wrap for the gray when it arrives:

Next, I will be petitioning YiHi to change this mod's name to "SSmini!"

Everyone got 2 wraps when ordering jwraps but me. Not only that but I had just a horrible experience with them. 3 cup holders and only 1 fits the mods it was supposed to. Now they gave me one of those free; it fits nothing but I guess I can't complain about the free one. But I did send them my mod and the cupholders still dont work. They also gave me a free Hana wrap for my troubles, but it was miscut and covered in defects. So ha ha.

That's a nice wrap, but I'm not dealing with them again.

that may be one thing that differentiates this from American made dna40 boxes. they are not easily serviceable perhaps. I once took apart a evic that failed and it was a disaster. even at this price I doubt yihi means to service them. they throw it away and send another probably.

as far as soldering to the metal you need butane iron and flux.

I still bet it is nice and clean, no cold solder or anything. just maybe once together, always together. kind of like myself and the sx mini!
