rounding third and heading home...
Yeah, that tube destroys the whole sexy vibe for me. Can't do it. We all know a 2 batt version will be coming next.
i may be wrong, but i believe the tube IS the two battery version. if you are thinking they are building a different mod -they might but it won't be the sx mini, probably something else entirely. the tube is the extension which makes the mini a 120watt mod. that's it. it is so weird and ugly i just have to have it, just like my AMC Pacer. you want to look away but you just can't. this, from someone who never vapes over 50 watts anyway....yes, i must have this tube....

I received my SXMini on Friday and I've been playing around with it to get a feel for the menu system. So far I am impressed with the SX350 chip and think the device is overall very nice. I do have a few issues with some "minor" build issues.

The first is the 510 pin. I note that people say not to turn it but when I put any atty on it my 510 pin will inevitably turn at least 1/4 turn. This happens even though I am not tightening down all of the way. So far all of the attys I have tried have gaps (Orchid V4, KF, Nautilus Mini, Aerotank) and I'm nervous about busting this pin. Anyone else finding their pin turning like this and is it a problem?

Second, I notice some tooling marks along the top of the device that simply should not be there for a $190 piece of equipment. I've sent cell phones back that have less of a blemish. Here is a pic of one side (the other side is a bit better but still noticeable. Now I realize I'm very picky, but are others finding these tooling marks?

No, mine is darn near perfect construction wise. I have a minute gap where the sleeve connects against the frame on one side. And my Rose connects to the 510 with no gap.

I do think they will make an entirely new mod with 2 batts. I will be surprised if they don't. It won't be called the sx mini; it will likely have a different name.

looks like a stress crack during the milling process ??

It almost looks like these are mount points during manufacture where it is clamped somehow. In looking at this picture from Coval Vapes (where I purchased the unit), you can see similar marks on their review sample (click on pic for full size).

Coval requires notification of a "defect" within two business days of receipt and only offers an exchange. I'm really debating returning this for a new one when they receive it. If the mark was located somewhere where I wouldn't see it every time I vape, I'd probably be less bothered by it. I just can't decide if returning it is worth the hassle and waiting for Coval to get new stock.

You're so gangsta .. I can only handle 22W with the Sub Tank :p

You need to install the SXI software on your PC first. YiHi will be putting the relevant files for the mini on the yihisxmini website soon, I'm waiting for that before I make a walkthrough video. In the meantime, you can get the SXI Driver HERE. Once you have it installed, the .sxi file will be the one you'll select within the SXI program to update. I assume you've already verified that your SXmini is running v1.02?

In other news: Subtank at 32W Soft. That is all.

so-so video. when he says it is overpriced by $40 he loses me there-if anything, compared to the present marketplace, the sx mini is underpriced for what you get. it is simply the best value in a high-end regulated mod.good luck finding a comparable mod for $150. the funny thing is, if you did find one, it would most likely be powered by a yihi board....i believe that is called irony.....

I didn't watch it yet, only opened the video in another tab to view later, but if that is what he said then it already gets a thumbs down. No way the SXmini is over priced, if anything its under priced. I am sure that this was "China bias" speaking. Too many believe that just because a product is made in China that it should be cheap, which is really messed up, and very unfair.

I wonder what he thinks of the value of the Vapor Shark rDNA, because the Sxmini craps all over that box without straining :glare:

I agree with you, for $190 there should not be a single flaw, especially when there is a QC pass card in the box. So I don't think that you are being picky. I only had the very slight misalignment with the frame and body on side, but its not very perceptible in normal viewing. But I was looking for flaws when I got mine because of Yihi's big talk. But I don't have any kinds of blemishes or scratches on mine.

For the flush mounting ... remove your battery, install your atty first, then reinstall the battery. The degree to which the battery cap is screwed in, also directly affect the degree too which the spring loaded pin can adjust. If done the way that I describe you should be able to flush mount your atty and flush fit your battery cap.

I have not had any issues with flush mounting, and when I did have a micro gap with my Aqua V2, this is what I did to resolve that, and it worked like a charm :)

Yup, Ive loved the SX Mini since it was announced, and even I had that bias. Once it was released at 189 I said time and time again "This needs to be $140ish because its chinese and the body is costing them pennys" and the like....In fact I didnt buy one specifically for that reason. Then I continued reading the ongoing thread, bought it and realize oh how very wrong I was.
So I understand him thinking that, however im shocked he continues thinking that even after having it in hand.
