Yeah...that's not actually mine lol. The owner does swear by it and he pretty much always carries it with his authentic zero. He loves that thing, says is a tank and has never let him down. I'd think it's safe to say he would but it again. Don't think I've ever heard him complain about it.

I'm not personally a fan, but different strokes I guess.

Well that is good to hear .. not sure its sexy enough for my taste, but I haven't completely ruled it out yet. :)

Sounds like I have willpower, doesn't it? Nah, I just have too much to do and not enough time until Friday, coincidentally the same day the batteries arrive.

Well you know that I cannot wait to see it, but most especially I cannot wait to hear your thoughts after you have had a chance to use it. Welcome to the club honey :)

Did they release a new firmware? The YiHi site still only lists v1.3.

Haven't put my Subtank on yet, only been vaping my Mini Nautilus. I'm off tomorrow, so I'll have time to get the ST setup and paired up with the Mini.

Also (after reading quite a few posts in this thread) I picked up the OTM Aqua V2 from FastTech. Hopefully it lives up to the hype. Was also thinking of picking up a Mutation X V2 - any feedback on how it pairs with the Mini?

1.3 (technically 1.3.1 but the Mini displays it as 1.3) is the current firmware.
Trust me youll love the Aqua V2 once wick it right, we all use em for a reason! lol
Im not a huge fan of the MutX, when I got it i used it a couple times and put it away. The airflow is way overkill for the Mini too. What are you looking for in a dripper? Is vapor or flavor taking the front seat? The Vertex V2 is a very happy medium between flavor and vapor.

Dont do it! If you thought the Vaporshark felt cheap you are gonna hate the Solara. I first saw it at Vape Summit, once regulated mods started hitting the market cheap I always said the Solara is a sub $100 device.

More or less something to use around the house. I'd like a balance of flavor and clouds - maybe lean more clouds since I've read the Aqua V2 is a flavor machine.

While I agree that they are in the same class of devices, I think the Solara feels just a touch nicer; however, I'll not own either of them. Apart from the nonremovable battery (dealbreaker), for the price, much better Mods are to be had.

I will however, completely agree, that if you dislike one, you'll definitely detest the other (unless size was the only factor).

Thanks for the concise explanation of the firmware versions!!!

I actuall love my Mutation X V1 on my SX Mini!!! If you build it with lots & lots of surface area it will make Flouds for you (Flavorful Clouds!!)!!
The thing that has me owning multiple MutationX's, is its price and stats! For the price you get adjustable airflowfrom super closed to stupid open, copper positive contact, and removeable top-cap.

I've done 8 &10 wraps @ 2.5 mm in both 26 &28 Gauge. :) awesome. I've also run a dual parallel 5 wrap 26g @2.5mm Ω-ing out at .16...while it does work pretty well, I thought the higher ohm single strand dual coil builds had denser fog in regulated mode. Now by-pass mode on the other hand :)

One last thing...How the heck do you make your Vape porn so big?! (That's what she said lol!) I emailed fullsize pics, opened the fullsize pics on the PC, but the mini-me pics show up when I upload......?!

Um... I just put the pics on my computer, then use the website to upload them directly...I'm doing it wrong aren't I?

You need to upload your pics to an external hosting site (Imgur, imageshack, etc.) and then you can use the image tags to embed to your image.

Good to know. When I first received mine, I was this _ close to screwing/unscrewing that connector, just to play around a little. So glad I didn't.

Well, I did mess with it a bit. I figured it wasn't adjustable (since it's floating anyway), so I didn't get crazy with it. I have one old original EHPRO Kayfun 3.1 still in my rotation that has a particularly long 510 connections that won't sit QUITE flush (but very, very close), so wanted to see if there was any adjustment in it.

Sounds like they didn't change the throw on the floating pin, which is a bit surprising because that's really the only minor fault I have with this mod.... I need maybe another half-millimeter and everything would be flush. Not a biggie, because the mod is awesome in every other respect.

I recently experienced a small issue with my SXmini, and thought that I would wait until the entire RMA process was completed before posting..

I was swapping batteries, and noticed a small amount of e-liquid on the top. I had been using my GG iAtty, which is known to leak some through the 510 pin at times. Upon closer inspection of the SXmini's 510 connector, I found that the gasket around the pin had cracked. I know the electronics are sealed away from any danger, but I explained to YiHi that no vaper would want a device (especially at the SXmini's price-point) that leaks on the battery.

So, two days of e-mails and a pic of the damage to YiHi later, I was directed to contact the vendor I purchased the device from, with a forwarded request from YiHi for an RMA exchange. I informed YiHi that the vendor had no stock. YiHi contacted VAPRO (distributor for vendors) for me, and I had an RMA # and address to ship the SXmini to.. :)

I shipped the device on Monday... was received by VAPRO on Wednesday... and the replacement shipped out on the same day. According to USPS tracking, it's 20 miles from me, and will be in action tomorrow. :vapor:

I must say that out of all my devices, I REALLY missed using the SXmini.. I will HAVE to get another when the new shipments arrive with the modified 510 pin. I have no idea which revision I'm getting tomorrow, but since VAPRO is a distributor who moves many SXmini's, I'm hopeful that It may be the latest. If not, I know better than to screw around with the pin.. I just hope the gasket holds up without cracking again.. ;)

I'm impressed with YiHi's RMA service.. It only was a week to totally take care of the RMA, and have the device back to me. (If USPS doesn't screw-up within 20 miles of here... :p )

Totally with you on the surface area thing. I'm rocking dual 12-wrap. 1/8", 28awg coils on my plume veil at 1.4 ohms and it's amazing. Higher resistance, more surface is really the way to go when you can push higher voltage through it.

Apologies for my radio silence glad you got this sorted I have zero confidence in most UK retailers and warranty claims but it is known as Rip off Britain!

That washer/insulator/gasket is the one that has gone to atlantis on mine :( rendering my mini unusable as it is nowhere to be found. I was going to get someone to make one of the same dimensions out of delrin/peek/nylon but that is going to be tricky.

After reading your post I may well just remove the 510 completely and retrofit a FDV V4 510 that way any probs later on will be easily fixed with avail spares.

The 510 is epoxied onto the aluminium chassis I have to say one of minis has been the mod from hell partly my fault and partly design and materials.

I will post back when I get my life back.

You can see the missing insulator/gasket Technonut has posted about in the PIC below.

Does anyone know a good way to remove epoxy resin will heating it up be the best way?

You can either upload smaller resolution files or try putting a lowercase L on the end of the image name... so instead of putting image002.jpg try image002l.jpg
