SXmini mod ... Yihi

has anyone heard or seen any mention of the extension tube to increase wattage with two batteries? while others think it is hideous as far as looks, i don't and really would like to get my hands on a couple of them. i know it would require a firmware update so if they aren't available maybe they are waiting for the update to be completed before releasing them? anyone know of any news on this front? c'mon yihi let's go and give me my 120 watts! you keep posting that number in all of your ads now make good and deliver them....

Its great that they will bring a new Sxmini with the new chip, but I was hoping for a more interesting selection of finishes and colors.

I don't want nuthin to do with a Pink SXmini. So I guess I will be wrapping a new one.

I do beleive the chip set is ready you just need the "TUBE EXTENSION" 3 weeks ago Varitube was saying 10 days i get the sense that people thought it was so hideous that YiHi droped it. Am with you I would get one just for kicks. Should not be that hard to make. Any moder with a mini metal Lathe can make one. Not much to them. I looked at a few site and only 2 even talked about them and they both say the tubes would be in "soon". I don't have one just been lusting for a month now. Maybe even an old 18650 tube may work, that a long shot. Must be a moder here somewhere that can make one for you.

Not to nit pick but i cant be the only one to notice the Pink charge is not even close to being level :facepalm:

Come on a 200 dollar photo shot and they cant find a pink one with a level micro plug. How about a cover so it does not get dirty and brick the Mod.

I think it's just the compressed photo...the one on their website looks straight to me. SXmini maker,SXmini,yihisxmini,yihiecigar,sx350,yihi sx350, yihi sx350 mini, yihiecigar sx350 mini, gravity sensor,www.yihisxmini.com,120w device But I don't see too well without my glasses, so I could be wrong.

Yes, totally agree here Nikki. These are just not as creative as they could be. Give ma a cool marble or paisley! No pink, no butterflies, no unicorns.

Looks like they also beveled it slightly different and indented a curve into the sleeve as well.

No update needed. I tried it with a tube and wires. Got it up to 120 watts. Granted, i was holding all the pieces together and almost needed 3 hands. But it works.

That is one sweet looking Mod. I have the ipv mini the forms are very close and it just fits my hand like a glove going to be all over the glass. Where do i send my money !

Put me down for pink. With 13 years of marriage to a beautiful woman and 3 kids I'm good with whatever color tickles my fancy, and to me it looks hot. Now the same hot pink in a tube mod...well there are limits to how comfortable anyone can be with their masculinity. :facepalm:

Thanks for posting those..

Looks like an overall clean build to me. It also looks like the electronics are pretty well sealed against leakage through the 510. Aside from the few QC issues reported here and there, I still think YiHi has done an excellent job for it's first complete device. Hopefully, the new SXmini with temp-protection coming in March will address most of the current QC issues to make the device more than worth it's cost of admission.
