ah well, not interested with the evolv board. too bad it doesn't have an sx350, then i would jump all over it whenever it comes back in stock. it just seems a long way to worry about the problems they are having with the dna40- i can't imagine shipping back and forth if something went wrong. in the battle of boards i fall firmly in the yihi camp regardless of where it is made.

Right behind you...
Why is that?

Because they're not Scandinavian. They don't speak a Scandinavian language, they're genetically quite different, and they're proud of those differences. The fact that they were invaded by Sweden and held as a conquered country for 500 years might have something to do with that.

FYI Scandinavia is generally considered Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.

A benefit of using the Erl, top fill capable. Only time one would need to remove the atty would be to change the coil or re-wick, twice a week at most for me, YMMV.

Still, one can barely get a grip on it. What if the 510 sticks? Beautiful device, just not user friendly, at all.

As for the topic of what temp-protection can do for you.. It may have more to do with our health and potentially harmful emissions than merely avoiding dry-hits. ;)

As posted before, Dr Konstantinos Farsalinos is conducting a vaping temperature study. The results more than likely will be eye-opening to many vapers. It could very well be that TP will be necessary to avoid potential health risks. We won't know until the study concludes.

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/e-cigarette-research-temperature-of-evaporation

Continuing our commitment for unbiased research on e-cigarettes, we are now launching a new campaign for what we consider to be THE MOST IMPORTANT aspect in e-cigarette safety and future development: TEMPERATURE OF EVAPORATION.

Temperature evaluation is one of the most crucial factors in determining safety of e-cigarette use, and any improvements in this field will further reduce any small residual risk associated with e-cigarette use.

Temperature evaluation is one of the most important areas of research in e-cigarettes, since it is a major determinant in thermal decomposition of e-liquid ingredients.

•We believe that it is not just the peak temperature that matters but the integral of temperature over time of puff.

•It may be preferable to vape at higher wattage with shorter puff duration rather than take prolonged puffs at lower wattage levels.

Trust me, you will have to do the same with TC in order to know the proper temp in order to avoid the very same things.

I think the whole point of the dna40 is so you don't have to worry about doing exactly that. I've heard nickel builds are a pain compared to kanthal, but if it makes a healthier vape I will learn how how to build. The temp works on moisture of the wick against the coil. A dry wick will make the coil reach temperature faster and the 40 will then dial back. Put a few drops on the wick and the power kicks back in till the temp is reached. Airflow will also drop the temp of the coil. To be able to regulate the temp of the coil, you must use a metal that ramps ohms as more power is applied. Nickel can do this, kanthal can't, at least not to the degree of accuracy needed. As long as you have a properly built coil, and all connections are solid, you should never get a burnt wick. It's a pain, but it's new tech and it might take awhile to get it figured out. I think when they can make it easier for the common consumer to use, it will be accepted into the mainstream. I have a couple boards coming to play with and if I find building with nickel is too hard, I won't have a lot invested. The idea is solid it just needs some easy solutions. How about an RBA that has two flat blocks that pinches the wire ends of coil instead of going around a screw or tearing them up through a hole? How about here's the technology now how can we build around it to make it work? The safer we make vaping the less reasons 'they' will have against it.

First time I hear about that finns don't like to be called Scandinavians:D It's actually pretty vague are we them or not, in spoken language we sure are, officially maybe not, found both results on google and some yes or no discussion on forums.

hi guys..
anyone knows the voltage cut off for the sx mini? I started off at 4.18v(freshly charged), at about 3.69v the battery bar is at the halfway mark.. if I go on vaping at what voltage does it stops? 3.4v?

thanx

It cuts off at 3.3v actual resting voltage.. :)

Actually, Finnish is a Uralic language (not Indo-European) and Swedish, Norwegian and Danish are from the Germanic branch of the Indo-European languages. The Finnish language at its root actually has more in common with Estonian and Hungarian than Swedish, Norwegian and Danish.

I just wanted to google it... Cuz I always thought the neighbors of our neighbors, the Estonians, were Scandinavian.

Encyclopædia Britannica. 2009. Scandinavia, historically Scandinava, part of northern Europe, generally held to consist of the two countries of the Scandinavian Peninsula, Norway and Sweden, with the addition of Denmark. Some authorities argue for the inclusion of Finland on geologic and economic grounds and of Iceland and the Faroe Islands on the grounds that their inhabitants speak North Germanic (or Scandinavian) languages related to those of Norway and Sweden.

Apart from that, finns are cool, they buy our liquor stores dry :D

i don't care how "safe" you make it-some people will never like vaping and will always try to block it. it has nothing to do with safety-it has to do with people who want to regulate how you live and don't care about the health issue. it looks like smoking and they won't like it .period. they will always think that way no matter how safe it is proven.

i have found a way to experience the dna40 without having to invest in an expensive mod. i own a protovapor xpv with a dna20. for a fee they will replace the board with a dna40 board. now i can honestly compare the different boards for myself. i know if i have any problems with the dna40 i will have a good dealer who will repair it quickly. it will have one chance. unlike others i have read about, i will not go back and forth to get it working correctly. having a pair of sx minis means the dna40 mod is stricly for back-up- i hope there are no problems but i won't despair if there are- i already own the best IMHO.....
