Hi All,

Currently using an iStick which I do like but was thinking of getting something better and considering the SX Mini.

Can anyone post the dimensions in comparison to an iStick please as I don't want to go too much bigger than the iStick as I love the form factor.

Cheers in advance

I'll do you one better - user Onedesign1, who runs varitube.com, posted pictures of it side by side with an iStick on his vendor thread about the SXmini. Check them out here.

Agreed. I'm really surprised there's not a lot more buzz in the community about this mod. YiHi's chips are extremely well-liked, and everyone I've seen review the mod loves it. This is a home run and really beats most of the box mods out there right now in multiple areas - fit & finish, size, visual appeal, selectable power curves, tool-less battery replacement, etc etc etc. You'd think it would be the hot new thing, but it seems to be going relatively unnoticed. I know it's not as cheap as the IPVs, and that temp control is the new hotness, so a lot of people like the Vapor Shark, but this guy is the Provari of high wattage mods. You'd think it would get a little attention.
Totally with you there;) I'm a UK vaper the SX mini has only been here a few days us brits usually have to wait and i mean wait! But given the US Vaping market is huge I understand alot of eastern product releases are there, it's business after all.

The rDNA 40 (if you can get one) is exactly the same RRP as the SX Mini here I have a 20 year history in electronics and actually prefer the mod building side. I like fixing and modding it's the side of Vaping I enjoy the most if I had the time.

I get to see a few mods in all there glory like now I have a Hana Modz l, rDNA and IPV2 on the bench in for repair.

I don't have any brand preference I base my opinion on what I own and repair for other vapers.

The SX Mini is is one of the very few mods that has exceeded my expectations. YiHi as a company can be a little difficult to deal with but someone has a master plan there, quality concerns about some Chinese mods simply cannot be said of the mini it blew me away when I unboxed it;) and as you know vapers can be obsessive picking holes in everything I don't think most of us spent 1/50th of the time on what tobbaco we smoked but such is life!.

I am due to build a DNA 40 soon after all the issues which can happen with any new product evolv have now included the Celsius option but the revised boards were only available for the first time in the UK this weekend! Like I said we have to wait!

The SX mini board was very difficult to get here and £70+shipping was a bit pricey not to mention the time it would take to construct a mod would it be as good as the mini? I don't know of any UK mod builder that could construct something of this quality and if they could it would take months.

I would even stick my neck out at this moment and say my first impressions of the mini exceeded the Carlos Zero;)

Thank you all for the dimensions

Glad we could help. A couple of things to keep in mind. First, you'll probably never see anything quite as small as the iStick in a high wattage device that has decent battery life. More power needs more battery, so theyre' all going to be a little larger. The other thing is that for some reason, this mod looks bigger in pretty much all the pictures of it than it does in real life. Look at pictures of it next to something for a size reference.

very interested in this mod.....

to anybody that knows:

is the 510 pin spring loaded? how are the threads?(SS threads?)

is the 510 pin sealed enough to prevent minor leaks going into the housing/electronics?

my main concern is the 510 threading...I seem to ruin the 510 pretty quickly due to carrying mods in my pockets.

It's spring loaded (4.5mm throw) and really nice threads. As far as leakage, I'm using Lemos on it, which have totally closed, flat bottoms with no way for juice to leak out that way. However, looking into the connector, there seems to be some kind of pad in there that will prevent it. I'm not sure how well partitioned the different areas inside the mod are - you can't really see what's going on without pulling out the copper battery tube and opening it up, and I don't want to void my warranty. That said, if the build quality inside is half as good as it is outside, there's no way they would have left the possibility for juice to get in and screw anything up. They've obviously thought about the little details on this mod.

Took a 4-foot tumble from the top of the water cooler at work today onto a tiled floor. Not me, the Mini. I was shaken, the Mini shrugged it off with only a single tiny, barely perceptible scratch on the silver near the bottom. Impressed.

When I get another one of these (a reality that is looming larger as each day passes ), I have every intention of breaking out my Torx set and digging into this thing. There has to be something wrong with it somewhere, damn it. I bet there's boogers and dirty toenail clippings inside.

And yes, if (when) that happens, I'll take some pics. Unfortunately the season demands that I spend most of my money on other people for now. Grr.

Just to throw this out there.. I was reading bonmatos 's thread over at the French forum, and the question on whether or not to use the SXmini as a pass-through while charging was directed to YiHi by a member. YiHi's response was NO. They said the device can do it, but it's not recommended while vaping..

It was me Technonut, you can read french or use translator? :)
Received mine yesterday and really like it, smallest than i thought.
I just don't like the fact to no see when it is charged or i missed something. It seems the jauge battery stop to blink but as the screen is off after a few secs, don't know how to know it except by waking up the mod.

I'm also very tempted to open this thing to see what's inside. They just had to put a year long warranty on this thing. For all we know, there's probably a warranty void, self destruct mechanism inside.

I used a translator.. My high school French is limited to "hello", "how are you", "not bad", "goodbye", "where's the library", etc..

As far as the charging indicator goes, the "lightening bolt" on the display is about it.. The real-time voltage reading works well enough by seeing when it gets to 4.20v for me though. I have found that my XTAR VP1 does a better job than the onboard charger.. I seem to get more battery life when using it.

I should e-mail YiHi again, and mention that a red/green charging light would be a welcome addition in any future revisions... I do like it on my SX350 box mod.

I can see your point on the charge led but vapers are the most finniky people I know;)

Personally a charge led would ruin the aesthetic appearance sure you would have functionality but really those over bright red/green leds used on evolv charge boards? None of the colours match the colour of the oled display;)

More points another case hole for debris or lquid to get in?

Only a white led would be aesthetically matched for a SX mini?

A focus group to decide on the brightness during charging, should it be on then go off when charging is complete?

I know it sounds like I am having a go at people maybe I am but I spent some time last night comparing my SX mini to a genuine ZNA.

510 is off
Option buttons rattle
Mismatched charge light colours with the evolv screen.

How much did it cost in comparison to my perfect SX mini?

There will never be a perfect mod ever!

These are my own opinions I don't expect anyone to agree with me, I just think some vapers are the fussiest people on earth.
