On a side note - I took a couple hits off one of my Evod 2's today while my mini was on the charger & all I can say is wow! There is no going back now - this mini rocks!

I've been lurking here for a while, and reading a lot about the SXmini. I finally bit the bullet and ordered one - it arrived today. I ordered the grey version from VariTube, and their "new batch" still has the slotted positive pin, not that it's an issue for me at all.
For a Chinese mod, the quality is outstanding, but still not up to ProVape quality. Machining tolerances are not perfect, but nothing to complain about. The only thing that bothers me a little is that not only is the window too small for the display, but it's a bit off-center causing the "top" row of pixels to be cropped off if viewing it dead-center. If viewed from the left, you see all the pixels, barely.
I put one of my drippers on it. It's a 0.29-ohm build, which with a fresh charged battery works out to 60.8W, so I set the SXmini to 60W. I swear the SXmini hits a lot harder than the same dripper on a good mechanical, so I backed off to 50W. I got a bit nic'd out, but maybe that was from over-vaping due to the excitement of new vapemail.
I've played with a lot of box mods, and never thought I'd get one, but... The ipv kinda sucks IMHO. Someone at work has one, and while it looks nice, the display dims so much you can't even see it unless you're in a dimly lit room (unless it's being fired). Not sure if there's a setting for that, but the owner didn't know of one. I'd say the SXmini really doesn't have much competition, and I'd consider it the king of regulated box mods. The closest one I've seen is the Vapor Flask (at $300 mind you), but it only has a 40W DNA40. 60W is the sweet spot for me, as most of my dripper builds come out to 50-60W.
Your voltage output tests are good to know, makes me even happier I picked up this little vaping champ.I would agree that while the quality of the material used are good quality, there needs to be some improvement with assembly and qc. While I was shooting the photos for my review today, I did notice a few more minor flaws that I did not previously notice.
However, when I got to the point of testing the accuracy of voltage output, I was impressed. This is the most accurate chip I have used to date. I did have some issues with the resistance changing while I was testing (.56-.6 ohm) however, whatever the display voltage indicated as the output, that is what I got on the meter. In most cases it was exact.

I noticed the ohms doing that when I had the clone vulcanizer between the top cap and the atty.
Maybe the 510 in your voltage meter just has some hard city miles on it?
pretty porn btw. I do however, notice an utter lack of fur in your porn lol

okay, so seems like Varitube has the old batch still and Yeti Vape is the only vendor with the new batch?
Ginger vaper states they have the newer version........on their sxmini order page. I ordered at 8am and it was shipped off that afternoon. Now for the 2 day wait.
The only difference is the flat pin in the 510. If you know not to monkey with the slotted version there isn't a difference really. Just grab one and enjoy a quality piece.
to anyone looking for the "new" version sx mini- i have bought 2 from Honestvapor.com-they have fantastic customer service(they actually answer the phone and talk!!!), their shipping is fast, and they are just the nice and friendly type of people anyone enjoys doing business with.i believe they only have the gray right now but you can call and check if the black ones came in.
so much for my commercial interruption and now back to your regularly scheduled programming.......
