I've been lurking here for a while, and reading a lot about the SXmini. I finally bit the bullet and ordered one - it arrived today. I ordered the grey version from VariTube, and their "new batch" still has the slotted positive pin, not that it's an issue for me at all.

For a Chinese mod, the quality is outstanding, but still not up to ProVape quality. Machining tolerances are not perfect, but nothing to complain about. The only thing that bothers me a little is that not only is the window too small for the display, but it's a bit off-center causing the "top" row of pixels to be cropped off if viewing it dead-center. If viewed from the left, you see all the pixels, barely.

I put one of my drippers on it. It's a 0.29-ohm build, which with a fresh charged battery works out to 60.8W, so I set the SXmini to 60W. I swear the SXmini hits a lot harder than the same dripper on a good mechanical, so I backed off to 50W. I got a bit nic'd out, but maybe that was from over-vaping due to the excitement of new vapemail.

I've played with a lot of box mods, and never thought I'd get one, but... The ipv kinda sucks IMHO. Someone at work has one, and while it looks nice, the display dims so much you can't even see it unless you're in a dimly lit room (unless it's being fired). Not sure if there's a setting for that, but the owner didn't know of one. I'd say the SXmini really doesn't have much competition, and I'd consider it the king of regulated box mods. The closest one I've seen is the Vapor Flask (at $300 mind you), but it only has a 40W DNA40. 60W is the sweet spot for me, as most of my dripper builds come out to 50-60W.

I would agree that while the quality of the material used are good quality, there needs to be some improvement with assembly and qc. While I was shooting the photos for my review today, I did notice a few more minor flaws that I did not previously notice.

However, when I got to the point of testing the accuracy of voltage output, I was impressed. This is the most accurate chip I have used to date. I did have some issues with the resistance changing while I was testing (.56-.6 ohm) however, whatever the display voltage indicated as the output, that is what I got on the meter. In most cases it was exact.

Your voltage output tests are good to know, makes me even happier I picked up this little vaping champ.

Mini Pornnnnnnnnnn! I received my new Russian 2.0 today, and I really like this combo. It looks better on the Mini than it does on the Zero w/sandblasted sleeve.

I noticed the ohms doing that when I had the clone vulcanizer between the top cap and the atty.

Maybe the 510 in your voltage meter just has some hard city miles on it?

:) pretty porn btw. I do however, notice an utter lack of fur in your porn lol

That could be it, but it does with just my atomizers attached also .. case in point my new Aqua V2. Resistance will change from .66-.70. I think it is the less than 100% stable 510 connection in the Mini itself.

Someone posted today that their 510 pin is turning on its own.

ETA: please forgive the lack of Fur but I try not to give you boys any AMMO .. I am the only one allowed to make off color jokes :D

Nice pics Nik and congrats on the russian. She looks purty.

I had an unfortunate mishap with the mini recently. Some unflavored 6mg juice spilled out the airhole on my quasar, and it seems to have taken the finish off the mini where it dribbled. Has anyone else run into this? Perhaps I too eagerly vaper towel'ed it and managed to rub it off, but still it seems to have a bit to easy.

I'm with retrox in that bumps and bruises make for character (at least I think it was him lol), so not crying a river here or tossing out my mini anytime soon. But noentheless I'm a bit irked about the whole incident.

For a Chinese mod, the quality is outstanding, but still not up to ProVape quality.

Ya know that P3 just grows on you like mold. I bought one just a few days after getting my mini and initial impression was, "meh - s'ok". But the little bugger has charmed its way into my weasley heart. The mini is a beast and there is no loveloss there. I agree quality may be a step down from provape, but I wouldn't say a big step down. I was in the B&M the other day and the owner had just gotten his P3 back from Provape with a major issue related to reading the atty resistance. Go figure - poop happens everywhere. Love both of these mods, but for the flexibility in power range, solid build quality, accuracy, and overall badassery I give the win to the mini. Still...love vapin that damn lil' P3. ;)

Oh and congrats on the mini!

i am sure the p3 is a fantastic mod- but 20watts/6volts just isn't enough for the way i vape. they know their target audience and i know i am not in it. i also prefer the form factor of the sx mini-just feels right in my hand. and let's be real , for $270 yihi could make the sx bullet-proof. i am glad they chose the price point they did(let's me get more than one!).......

Ginger vaper states they have the newer version........on their sxmini order page. I ordered at 8am and it was shipped off that afternoon. Now for the 2 day wait.

okay, so seems like Varitube has the old batch still and Yeti Vape is the only vendor with the new batch?

The only difference is the flat pin in the 510. If you know not to monkey with the slotted version there isn't a difference really. Just grab one and enjoy a quality piece.

Very true and I love mine. It's an excuse to get another one [emoji6]

Peter, how many do you have now, about 7? Just joking with you, enjoy! And if you find you have one too many, send one my way, I could use another.
