They use the resistance wire as temperature sensor. Not being possible to use Seebek effect due to compatibility issues, or the actual bridge configuration, I indeed believe they interrupt the power to the resistance wire in the atomiser periodically, and they measure its resistance to determine the temperature closely. Initially only a wire with high resisitivity variation has been used (Ni200) but if they use a high-gain, high CMRR front-end (a good differential amplifier) any wire can be used for sensing. I believe the problem they face is not amplifier gain or noise immunity, but linearity and repeatibility. In order to get a reasonable linear feedback, they need to isolate, and quickly, the power source, controlled by a MOSFET usually. The technology actually exists under the form of "bridge motor controller" but the latter are relatively big in size and doesn't foresee an high impedance status, which is needed here for a good temperature control. As usual, it is matter of investment in a technical research that will be cloned the day after it hits the markets...

Way outta left field...but damn! I'll take your word for it...

My mini has seen some rigorous daily use. It's with me 24/7. I thought about getting some jwrap to cover up the grey finish that is starting to rub off. But then, M-class is almost here. I am sure this one will make a trusty back-up.

is the m-class shipping to the vendor in 1-2 weeks? or are they shipping the mod to the customers in 1-2 weeks?

I was kinda wondering the same thing, but Varitube says "shipments are expected to be between March 18-25 from Yihi." That kind of sounds like they expect them between that time and they would then still have to process and ship orders to consumers. I might email them today to clarify. I'll report back here swiftly when I hear from them!

Just my two cents

On their website, the guys I deal with say they expect them mid (more like late) march and they start to ship on the 30th....

...pre-orders feel a lot like fasttech orders when it comes to how long before you actually get what you paid for :mail:

Yea...I'm starting to feel like if we have them in our hands by the end of the month we'll be very lucky, especially with how incredibly horrible USPS has been lately.

Varitube already replied, wow! Here's what they had to say...

Subject: SX Mini

Hey there Kenneth ... the latest word we have is they will ship to us on the 20th. From there we would closely track. If the 20th happens I would expect them on the 24th. We will immediately start processing all pre-orders that same day. IF they arrive in the morning we will ship them out the same day. If they arrive late we will still get them packed and labeled. Point is within 24 hours of our receipt we will turn them around.

hope that helps.

Perry

Sincerely,

i can't wait to hear how good the m class performs but i will always enjoy my s class and keep vaping them until either i or the devices die. they still remain the best things i have purchased in vaping and only wish yihi made an RTA to go with them... i know it would be perfect.....

I think the SubTank mini hits a pretty good look on the SXmini...double minis, many minis. The rba on this is a pleasure to install a coil on.

So my SX mini came in a little while ago and ΩG this thing is fantastic. Mine (grey) came with one very minor scuff on the casing but I'll live. The important thing is the FLAVOR. While waiting for the vapemailman I was vaping my Magma, N22, and Squape R using my iPV Mini II and iPV3 and the SX mini puts them both to shame. Even on standard mode at the same power setting flavors are more layered and distinct, in fact I've been having to reduce power by a few watts across the board to dial in my vape. Add powerful mode (friggin amazing for clapton coils) and the RDAs really come alive. Since I got the iPVs I've noticed I have to rewick a lot more often than I did on my mechs (especially the Squape), but even as flavor was starting to drop off using the iPVs they still are strong using the SX mini.

I'm really looking forward to getting to know this mod, thanks folks for the heads up!

Believe the hype, people. This is one club I'm stoked to be a member of.

rounding third and heading home...
Don't I know it! I'm already considering ditching the iPVs for an M class :p

personally i would keep both but.... (Edited by ECF Moderator)

Some advice please. Stumbled into this Thread, and I really like what I am reading so far on this mod.

I am using a Provari but I need a mod with more power for the Kanger Subtank Mini.

I am confused on the Battery for this mod. I have AW 18650: 2200 mAh - Button Tops. Can these be used in this mod? Or, what is the preferred Battery, and I am using a Pila IBC Charger exclusively.

You can use the AW 18650 button top in the SX mini. I use flat tops, but as far as I know there is enough spring play to use a button top.
Anyone else using button tops?

Also, I charge my batteries by removing them from the mod. I have never use the USB charger port. I get a full day of vaping with one battery most days...except some weekends when I tend to have time to vape a bit more than a work day. I use purple Efest, 2500mah.

I run a SubTank mini at 0.5 ohms at about 25-31 watts and a Delta II at about 35 watts all day long.

My question goes out to those that already have an SX mini S-Class. I'm not a big fan of tilt adjustments. Are there menu options only available by tilting the device? If so, will this be the case on the M-Class as well? Thx

Tilting is the only way to access the menu options (after 5 button presses).. I would imagine the M Class will be the same.. I rarely need to access the menu, so it's no hassle for me.. (I kinda like using the tilt feature when I do need to.. :) )
