SX Q class is £169 in uk when they arrive, today I seen hcigar vt133 going for £74.99
The difference is other high end mods don't make that claim. Evolv, Dicodes, and even Yihi themselves use to cap the per battery wattage at between 60-75 watts per battery. In the past they didn't have to resort to over-specing their SX series in order to get sales. It's obviously a change in their way of doing things and imo not a change for the better. I don't expect more from lower end mods, but I do expect more from higher end mods.
Cheers,
Steve
I didn't mean I expect more power from high end mods. That is supposed to mean I expect them not to over-spec them like cheaper mods do (you said 30 or so mods have the same 200 watt specs with 2 x 18650). I expect more honest/attainable specs from high end mods, like Evolv, Dicodes, and Yihi SX line. If you read the whole post, hopefully what I was trying to say will make sense. Why would you expect more power on high end mods. 2 18650 batteries are going to have the same limit no matter what the mod cost. It defies logic to expect more from 2 18650 batteries just because it's a high end mod.
Anyone with a Q Class getting "Your current chip version is old. SX-Q does not support it. Please upgrade to Version V2.205." when loading up the Q software?

Evolv specs their 2 x 18650 at 133 watts (66.5 watts per 18650). Dicodes specs theirs at 60-65 watts per single cell. Yihi use to spec their SX line at 75 watts per cell.
Cheaper mods tend to over-spec theirs at 100watts per cell.
I was saying I expect more attainable (honest) specs from higher end mods. In other words more integrity. I'm surprised Yihi decided to spec the Q the way cheaper mods do instead of the way they use to (75 watts per cell or 150 watts for the Q).
I don't see a problem. YIHI is using the same specs as other Chinese manufactures. Just because they aren't following in the footsteps of Evolv isn't a problem to me. All I see are DNA fans looking to nitpick at the competition. No one vapes at 200 watts, so why complain that you can't vape all day at 200 watts on the same set of batteries? I think DNA fans just need to get over the fact that YIHI isn't Evolv and move on with your lives.
I guess this ''wattgate'' is only relevant for a really small number of us, I personally don't go higher than 70 - 80 watts with my builds. Therefore I'm in the safe zone anyway.
What bothers me is something else: all former Yihi products were flawless, both from a performance and craftsmanship perspective, why would they change this with the Q class? I mean, magnets falling off?
Aside from that, why go for a 22mm 510 deck? A lot of recent atomizers are 23-24mm at least, 25mm really becoming the norm! Basically all my current favourite atomizers (Griffin 25mm, Aromamizer supreme and so on) will look stupid on this mod due to the overhang...
If any other company will release a chip to kill both Evolv and YIHI in terms of specs and reliability, I will become a fan of that as well.
I'm a "fan" of any safe device and a "fan" of vapers vaping what they like. I will continue to express my opinion where I think there is a safety issue. Your personal attacks of those who feel there is a safety issue is noted. Please attack the posts and not the posters. Tell us how and why it is safe and why our concerns are a bunch of crap.
Discouraging discussion about battery safety is not a position I would ever want to be in.
In fairness to you if you feel my posts are out of bounds and safety doesn't matter then you can report my posts and ask they be deleted.
Oh, by the way, which batteries do you recommend new owners of the Q use in order to safely vape at 200 watts?
Well I cancelled my preorder for the q class at the last minute. Even though I got it for 160 and the free batts it just wasn't worth it. If the mod weighed more and wasn't so tall I would be for it but since it weighs less then the ml I couldn't use it without it falling over all the time. My m and ml have served me well while I'm doing construction jobs but the solid feel helps them rest on things and I think the q class will tip over very easily. I know it sounds stupid to cancel because of that but it's a big thing for me to have a sturdy mod. Looks like I may get the sx flask or the hcigar 133. I hope everyone has good luck with the q class and hopefully the magnets falling out is only a isolated incident.
