hi nick and welcome :)

TAE is made to hold any kind of liquid from 100pg or 100% vg. To archive the 100% pg we had to make big feeding channels, otherwise you would have burn issdues or you wouldnt be able to vape more watts that 25 as on other atomizers. So TAE is a multiatomiser, made for everyone. Thats why we have the liquid control. We open it more on high watts or on high vg liquids and we close it on hign pg or low watts.

If you vape 65% pg then its ok when you vape because you open the liquid control less. But the feeding channels are big, so when you leave TAE for a long time, you just close the liquid control. The liquid control is there to help you, not to bring you issues:)
So if it leaks, you need to open the mouthpiece less!

I have now changed it to 50/50 liquid, but it is still leaking. The liquid comes out of the airflow hole on the bottom. There is a lot of liquid in there :(. I only open the LC half a turn, so this can‘t be the issue either I think.

In my opinion if you are using 50/50 juice and you close the jfc when you end vaping for the day, then it should not leak. Leaking from the air holes is a symptom of one of two things (usually). Faulty seal in the tank such as bad o-ring or miss aligned part. Last it can be a wicking issue as the liquid must force itself past the cotton to the deck. No test of this problem will be valid unless you completely close the jfc and see if this continues. It is very unlikely that this will happen with the jfc closed as the liquid cannot reach the center chamber. If it does then you have bad o-rings or a faulty tank (unlikely but possible).

I had a tank once from Vaporesso (not a rebuildable) that did as you describe. I was using 50/50 juice at the time. It would just completely dump the juice overnight. Turned out it was a bad o-ring inside the top cap causing the tank to loose vacuum. Took me a very long time to track that down as the o-ring looked in place but was slightly out of spec.

Hey Imeo you mentioned the TAE in stores today, I think you said 23.59 pm - what timezone? Just wondering when I can try and snag one for myself.. crossing my fingers I can manage to get one! 23mm preferably (if those will be for sale today) so it goes with a Cybrillion when I get it. I'm assuming gg-store.com will be a good place to grab one?

Thanks so much!

edit: ok so it looks like 5pm EST for me. Now to bring up a few sites and figure out which has the cheapest shipping to NY, USA! Anyone have a shop recommendation? I've got a few sites pulled up from the official sellers Wiki.

Can't wait! Hope they don't sell out too fast and I can grab one :)

So, just curious, what are your guys preferred coil setups with the TAE on a mech mod?

I've pretty much stuck with a simple ~1ohm microcoil but when my TAE arrives I'd love to try other things! I do have an old springomizer for Tilemahos so I have lots of springs left, I'll have to give those another shot.. I never got a really nice setup using those with cotton wicks... I didn't fiddle with it for too long, though.

Anyway.. just looking for something nice.. single coil, dual coil, microcoils, etc... would love something that promotes better taste for sure!

I've gotten so lazy with my coils I just always use the same build every time but now that I have a new toy to play with I figure it's time to try some new things again!

So, what do you guys enjoy?

My e-juice is fairly thick if that matters.

Now that I think about it, I'm kicking myself that I didn't add any of the new Zirconium springs to my order! I should have grabbed a few of those to try. Ah well, I still have a bunch of the original springs that came with the Tilemahos springomizer I can play with.

Imeo, what are you using for your wicks? I've got all sorts of stuff to use but with my original Tilemahos I have thin sheets of Japanese cotton and I cut small pieces off, roll them into a wick that fits through the coil and is good to go (I still push the cotton ends into the rebuildable body and fluff the ends out a little) - maybe I've always been doing it "wrong" - on this TAE I'm noticing a huge amount of cotton in your videos! I'm gonna have to get used to making new wicks I think, it seems like the ones I've been making will be far too small and thin and will just make the TAE leak. I like the idea of having a lot more cotton, though... holds more juice and absorbs the juice faster I imagine.

I might have to leave my 1ohm microcoils behind and try something new, a coil with a bigger diameter for a larger wick and more cotton! Something that works good on a mech at least.

Can't wait to play with this :)

I'd love to see some shots and descriptions of your guys TAE setups! I've got all sorts of wire and wick materials to use. Mostly interested in mech mod builds as I don't have variable wattage or anything.

more wick is necessary on TAE sub. Leave 15mm wick per channel on 25mm version and 10mm of wick on 23mm version to be sure that you will have no leaks because of the great feeding. My coils are made of 0,4mm Zirconium with 7 threads on a 2,5 or 3mm axis. But a lot of setups can be made, so just play with it :)

Awesome, thanks Imeo!

I'm actually kind of kicking myself now because I should have ordered a spare glass or two, so I think I'm going to place an order for extra glass parts from fabvape... I already ordered a spare O-Ring set with my TAE.. wish I thought of glass!
What about the different size AD center pins? I like a mouth to lung drag. Dumb question but the 5mm center pin comes with the TAE, yeah? I imagine that will be best for me, the spares are smaller so I don't think I'd use those.
Anything else I should grab a spare for? I figure mostly O-rings and glass but had to ask!

The only other thing I'd like to try is the Zirconium wire but it is out of stock at the stores I checked. Anyone have a US source for Zirconium wire?

Thanks!

edit: actually there is "soft" zirconium wire available but I'm wondering what the difference is.

soft zirconium is just softer so easier to make coils sub :)

Perfect! I just ordered 2 spare glass parts and some 0.40mm and 0.35mm soft Zirconium wire.

Looks like the resistance is slightly different on the soft wire... 5.70ohm / meter vs the 8ohm / meter of the harder kind. Which do you use Imeo?

After looking into Zirconium wire I can't wait to try it out! Sounds really nice. Can't wait to play with my TAE :)

Now I just gotta figure out a nice coil setup to use when I get it all in the mail!

Thanks Imeo!

One more question - with TAE does anyone else use those Japanese Koh Gen Do cotton sheets on the TAE? I usually cut a thin strip of it (with the main sheet peeled in half, making 2 sheets), then pull off and discard the "tough" outer layer and just roll it nicely into a wick. But this is for a smaller microcoil on an original Tilemahos.

Will this still apply to the TAE, except obviously rolling up a much bigger wick? I will probably try that first but wanted some opinions on the "best" wick material for TAE. I'll have to play with how tight or loose to roll it as this is sort of a whole new world to me, I've been using the same setup for years.

I just see in Imeo's video he is using some type of raw cotton that he pulls off and makes these perfect wicks (I'm jealous how easy you make it look :p). I think I have some similar cotton someplace that I can play with, but I've always loved that japanese cotton.

Or is it Rayon?

Sorry, I know I must be blowing the forum up asking stupid newbie questions, I'm just trying to prepare to have everything ready and perfect for when my TAE arrives :) - been vaping GG stuff for many years but now I feel like I'm thrown right back to square one as I've really never played with different coil setups.. when I found the right microcoil that worked I just stuck with it. I'm a creature of habit :p

Thanks again everyone!

The cotton I see used by the master is Cotton Bacon V2. I have used that in the TAE and it works for me but I still get an occasional dry hit with that. I also tried Koh Gen Do pads but that did not go well at all. I imagine if you could get just the right amount of the pad and fluff it up enough you may get acceptable results. I never did. So...here is the best I found for use with the springs at about .7-1ohm range. I use Kendo Vape Cotton and the results have been perfect. No dry hits and excellent flavor. It is also very burn resistant so you get more use from it. I normally only use Kendo Vape in drippers cause it has super absorbent ability (retention of liquid) and is denser than Japanese Organic or Cotton Bacon. It simply holds more juice. A warning though, you must prime it completely more so than other cotton before vaping it. I have not used Kendo in my other rta's as I find it does not wick as well. I have found it to be the perfect match for the spring loaded TAE.

did you buy GG soft and hard zirconium sub? Maybe the difference in ohms is because they are not GG both of them :)

All the GG Zirconium was out of stock on fabvape unfortunately.. I will have to play with the soft kind in the meantime. Hopefully it is as good!

Ah perfect, thanks - I will have to grab some! Seems like most people love it

I've got some Bacon Cotton v2 coming in the mail. Was reading into it and I guess most people seem to think it's just repackaged dental cotton of some sort.. I think someone found a link to buy the exact kind as the bacon cotton.. I may try to get that and see if there is a difference.... in the meantime it will be nice having new coils and wicks to make again! I've gotten in such a repetitive habit of making the same coils and wicks on my Tilemahos since it first came out!

Now I'm just crossing my fingers my TAE passes through customs fast! Hopefully with the holidays over it won't be held too long! Still probably a rough time for shippers and customs, though!
