Clever solution. Thanks for sharing. I would think you might want to eventually get some larger O-rings, as well. I had to. They do make a difference. Nothing like instantly flooding your rta when the chimney spins, right? Good luck!

I would but I probably need to spend a little time googling to figure out the "right" oring size haha

Well, bought a TGT clone used off the classies here so not sure whose clone it is. It arrived with a torn o ring and no extras, although they were supposed to be included. At any rate, I finally got o rings yesterday, and got it built. I love this thing! It vapes nicer than a kfl+ IMO, and a bit nicer than the Lemo I also got yesterday :)

I'm very surprised I don't see these mentioned more often on this forum.

Glad you are enjoying it! Welcome to get taifun club ;)

Honestly, I don't know why there aren't that popular either? I guess I blame the 23mm size? Tighter draw vs Kayfuns? No idea.

Mine might have the tube removed because the airflow is awesome. Much better than the kfl+. Thanks for the welcome :)

I bought one of those kits with like 50 different sizes for $15 or something. I have imperial and metric, so I'm set for about 14 generations. I have to have a tool for everything. A serious weakness, like vape gear, LOL. But I have the orings covered!

Are you sure your TGT is not authentic because a clone with the Taifun labeling is not permited to be sold on ECF classifieds.

All the sizes were listed here:
Taifun GT / O-Ring Set - SmokerStore GmbH

I used that because I was too lazy to measure and they were spot on for my clone.
The set includes:

- 2 x- 2x1mm (adjustable plus pole)
- 2 x – 12x1 mm (Base under the sliding tube)
- 2x-new 11x1 mm (after serial no. 1500 we put this o-ring under the sleeve )
- 2x – 12x1mm (chamber cap)
- 2x – 4x1 mm (sealing/ airtube-chamber cap)
- 4x - 17x1,5 mm (sealing / combotank- base- top-cap
- 2x- 5x1,5mm (Drip Tip)

I found it quite interesting that they changed the size of the sleeve o-ring from 12 to 11 mm, I have been using 12's but on some clones 11 would be a better fit.

I know. The mods pulled the ad right after I bought it. Seller didn't understand clone v. counterfeit when he listed it. Its definitely not authentic as I paid $16 including shipping for it :D. I had ordered one from FT that was out of stock. I had also ordered their Hana clone. They kept shipping out the Hana and it kept getting returned to them due to the battery. Without asking me if it was ok, they put it on a boat. Been almost 3 months. Hasn't arrived, tracking doesn't work. So I got into a dispute with them, especially with the rudeness of their responses. Needless to say, they never sent me the Taifun. So when I saw a cheap one in the classies I grabbed it quickly. Figured I would try it and if I liked it I could always buy a better one, or maybe a used authentic.

Now that the o ring issue is resolved and I was finally able to build it, I'm very happy with it, whichever clone it is. Seller told me EHPro, but I don't think they make one? Whatever it is, the threads are very good as are the juice channels.

Originally bought an "A" and loved it so much I bought another. "B" this time. Nothing has been right with this thing. First off was getting shorts and a burnt taste. Loosened the 910 screw as per someones suggestions and shorts went away. Now keep getting leaks and burnt taste is back.
Any idea's from anyone?
thanks

If it's burning, then I'm guessing it's not wicking right. Does the one you're talking about have the same kind of wick channels/slots as the one that works well? If they are the same, and you're wicking them both the same, then I'm at a loss.

I always do a loooong (nearly 10 seconds, maybe more) test fire once I've got my coil re-wicked and thoroughly soaked with juice. Sometimes it certainly LOOKS perfect, but I might still get a hot spot on the coil where the wick is drying up faster. That's just a minor variance in wick density. Now, if I KEEP getting that same hot area, then it means I've got a loose leg, and it's time to re-coil.

Oh, and I got the Gaia mod someone suggested a while back. I lurb it. I lurb it vewy much! FT was QUICK on this one!

I am wicking them both exactly the same. When I get that burnt taste I have taken it apart and pulled out wick and absolutely no burnt spots-wick is clear and clean as a whistle. I just replaced the Oring with the ones someone on here suggested and what a task. After putting new O ring on, the fit was so tight I had to coax the skirt/well on with pliers. New wick of course, let it sit for ten minutes and getting a much tighter draw and so far no leaks. Maybe it is me but I still detect a burnt taste. Always different juices and always a clean wick and it seems to come back.

an hour later and not a leak in sight. CHANGE your Orings folks if you are leaking. Tons of difference. thanks to whoever mentioned it (craig?) not sure but that did the trick. I am mystified about the burning taste though.
I also took out the bottom pin and cleaned all the juice and gunk out of there and re-inserted the pin and ring

From what I gather the FT type "A" sleeve o-ring fits best with 12 x1 mm and the FT type "B" sleeve fits best with 11 x 1 mm o-ring.
I've been using 12's on the B's and they can start out pretty tight. I have some 11 x 1 mm o-rings on the way.
I've had the sleeve pretty well stuck on there pretty good before and the way I get a hold on it is to put an Allen key through the wick slots and install the chamber cap.
Care must be taken as the coil posts are sometimes in the way of turning the sleeve with the Allen key in place but it can be worked loose without pliers.

I buy my o-rings, 50 to 100 usually, from Orings and More. http://www.oringsandmore.com/
"Metric 70 O-rings" is the sub-category from where I choose the size.
I must add that I've not had the need as yet to replace any of the other o-rings on a TGT other than the one under the sleeve (but I have them)
