If it's burning, then I'm guessing it's not wicking right. Does the one you're talking about have the same kind of wick channels/slots as the one that works well? If they are the same, and you're wicking them both the same, then I'm at a loss.
I always do a loooong (nearly 10 seconds, maybe more) test fire once I've got my coil re-wicked and thoroughly soaked with juice. Sometimes it certainly LOOKS perfect, but I might still get a hot spot on the coil where the wick is drying up faster. That's just a minor variance in wick density. Now, if I KEEP getting that same hot area, then it means I've got a loose leg, and it's time to re-coil.
Oh, and I got the Gaia mod someone suggested a while back. I lurb it. I lurb it vewy much! FT was QUICK on this one!
