Taifun GT Discusion!

I had thought this as well though my supposed adjustable 510 was leaking so I completely tore down my deck. On one of my two used plumbers tape reassembled gtg no more leaks.

Just wondering. How high are you you building the coils from the deck? Are you leaving a good distance between the coil and air flow or are you building the coil only 1 or 2mm from the deck. (I would imagine the closer you are to the air hole the more flavour you should get)

I removed my metal tube, I'm thinking about pulling the white insulator out 2mm so that if there is any juice on the deck it won't make its way into the air hole easily (Right now its flush) But I'm concerned that white insulator could melt being exposed. Thoughts?

At any rate, the first time I build my Tainfun GT clone it was the best vape I ever had. Fantastic vapour and flavour, absolutely epic! I've never had a single drop of liquid flood my air hole either.

But again, love to hear your thoughts on my two questions.

I move mine up or down till I get the hit I want. It's nice to be able to tweak it as needed.

My normal build I push the collar down and set the drill bit or whatever I wrapped my coil on and use the sleeve to stabilize and hold the coil as I secure it to the posts. I haven't experimented with anything lower than that and get great flavor.

Before I totally removed the insulator I raised it above the deck just a little and didn't have any problems with flooding the air hole, now I removed it and get a little gurgling but nothing out the air hole. It did melt a little from dry burning the coil but it wasn't bad, just put it a little above the deck and you should be fine.

It should have come with another tube just pull out the one insert the other.

I removed center air channel. Very simple. Opened up air flow, but still not open a lot, just better. Needle nose pliers all that is needed. I understand why some are drilling holes bigger, but I ain't touching my tai fun GT with a drill. No frigg'n way!!

Thanks! Just grab and pull. I didn't want to break anything. I don't think mine came with an extra tube. Maybe because it's a clone. I'll check when I get home but I'll try it with it completely out first.

A little tip on removing the tube, start by removing the negative screw and it's sleeve to provide easy access to the center tube. Then find a little shaft that fits into the air tube and place it inside it, now you can grip it pretty tight without squashing it.
The tube that comes in the original is 1.2 mm and the ones that come installed in the clones that I've seen are 1.5 mm.

Here's another one for ya. Anybody know where I can get the tube that goes from the chamber to the mouthpiece? I just found 2 that have this piece broken or missing.

The only way I see it from a cash point of view would be to use the FT nano kits.
They are $19 (non-Euro)plus shipping from Smokerstore so.........................

I have no idea who make the FT SS type B but I have ordered a 3rd one, people keep wanting to buy them so I oblige. I have one original TGT and one FT type A, I'm hard pressed to tell the difference between type B and original. (sold two B's)

I don't know who makes them either, but dwcraig1 is right. The ones he's talking about are the best (and cheapest) I've found. angelcigs seems to only be shipping the crappier ones with the narrow wick slots and those are a total PITA to wick. I've dremmeled a few of those out and they've been fine after that.

Both FT clones are good. I have two originals and about 5 clones now and I lost track of which was which a long time ago. While there are differences, they are so slight that I can't consistently tell which is which either, as another poster mentioned. Considering how much the original ones cost me, I'm still scratching my head about it. Good luck.

HCigar, I have four. All are perfect. I have one original that I bought because I like the Taifun design so much and wanted to contribute to the financial well-being of the designer. I now can't tell which is which.
I bought two generic clones from fasttech, one was fine but one fell apart. I would stay with HCigar.

Having problems with dry hits on your Taifun GT? Try adding a second o-ring to the chamber cap so that it doesn't screw down as far which will increase the size of the wick slots a bit.
In the end though for mine I Dremeled the slots ever so little and added a slightly thicker o-ring to the cap after I saw the results from my above suggestion.

I'm normally a dripper but I figured I'd go ahead and get an RBA for a daily. I ended up buying the Taifun and I do love it. It looks great with my V3 Flip and feels good.

I am, however, having issues with it. I didn't do any crazy builds on it. Just running a 1.3 ohm build. I'm having trouble with the air hole. It'll hit fine for a handful of pulls and then it'll leak PROFUSELY out of the air hole. Leaking all over my hand and mod.

I didn't overfill the tank so I'm having trouvle figuring out the issue. Also occasionally it spits up at me through my drip tip.

Any thoughts?

Has anyone run into a problem with the Ohms reading? I keep getting in between 3.6-3.8 if I use 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 wraps of 29 ga Kanthal. Is it user error or is something going on with my Taifun?

Also- the screw on the bottom is for some reason making it impossible to screw on my voltage meter. When I remove the screw, it screws in fine. Not sure about that either.
