Does anyone know of a vendor in Canada who sells a usb pass thru? I have a 901 and penstyle and would like a pass thru for at least one of them. I am a little afraid to buy from the US if things are being held in customs.

On a side note, how did you all transition from cigs to the ecig? I can not seem to break the habit to grab a smoke and lighter. I love vaping, especially the penstyle but can't seem to fully convert. Any advice would be great.

I was just going to ask the same question about a passthrough!

As for the transition...put your cancer stix in the garbage. If you dont have it, you wont grab it.

Not here. My smokes are still in my jacket pocket. Haven't had enough of an urge to think about lighting one up. Don't think I ever will (and if I do, not really concerned about having one, cuz it's become kind of not my thing now). After 24 years of around 30 cigs a day! Now, one month, almost effortless.

Vape like MAD, though! :)

vapesmart.com should have them soon. I've been talking with the owner Tim (aka Smocha) They're in Toronto

Personally, I switched from cigarettes to e-cigs in the space of about 1-2 days. I love nicotine, but got sick of smoking, after only 13 years. I still have loose tobacco and tubes to make my own, but haven't done so in weeks. Once in a blue moon I'll fire one up, but soon regret it. Like on the second puff.

The transition went pretty smooth for me. I didn't stop smoking analogs the first day, but within a week I was completely off them. I think the key is having everything you need like extra batteries, atomizers, juice, etc so you wont be tempted (as much) to pick up a regular cigarette if a certain part fails. I had a problem with the length of batteries when I first started, but after picking up a bunch of spares I was good to go. One morning I just vaped instead of smoked, and left my cigarettes at home when I went to work. It was really that easy.

During the beginning I had a few craving for an analog, but that faded quickly, and after a week those cravings completely disappeared. My advise is when you feel the urge to have an analog.. wait. Vape and give it time before reaching for a cigarette. You'll find that the urge will not be as strong and go away. Try it next time.

I'm from NS and I've been reading on this site for two days and have to admit Im overwhelmed with the amount of info on vaping. Recently diagnosed with cancer and HAVE to switch to vaping and need some advice. What I think I am hearing is that the 901 is a decent unit to start with and that I should be looking at buying extra atomizers and batteries. As a pack and 1/2 a day smoker does anyone know how many cartridges I should be thinking of buying? What is the difference between cartridges and 'dripping'? I'm considering quit stik or some other Canadian supplier. Please anyone....I need to jump into this and I could use some advice.

There's quite a lot of "how-to" & "tips" videos on Youtube that will quickly bring you up to speed. Spend a couple hours going through a bunch of 'em and you'll learn A LOT in regard to all aspects of vaping and equipment maintenace.

Beachstone, I'm very sorry to hear about your diagnosis but feel duty bound to point you in the direction of this article:

How nicotine helps cancer grow - health - 21 July 2006 - New Scientist

SJ

 I wonder if they (the doctors) knew that when my Grandfather was diagnosed with liver cancer? Better question would be " Are doctors telling cancer patients to use the patch?"

Beachstone....Sorry to hear about your diagnosis :(. Let me tell you what I learned about my analog addiction when I converted to vaping. Most of the addiction is the physical movements and sensations that we go through everytime we light an analog...pulling out pack; grab lighter; first "primer puff"; first exhale of smoke etc etc etc....I cut down my nic intake by over 50% (if not more) in the first week without showing the signs of "quitters crankiness." aka "quankiness" ;)
In my opinion, get vaping ASAP...DIY your own niquids and start reducing your nic intake. It's amazing how we can trick our brains into being satisfied that the "smoke" we just puffed was self-satisfying. You should be able to reduce your intake drasticly and still fool your brain.

Just my .02

Hi Brachstone,
sorry for your diagnosis, stay strong!

As for vaping, I will first note, I am not fully off analogs myself but have purchased 4 different e-cigs, for me, as a pack a day+, I prefer the 801/penstyle by far. I find it produces tons of vapor that gives you the sensation of inhaling that I need. I have 2 901's, one I like alot it produces good vapor too but the other has given me nothing but problems, atomizer died right away, the battery failed also. I also have a supermini the kind that is the same size as a real cig, it is so-so.

The carts vary alot in my experience, for my pen style I think I average about 8ish smokes per cart (but I am still tweaking the vaping time, I find I vape longer per "smoke" than I would if it were a normal smoke) and for the 901 I'd say maybe 4-5ish. I often wonder if it depends where you get the carts though because I have seen a huge range in what people experience.

On the dripping, it is great, but not as convenient as popping in a new cart. I like to drip at home, and it is cheaper. It is not to hard to refill your carts or just top up with juice, you can see videos on all this here, which are so helpful.

I am babbling and I appologise, I am not all that experienced but I'd say 2 kits would be good if you are ok with costs, you will always have 2 on hand and batteries charging, I would get a fair number of carts, and a bottle of liquid to experiment with. I also recomend buying Canadian, less vendors but better security for shipping and such, so far I have had good experiences with both Canadian and US with the exception of e-puffer which I do not recomend.

Good luck,
Karen
