My ecig tank leaked a bit and got some juice on my arrow sense mod. I thought it was clean so I decided to check and see if the battery had any ejuice on it. What I didn't realize was as I was taking it out, there was a smudge of ejuice on the mod still, got on my finger, and when I took the first battery out I noticed I got the ejuice from my hand on the battery wrapping. It wasn't much , I wiped it off, but is it safe to use again? I really didn't want to wipe the battery wrap with a damp tissue or alcohol , I am confused how to clean a battery lololol.

It should be fine. 18650 batteries have metal cases under that plastic wrap. The only thing you don’t want to do is make an electrical connection between the positive and negative terminals. IF there’re are no breaks in the plastic wiping it down will be fine. If there ARE breaks or holes in the plastic wrap you need to be more careful because any break in the wrap is effectively also now a negative terminal. It also means you need to rewrap the battery. There are numerous guides here and online on how to rewrap batteries.

Ejuice is water soluble. You can wipe it off the battery with a damp cloth and it should be fine.

No worries. As long as the e juice didn't get under the wrap you're fine. As @bombastinator points out, if by some chance, which it does not sound like in your situation, liquid or tears occur to the plastic wrap you need to replace it. It's quite easy, just don't pull the wrap off with anything metallic. The hard part is having a hair dryer at home to shrink wrap a new one in. Even if you don't have one there are other solutions folks have used.

Generally when you buy replacement batteries the trusted online vendors throw in a few free wraps with your order. If you don't have any, you can find them on Amazon for very low prices. And don't lose the little plastc/paper donut on top. You really need that. It's not a bad idea if you buy extra wraps to order a sheet of those as well. Again, very inexpensive and good to have around rather than sit there with an otherwise perfectly good battery you can't use until the replacement arrives.

Thank you everyone for your time and responses! It was on the side of the battery, nothing went under the wrap as far as I can tell (How do you tell if it does? Besides if the wrap tears or seperates from the battery?) The wrap looked good.

I am way too paranoid to be able to re-wrap a battery , lol . It took me a couple of years just to have enough courage to buy a mod with external batteries.

My motto is "If you are Unsure, it never hurts to Ask."

Unless there was standing e-Liquid on the Positive End of the Battery, it should be Fine. And wiping a Batteries Wrap with a moist Paper Towel and then hitting it with a Dry one isn't to hurt anything.

You get streaks of ejuice underneath the wrapping:

It's easy. A hair dryer on high is all you need once you order the 18650 wraps.

So my mod stopped working, so i checked the batteries again and one does have an ejuice streak a very small one . I have another battery but it doesn't have the same charge , can I single charge one battery at a time ? lol . If not, is it okay to have one battery with 3.80 volts and another at 4 volts ? Also the inside of the mod looks like some ejuice might be stuck on the furthest inside, how do I clean the inside of the arrow sense mod?

The area under the wrap will darken and the wrap will appear splotchy.

LOL. No worries. :) I assure you it’s quite simple and safe.
Batteries only flow electricity when the positive and negative terminals are connected by a conductor. Most things are not conductors. Literally nothing is completely safe of course, but rewrapping batteries is not very far up the risk scale.

This is generally not good
so i checked the batteries again and one does have an ejuice streak a very small one .
That wouldn’t be anything like enough to cause a problem with the mod though

I personally do not consider a battery that has juice under the wrap to be that big a hazard. It’s just something one wants to get taken care of eventually. That’s me though. Others may disagree and be more correct than me.
Also the inside of the mod looks like some ejuice might be stuck on the furthest inside, how do I clean the inside of the arrow sense mod?
I’ve heard of people using q-tips. The bigger question is why the mod stopped working. There are lots and lots of reasons that might happen. I’m afraid I know basically nothing about the model you are using though other than what I can deduce from looking at pictures of it.

It worked when I changed the battery. Bad or good?

Your batteries must be balanced.A difference more than 0.3 V between them and your mod due to safety features will shut-off.
Batteries must be:
Same age
Same Brand
Same size
Same chemistry
Same Mah rating
Same Charge
Same CDR

So the battery with the ejuice streak didn't seem to fire up the mod. When I switched it with another battery it worked, but the charge is 4.0 with the replaced battery and the other battery is 3.8 . What can I do to make the charge the same? They are the same age, brand, size, mah, cdr . I used them roughly the same amount of cycles as well. Just they have different charges because they weren't used together before. I originally bought 4 batteries at the same time. When one set was used up , I'd use the other set while charging the other set. One battery in the other set I noticed recently had a small scrap in the wrap so I stopped using it. The other battery I took from the set to replace the battery with the e-juice streak.

For trouble shooting purposes you can use those 2 unmarried batteries.

People often say you need them married from purchase but it's not because otherwise it'll blow you up, it's because it's the best thing to do for efficiency, battery life, etc.

I would just charge your batteries to full (4.2V) and put in 2 of them just to see if it's a problem with the mod or the batteries.

I doubt it's the batteries though. Most of mine are streaky.

You really shouldn't do that, batteries should be married, as in used together at all times.

There isn't a way really to get "one to charge up" more than the other, it is what it is, etc. That is why batteries are married to begin with. They see more even usage.

If you are retiring batteries for "small scrapes" you have GOT to learn how to rewrap. Seriously. It's not scary or hard. I use a cigarette lighter if I don't have access to my hair dryer and this is the type of thing I suck at.

You are wasting money not doing this all your batteries are now "single battery mod" batteries as you have divorced them. Unlike IRL, you can't really remarry them.

Yeah, I have a mental disorder which makes me extremely paranoid over certain things, sometimes irrational. I have Agroaphobia with panic disorder. I am afraid of seeing blood. I am afraid of telephone poles moving in the wind. I am afraid of crossing the road in fear I will faint in the middle of the road and get run over. I take medication to leave the house but it doesn't completely remove the fear. Sadly I would probably have to waste money unless, someone in my area could show me how to rewrap batteries in person - otherwise I won't gather enough courage on my own.

I learn literally everything I know from YouTube. Whether that's how to fix my water heater, how to do my job, or how to rewrap batteries.
