Tanked Carto VS Genisis Style Aty.....Are you getting a better vape from a genisis style aty than a tanked carto?

I am relatively new to RBAs but I have tried....
-Horizontal coils with wicks of bamboo/hemp/cotton or whatever comes with the smokteck r-tank.
-Vertical coils setup in the genisis style configuration with the above wicks plus 400 and 635 SS, in both the r-tank aty and a custom built setup.
-Most of the above with and without scubaqu glass tube.

I guess I have been lucky and haven't really had any issues with shorting/hot spots/etc with direct coil on SS, just followed the info on ECF for oxidation. I don't think I have mastered SS wick rolling yet, but with 635 I got a lot better results than with 400. I have been adhering to BJ43's philosophy of a tight wick generates better wicking (capillary action).

But I have not found one RBA/Genisis configuration that compares to the boring old LR Tanked Cartomizer.

That said I don't have an actual genisis style atomizer nor know anybody with one, so my experience is limited to my own.

Cartomizers are great for some and I have generally had a good experience with them. Cartromizers have the poly down side, along with being somewhat inconstant and restrictive to maintenance/adjustment, and once in a while one that is bad out of the package.

I'm kind of a tinker and wanted to better my vape from the cartomizers, which it looked like many were doing with RBA's.

Quite possibly my experience with RBA's is the minority, but I wanted to get some feedback from others.

I still use both, mostly tanked cartomizers though. Thing with cartomizers is general consistency, and I'm specificly talking about the dual coils I have been using the last year or so. RBA's sometimes require a break in period, definately change performance over the life of the coil. Sometimes, they hit just absolutely perfect, and blow your mind, sometimes not so much. They require fiddling, and thats great for the weekend. I don't enjoy trying to get a new RBA going while I'm at work, because I lost a coil. So RBA's wind up being more of a weekend thing, even when I keep 3 built and with me in the car at all times.

Tanked cartos are just easier, and your not going to be stuck out someplace. I also find myself trying to attact less attention as the years of vaping go by. Some of my VV/VW rigs with RBAs on top are outright huge, and not exactly easy to hide. I just want to vape, not always hold a 2 hour show and tell in the walmart parking lot. So somtimes its just an ego twist and a dual coil with no tank.

I too have to put a shout out for the good ol carto in a tank. Its easy set it up and go. No fiddling, no shorts( unless you happen to get a bad carto, to which ive never have) The only thing that is easier are those prefilled small cig alikes or lighting up a cigarette. I have tried a few different types of RBAs. Tried Vivi Nova, DID, Zen, Phoenix RA, dripping atties etc. Tried a buddies Odysseus and I was in love. I got one and no regrets. It is my main device. Its easy to set up, no fiddling, no leaks no worries. I will never get rid of my carto/tanks, got too many real nice (and expensive ones) . Some of my juices actually taste better in a carto/tank, but what made me look into something else was that I have some tobacco juices that are real carto killers so only being able to use the carto/tank with them for a couple hours was just not cutting it. I love those juices so much I was not going to give them up.
