Has anyone used the ScubaQu with a Genisis LV?

I have tried searching and reading a few of the threads on the Pyrex SS hybrid wick but my brain and eyes start to hurt, I mean I understand how and why it works but the posts on the threads go off on tangents I can't follow. But even so I have yet to see any reference to any gravity fed wicks like the Genisis LV.

I guess a better question is can the Pyrex sleeve work with a gravity fed wick?
From what I've seen and read the vapor concentrates mostly at the top of the sleeve.
Would that cause the gravity fed wick to stop wicking (sp?) corectly?

I would like to prevent dry burns and risk melting the Pyrex sleeve.

Thank you for any information and/or insight.

Next question, is there a reason everyone appears to be using Pyrex glass over fused quartz? Price? Availability?

I only ask because quartz appears to have better heat transfer (unless I'm reading the specs wrong) and it can be heated to around 1100C then dipped in water without stressing the quartz.

Thanks again.
Dan's first mod was with pyrex so we all immediately ordered some before the quartz benefit came to light, now most of us are getting quartz.

Where is everyone going for the quartz, or where's the best place to buy from?
What vender is willing to cut and anneal the tubes?
Or is there a co-op forming for this?

Thank you guys for your information I really want to try this out in my Genisis LV.
